Ryan looked out the window, amazed. Miami was so much better than she thought it was. She could see herself riding her motorcycle around the city. Maybe even having Maya hanging onto her tightly. God, what a life they'd have together. But was it too early to be thinking like that? Probably. How about we not think about that?
"So, how do you like the house?" Dylan asked as he gave them a tour of his condo. The condo was huge, Ryan was still insanely surprised that he'd had this much money. What the hell did he do? Maya made it seem like whatever it was was bad. They were whispering about it when the two hugged earlier.
"I love it man, whatever you're doing, can I have a part in it?" Maya whipped her head towards her and her eyes widened. Dylan burst out laughing and patted Ryan's shoulder.
"Sorry dude, Maya would kill me." Ryan looked at Maya's face and laughed.
"Yeah, I can tell. It's okay babe." Maya smiled sheepishly and Ryan kissed her cheek.
"Well guys, I'm going to jet out for a while. You'll probably have the house to yourself tonight."
"Wait, we've got a hotel room-"
"Might want to get your money back and spend it on something else. No way I'll have my sister and her cool ass girlfriend here and let them sleep in a hotel. There's plenty of food in the fridge, help yourself." He hugged Maya tightly.
"Remember, I'll be back in the morning. I love you and I'm so happy you're here."
"Okay, and thank you so much. I love you too Dyl." Ryan smiled, seeing the two of them finally get together again was great. Ryan knew the two missed each other dearly.
"I'll see you two in the morning. There is another car in the garage, space number 271, the keys are in the kitchen. The numbers to my favorite take out places are in the kitchen also." He waved and left the house. Maya looked at Ryan and took her hand.
"What do you want to do now?"
"I hope this doesn't sound too forward, but I'd like it if you told me about your brother." Maya raised her eyebrow.
"Have a crush on my brother?" Maya said, joking around.
"Only you my darling." Ryan said, grinning and pulling Maya closer. Maya laughed and kissed Ryan.
"Okay, we can talk about him. Dylan was always free spirited. He liked to go out and have fun, and there was nothing wrong with that, but Mom hated it. She had her reasons, but he didn't care all too much. When he made the choice to go to college, she told him she wouldn't pay for him to lolly gag around and fail. He decided to go and get money on his own. He became a stripper and soon he serviced his customers in several different ways. Until that one time he got an STD from a male customer. She was furious, she kicked him out of the house and he moved here. One of his customers suggested he come here. He had a job for him. That brought my brother to the adult performing industry-"
"Oh shit, he's a porn star?" Maya nodded.
"Yes, he is."
"And he's got this much money?"
"Well, he's also an occasional stripper and he owns a club, so yes."
"Woah, that's awesome Maya." Maya laughed and shrugged. "Why were you whispering to him?"
"He's a porn star and a stripper, talking about you working with him." Ryan was still confused.
"Okay?..."
"Babe, he was joking about you doing a video. Most of his friends are in the industry too and I don't want them trying to ask you about things like that."
"Oh... Wow. I mean, babe I wouldn't mind doing a video though. That's a lot of money." Ryan said, trying to trick Maya. Maya's eyes widened.
"Ry, are you serious?"
"Yeah, I mean he's made a lot of money off of it. I think it'd be an easy way to start myself off. I'll need more money for college and everything else."
"Babe, I don't know how I feel about that. We can find you another job if you feel like you need more money." Ryan grinned.
"I was kidding Maya. I don't want to do anything like that and I can watch over myself. His friends won't get to me." Maya shook her head.
"You scared me Ryan." Ryan smiled sheepishly. "But, I know you can take care of yourself, I'm just going to do it too. Because I love you." Ryan smiled and kissed Maya.
"God, I love you too Maya." Maya grinned.
"And hey, I am really sorry for taking so long to tell you. I appreciate you and your patience so much baby." Ryan shrugged. She wasn't mad because she knew Maya wasn't trying to avoid telling her anymore. The two just had too much fun when together, she was sure Maya didn't know when to say it or even bring it up.
"It's okay, I understand. But you'll have to make it up to me." Maya raised her eyebrow.
"What is it Ryan?" Ryan grinned and shrugged. "You're not fucking hungry already are you?" Ryan frowned.
"No! I'm not, I was thinking of later you can make pizza." She grumbled. "Always judging me." Maya laughed and kissed Ryan's cheek.
"Only because I love you."
~
The next morning, Ryan woke up before Maya. She went downstairs, looking for something to eat and there was Dylan.
"Oh... hey dude. Just looking for food." Dylan nodded towards the stove.
"I cooked for you guys." She nodded.
"Coffee?"
"The machine's right there." Ryan didn't want any coffee, but she knew Maya needed it to wake up in the mornings. So she began to make Maya's coffee. "So you and Maya seem to be pretty serious."
"Yeah, we are."
"It surprised me at first. Seeing Maya so into someone. She hates telling people how she feels about them, even family." Ryan nodded.
"I know. She was a little awkward and uncomfortable at first, but we're easing into it. She's gotten way better, but I couldn't love her more for it. She is who she is, and I like it." Dylan smiled and Ryan shrugged.
"Just saying. When she was younger, her father had taken care of the both of us for a while. Then, he was sent off to war and we were left with my mother. She wasn't the most loving person. Maya didn't get much of the love from her parents she needed. But when her father came back he tried to make up for it." Ryan nodded.
"But it was hard for him to because he was injured badly from the war. She told me about it. They thought he wouldn't make it. Maya is a strong girl, I knew that when I first laid eyes on her."
"But what makes you different from other girls she's been with?"
"I don't know... I just genuinely love her. And I know she loves me too, without a doubt." Dylan nodded. Ryan finished making the coffee and she went to fix her a plate of food. She sat down and began eating.
"Just curious. Did she tell you what I do?" Ryan nodded. "Last night, I had a show at my club. And from there, I went home with one of my clients." Ryan raised her eyebrow.
"Do you enjoy what you do?"
"Yeah, it's invigorating. I never get bored, not to mention I get pleasure and money in it. Especially when you have those rich clients who want more and become your sugar daddy or cougar." Ryan laughed at him.
"Sounds eventful." He eyed her.
"Are you sure you don't want to do it?" He asked her. Ryan was going to say yes, she was sure, but someone beat her.
"She's sure Dyl." Maya wrapped her arms around Ryan's waist and kissed her cheek. Ryan, stopped eating and turned around.
"Goodmorning babe. I made you some coffee." She told her, kissing her lips.
"Thank you." Maya went to the coffee and took a sip, closing her eyes and humming.
"Is it that good?" Dylan asked her, raising his eyebrow.
"It's amazing." They laughed and Ryan walked over to the other counter with the food Dylan cooked. She began to fix Maya's plate. "Are you fixing mine or another for you?" Maya asked.
"For you." Ryan laughed, though she did want a bit more. She wouldn't eat all of Dylan's food this quickly.
"Well, thank you." Ryan handed her the plate and smiled before going back to her own plate.
"I'll need the two of you dressed when you're done. The tour of the city will start as soon as you're ready." Ryan finished eating and began to wash her plate. "Oh, and that's not necessary." Dylan told her, smiling. Ryan raised her eyebrow and nodded.
"Okay, then... I'm going to go get dressed." Ryan kissed Maya's cheek. She wanted to let Maya and Dylan have their own time together instead of always being around. Besides, she needed to call her parents and Seth.
She went to their room and sat on the bed. She sighed before pulling out her phone. She already had three missed calls from her mother. A smile formed on her face and she pressed the notification to call her mom back.
"Sweetie! Why don't you ever answer your phone?"
"I was eating breakfast Mom."
"Your phone still rings no matter-"
"It was on silent."
"Well put the damn ringer on Ryan." She laughed and did as her mother said, hearing her father fuss at her for cursing at Ryan.
"Tell Dad I said hi and I love him." Mrs. Walker repeated what was said and she heard her father's reply.
"How are you liking Florida?"
"It's great Mom, like insanely beautiful."
"Is it now? What do you want to tell me?" Ryan sighed, she didn't think her mother was that observant.
"Well... Maya and I are going to look at colleges here." Ryan murmured.
"WHAT?"
"I told you." She heard her father say in the background.
"Honey, what happened to staying home?"
"Mom, I... I like it here."
"You're following Maya, and as much as I like her honey, I don't think that's the smartest thing." Ryan knew her mother was right, but she argued instead.
"I-I'm not following her. I just like Miami and well-"
"Ryan, you don't have to argue. I already know... and I understand why you want to do it. But I just want you to know that's what you want. I mean, this is your first time really being away from home and you're already making decisions like this."
"It isn't really a decision Mom, I was just making it an option. I didn't say I was going here, I just want to tour the colleges near." But she was sure she'd like one, no doubt about it.
"Okay Ryan. I know how you are, just think about it."
"Yes ma'am." Ryan said, quitting. There was no sense in arguing when she was right. "So are you guys fine without me?"
"We miss you, come back home now." Her Dad said in a high pitched voice. "No, we're great Ry. It's only been a day. Have some fun, don't worry about us." Ryan laughed.
"Just making sure, Dad."
"We love you honey, enjoy yourself. And please think more about what I said."
"Okay. Love you guys. Bye." Ryan hung up the phone and sighed, deciding to text Seth instead.
Hey bro, Miami's great. Even thinking about chilling here longer... maybe college. Who knows.
She looked around the room, deciding to start getting dressed. The door opened just as she opened her suit case.
"Well, Dylan's going to take us around the city. I don't exactly know what he means by that but I don't care. I want to see more, don't you?" Ryan nodded, smiling.
"Of course I do."
"Did you call your parents?"
"I did. They're doing fine." Ryan told her, but she still thought about what her mom was telling her. Of course wanting to be in Miami was natural when her girlfriend was going. But... she liked it anyway. No, she wouldn't be trying to go to college there if Maya wasn't here, but did that matter?
Maya raised her eyebrow at Ryan, confused.
"Is it a bad thing that I want to look at the colleges here because you're coming here?" Maya shrugged.
"I don't think it is. Did your mother say something about it?"
"Yeah... she was just saying that I'm following you and it isn't the smartest thing to do. I am... in a way following you, but I do like it here anyway. Would I come if you weren't, no. But, I'd like it regardless of if you were coming..." Maya stared at her and then looked away, thinking.
"I mean, she's right. It isn't the smartest thing to do. If we were to break up, things wouldn't be the same for you. You'll be in an unfamiliar place with only me, an ex, here. Let's be serious, if you and I were to break up, it wouldn't be easy for either of us. Especially you because you'll have no one else here. Don't get me wrong though, I want you here with me badly Ryan. But, I also want the absolute best for you baby. It's all up to you." Ryan sighed and nodded.
"I guess I have time to decide. I can still tour them and apply, but also apply for the ones back home."
"That sounds like the best idea." Ryan kissed Maya's cheek.
"Thanks for telling me the truth baby." Maya winked at Ryan and slapped her butt.
"No problem. I sent you up here to get ready, go ahead and start doing that." Ryan laughed and shook her head.
"Alright. But hey, I know it's possible for us to break up in the future, because things just happen. But I don't want to ever let you go. And if it ever comes to things being like that, you know I'd do everything and anything to have you back." Maya looked away awkwardly and Ryan sighed. "I'm sorry, I know we haven't said things like that to each other, but Maya you're such an amazing woman. Maybe that's why in my mind it's so easy for me to say I'll come here with you with no hesitation. I've never loved anyone like I love you. And I know things will just get better from here, I just feel it. Like everything always seems right babe. I don't know... Just forget about it, I'll get dressed." Ryan shook her head, thinking that Maya wasn't ready to hear stuff like that yet. Ryan went to the bathroom, wondering why she'd said all of that to Maya. It wasn't a lot, but she knew it was a lot for Maya.
The bathroom door flew open and Ryan saw hair flying and Maya tackled her into a hug. Literally tackled, they landed on the ground. Maya looked down at Ryan embarrassed and Ryan laughed, pushing Maya's hair out of her face. So beautiful, damn.
"Did you once again forget how fucking strong you are?" Ryan asked, smirking.
"Shut up... I just wanted to... I-I don't know... Ryan, I don't want to let you go either you know. I love you just as much and I want you to come here and live with me too." Maya looked away from Ryan shyly. "I love having you around. We could start a life here..." Ryan's smile grew crazily and leaned up to kiss Maya. Maya met her lips, laying Ryan down more. Onto the bathroom floor. "I guess it isn't so bad. Making out on the bathroom floor. As long as it's with you." Maya pulled back, shaking her head at Ryan.
"Ryan, why?"
"I'd have sex with you on this bathroom floor." Maya rolled her eyes and got up.
"Let's get dressed, Dyl's probably waiting for us." Ryan held her hand out for Maya to help her up. After Maya helped her up, Ryan pulled her into her arms. Maya sighed, but smiled. "Ryan." Ryan laughed and raised her eyebrow.
"What?" Maya shrugged, throwing her head back.
"You gonna let me go?" Ryan shook her head. She kissed Maya once more, leaving one on Maya's neck.
"I'm glad we talked about this babe. I'm glad you can tell me how you feel." Maya smiled and cupped Ryan's cheek.
"Even when I don't, just know that I do love you and appreciate you. A lot."
"Aww, look at my girl." Ryan said, winking. Maya laughed and rolled her eyes. "Thanks Maya." She said seriously before letting Maya go. "I guess we can get ready now, Dylan probably thinks we were sexing." Maya ignored her and went to the room. "Though in the time of this mushy thing we could've had a quickie... shit, I should stop being emotional."
"Ryan shut up and get dressed." Ryan grinned and shrugged.
"I guess it was worth it."
"Better be."
~
"So what do you two think about the city?"
"It's actually great Dyl. I like how close we are to the water here."
"Yeah... I'm in love." Dylan laughed at Ryan's amazed response. They were driving close to Miami beach. It was the most beautiful scene Ryan had ever seen. She was pleasantly shocked. She knew she liked it at first but now... things were different.
"I guess you guys will need to go there before you leave. Just so I can make sure you definetly come back." Dylan said. "I was surprised too. The pictures you see don't do it justice."
"Yeah, you're right."
"Ready to see the station?" Maya nodded and Ryan looked down at her phone texting Seth back.
So you two professed how important the other is and now you really want to go there? Ryan sighed, but answered.
Dude, it's not even just that. I just think she's good for me... I think it's good for me to be with her. Not to mention Miami is sickkkkkk
She sent the message and looked up to meet brown eyes peering at her through Dylan's mirror. Maya looked away as soon as Ryan caught her and Ryan laughed quietly. Wasn't Maya just the cutest?
Yeah but what's to happen if you see someone else again, like with Ellie? Or she does? I'm not trying to talk shit, but you need to think about these things. Ryan pursed her lips and put her phone down.
She'd thought of this already, plenty of times. But... she didn't want to dwell on it again. Nothing was ever guaranteed. That's something people need to remember. And taking risks... sometimes you have to do that to be happy.
