Gifts and Crazy

Ryan sighed as she packed up her clothes. Two days from now, she'll be going with Maya to Florida. She was so excited, but Seth was annoying her.

"Are you sure about going with this girl?" Seth asked her, turning in circles on her computer chair.

"One hundred percent." She told him tiredly.

"I'm just wondering, I haven't met her yet. Just thought I'd get the chance to." He mumbled, looking at his fingers. Ryan looked at him and frowned. Was he really hurt about this? Well, she did usually let him meet her girlfriends. He hadn't even seen what Maya looked like.

"I'm sorry bro." She told him. "I'll make sure the two of you meet. Actually, I'll ask her now." He looked up at her.

"Really?" Ryan laughed and nodded.

"Absolutely." Seth grinned and got up to hug her.

"I knew you loved me!" Ryan laughed and hugged him tightly too. She sighed and hummed.

"We'll be friends forever right? Even when you go off to freaking Yale or whatever, you'll come back and we'll be friends?" Seth pulled back and looked at her.

"No, we won't. Because we're family. Yes, I'll come back. We'll always be close Ryan." She grinned and hugged him again.

"Great man, that's great." She pulled back and took a deep breath. "I'm going to text Maya now about you meeting her. I know you're going to the party tonight, so I'll make it quick."

"Why won't you go too?" Seth asked her. Ryan shrugged, texting Maya.

"I just wanted to hang out with my girlfriend." Seth waved her off.

"Or you could come to the party? You're going to be with her for a whole week in Florida. The least you could do is come to the party." Ryan stared at him and Maya answered her.

Sure, I'm just getting off of work. Want me to come over?

Yeah, if you feel like it? If not we can meet you somewhere.

No, that's fine. I'll see you when I get there.

"She's coming here. I...mean you're right about me having time with her but you're going to be with your girls for the party and so will Zion. You two will leave me alone and then what? You know I hate too many people."

"Just you and I, Ryan. Like we used to." She raised her eyebrow.

"Like we used to. You promise?"

"Have I ever lied to you?" She smiled. He hasn't, that's the good thing.

"Okay, I'll go."

"That's what I'm talking about Ry." She laughed and sighed. She looked at her desk, seeing a little box, wrapped up. "You going to give that to her anytime soon?" Seth asked her.

"Yeah, I wanted it to be sorta special though. I didn't want to make her think I bought it just because everyone thought I was cheap. But because I saw it and thought of her. It's not much anyway."

"But you spent almost one hundred dollars on it." Ryan shrugged. It took a lot for her to buy it. But it was for Maya, it was worth it.

"I did. It was actually more than one hundred. Ended up being one hundred, two dollars, and twenty three cents." She mumbled. Seth shook his head and laughed at her. He sighed and ruffled up her hair.

"I'm glad you like her so much little one." Ryan rolled her eyes.

"You're younger than me."

"But I'm bigger." She rolled her eyes and looked at the small box once more. "She won't think you just bought it for that reason. She'll understand." Ryan looked up at him and nodded.

"Thanks man." They sat in Ryan's room until they heard the doorbell ring. "You can stay here." She told Seth before leaving the room. She tried to contain her excitement as she walked down the stairs. Her dad had opened the door and there stood Maya. Her breath was taken away as she saw her police officer at the door.

"Hey Mr. Walker." Maya said to Ryan's dad.

"Hey Maya. You guys have fun." He walked away and Ryan pulled Maya into her.

"Wow, you look so sexy." Ryan told her before leaning up to kiss her. Maya smiled and ran her hands down Ryan's arms.

"Thank you baby."

"How was work?" Ryan asked her.

"It-" The doorbell rang and Ryan frowned.

"Sorry. Didn't think anyone else was coming." She muttered. She opened the door and Ellie stood there worriedly.

"Ryan!"

"Hey... what're you doing here?" She shrugged and looked inside.

"I was coming by to talk to you, but I saw the police here. Are you okay?" Ryan nodded slowly.

"Yeah..."

"Is it your mom?" Ellie asked her.

"No. Everyone's okay."

"Then why's the police here? Can I come inside?" Ryan looked back at Maya who's eyebrow was raised. She began walking towards them and Ryan looked at Ellie.

"This is my girlfriend..." Ryan told Ellie. Maya let out a breath and smiled.

Ellie's mouth dropped and her face turned down to a frown.

"So this is who you left me for? This is who you fell for when you were still supposed to be in love with me?"

"I am her girlfriend. I know you're probably hurt but-"

"I wasn't talking to you whore." Maya's eyes widened. Ryan shook her head. Yes, she cared for Ellie, but she didn't want anyone talking to Maya that way. Ryan opened her mouth to say something but Maya beat her.

"Look, you can be mad but don't start that bullshit. I'll try to be civil with you as long as you do the same." Ryan was going to say something to agree with her, but Ellie began talking. She couldn't help but notice the authority Maya had in her voice. Something she'd never really heard from her. Maybe it was her police voice. Haha police voice, whatever. My girl's just strong as shit.

"I don't care about what you have to say! It's that simple. You're irrelevant and Ryan will get tired of you soon enough. I was her first love and she'll never forget me." Ryan's mouth dropped and Maya got angry. She began walking towards Ellie as she spoke.

"She left you for me. She fell in love with me while with you. What does that tell you?"

"Exactly what I said, that you're a whore. You stole her from me. She doesn't even really love you." Ryan shook her head just as Maya was going to say something.

"Enough!" She yelled. She looked at Ellie angrily. "You're not gonna come into my fucking house and talk to her like that! I don't care what you came for, you can leave!"

"But Ryan, please just-" Ryan stood in front of her, livid.

"LEAVE!" She yelled at her. Ellie frowned, tears filling her eyes.

"Ryan, you really don't care for me anymore?" Ryan's eyes softened and Ellie sighed. "I love you so much, I can't get over you."

"Ellie, I don't love you like that anymore. And you can't come here being an asshole to my girlfriend and expect me to be nice to you. Anyway, She's a great person. I'm the one who hurt you." Ellie threw her hands up.

"How don't you love me? I can't get over you." Ryan felt so bad for her.

"I just think that there are certain people made for us. I'm not who you should be with. Like I said. I pissed you off all the time, I never wanted to talk with you about my problems, I hated spending money on you, and I hated to go places with you. Maya takes all of my flaws and she embraces them. She loves them. Find someone who likes to go places with you, who likes to spend money on you. Who really loves you. Please try to move on Els." She stared at Ryan and she cried even harder. She hugged Ryan tightly.

"I'm going to miss you. I have missed you. I wish more than anything it was you I could be with. But I get it. I won't try to get you back again. Bye." She left the house and didn't look back. Ryan stood there, watching her, sadly. Ryan hated that she broke Ellie's heart. If only there was a way for everyone to be happy.

She felt a hand on her waist and Maya pulled her into a hug. Ryan sighed and hugged Maya back tightly.

"It isn't your fault you fell for someone else. And it isn't her fault either. It's just... the way things are." Maya mumbled, rubbing her back.

"I know. I wish I didn't hurt her."

"Every time a decision is made, there will be people who aren't happy. But, I understand why you feel that way." Maya pulled back and kissed Ryan's forehead. "You handled that well though." Ryan smiled and shrugged, feeling better already.

"I know. I mean, what can I say? I'm your knight in shining armor." Maya laughed loudly but kissed her.

"Oh yeah, definitely." She said sarcastically, making Ryan smile wider. "Made for each other?" Maya mumbled on Ryan's lips.

"You know it." Maya grinned and kissed Ryan once more. "I left Seth up there." Maya laughed and nodded.

"I guess we should go up there then." Ryan grabbed her hand and squeezed it tightly.

"We will. You know, although I feel bad about Ellie, I'll never regret loving you. I'll never regret being with you." Maya hugged her tightly.

"Good." They walked up the stairs, hand in hand to Ryan's room. "I wonder how bad it looks in here." Maya said. She'd never been in Ryan's room.

"Not too bad." Ryan laughed and opened he door. Seth was playing Ryan's Xbox and he looked up. He stood up when he saw the two of them. "Seth, this is Maya, Maya, this is Seth." He walked towards them, surprised.

"Good God you're... how did Ryan even get you to go out with her? And how the hell are you Zion's sister?" Ryan frowned, but shrugged. He had a point. Maya was outstandingly gorgeous and Ryan was pretty average. Zion was just ugly.

"Shut up Seth." They all laughed and Ryan looked at the two of them. "It is nice for my best friend to meet my girlfriend." She smiled widely. "It's awkward though because we have nothing to talk about." They laughed again and shrugged. They talked a little, about random things. About Ryan and Maya, Ryan and Seth, and even Maya's job.

"Well, I have to go because you guys took so long downstairs. It was nice to meet you Maya. Ryan, tell me later what happened when we get to the party." Ryan nodded and they hugged.

"Okay man, I'll see you later. Drive safe." He nodded and left. Ryan looked at Maya and she smiled. She grabbed Ryan's hand and squeezed it.

"Going to a party tonight instead of coming over?" She teased.

"Yeah, he just asked me to go earlier. I'll come over afterwards?"

"And I get to deal with drunk Ryan." Ryan laughed.

"I'm not that bad while drunk babe."

"No, you're just really sweet." Which was true. Ryan was emotional in a good way when she's drunk. One time Maya brought them drinks, she kept telling Maya how much she loved her and what she loved about her even more than when she isn't drunk.

"You like it though." Maya smiled and shrugged. "I bought something for you a while back. I wanted to wait to give it to you, but I have nothing else to wait for so." Ryan shrugged and grabbed the box from the shelf.

"Ryan, why'd you-"

"I don't know, I saw it and thought you'd like it. Just a token of my appreciation. Me telling you I've accepted you being a cop and support you one hundred percent." Maya opened it and grinned.

"Wow Ry, this is nice." She said, inspecting the gift. Ryan bought her a tactical knife, with a blue stripe down the middle. On the other side of the knife was ROSE with an engraved rose. "I love it, it's awesome." She hugged Ryan tightly. "Thank you so much. I know it probably costed-"

"Don't mention it." Ryan mumbled. "Yes, the knife was expensive. And it hurt to take the money out of my pocket. But for you, it was worth it." Maya smiled and kissed her.

"You're so sweet Ry." She mumbled on her lips. "I love you so much."

"I love you too baby." Ryan told her looking up at Maya's eyes. "And those beautiful eyes." Maya smiled and rolled her eyes.

"Don't even start it." They laughed and Ryan grabbed Maya's hand.

"You can keep acting like you don't like me saying things like that, but you do." Maya laughed and kissed Ryan once more.

"No comment. In two days, we'll be in Florida."

"Yes we will. I'm so excited to get to see what my girl's future will look like."

"I'm looking at it." Ryan blushed and laughed.

"Oh God, you're starting to be like me." Maya laughed and shrugged. Ryan was happy she was getting comfortable with things like that. She knows there's people in the world who just don't like things like that, but she doesn't think that's the case with Maya.

"I brought up Florida because I need to talk to you about a few things." Ryan nodded. "I want you to meet my brother while we're there." Ryan's eyes widened.

"Really? Wow, that's... it'll be cool."

"I-I mean, if you don't think it'd be too weird?"

"No! No, of course not. I'm just surprised is all." Maya raised her eyebrow.

"Why? I mean, you and I are a serious couple. I just thought-"

"Yeah, I know babe, I just didn't expect it. I didn't think you'd want me to so quickly since I didn't even know about him. I still don't but..." Ryan shrugged.

"Well, I love you Ry and I trust you more than anyone. There's no one better to have meet him or to go through the whole experience of Florida with." Ryan smiled.

"I'm glad you feel that way." Ryan said, kissing her quickly.

"I wanted to tell you more about him too. Think we can do that another time?"

"Of course babe."

"Can I stay around until you go to the party?"

"That's what I was hoping for. Get comfortable." Maya had already taken off all of the belt with all her weapons and supplies.

"You asking me to strip?"

"Maybe I am." Ryan shrugged. They laughed and Ryan unbuttoned Maya's shirt. "I'm not trying to seduce you, just making you more comfy." They laughed and Maya pulled her boots off. "There we go." Ryan said, satisfied. "Hungry?" Maya laughed and shook her head.

"No, thank you babe. But I'm not always hungry like you are. Are you hungry?" Ryan shrugged and pulled Maya to her bed.

"Doesn't matter." She laughed a little. Maya glanced over at her knife on Ryan's nightstand and smiled a little. Ryan was happy that Maya did really like it. "I'm really glad you like it Maya." Ryan told her softly.

"I love it Ry. I've wanted one better than the one I have and this one is absolutely beautiful. Not to mention it's got my name engraved in it and it's from my favorite person." Ryan smiled widely.

"Good. Well that exceeded what I thought you'd say." The two conversed and watched tv until Ryan was too hungry.

"Well why didn't you get up and get food?" Maya asked her.

"I didn't feel like getting up. I wanted us to talk and cuddle a bit more but my stomach couldn't handle it." Maya rolled her eyes but laughed. They went downstairs and Ryan's father was making a sandwich. "Make it two old man." She told him. He groaned jokingly.

"I was almost done with mine now I have to make another." Ryan nodded.

"Yup, now chop chop." He laughed and shook his head.

"How are you Maya?"

"I'm good, you?"

"Good minus my nagging, demanding daughter." They laughed and Ryan rolled her eyes.

"Whatever old man."

It was time for Ryan to go to the party now and they stood at Maya's car.

"Coming straight over afterwards?"

"Yes ma'am."

"And you're not driving?"

"No, I'm not."

"And you'll be careful?"

"Always baby girl." Maya smiled and pulled Ryan's waist closer to hers.

"Last but not least, let them know that you're taken." Ryan held Maya's waist tightly.

"And I don't want anyone else but you." Maya sighed and her arms went around Ryan's neck.

"My sour patch, so sweet." Ryan smiled and kissed her. She held Maya against the unit vehicle firmly. She leaned her head down and kissed Maya's neck softly.

A car horn blew and Ryan looked over to see Seth's car. She knew for sure Zion was in there, probably grossed out.

"I love you baby." Ryan told Maya, smiling a little.

"I love you too Ry. Have fun." Ryan nodded.

"It's gonna start as soon as I get in the car and hear your brother whining about how gross this is." Maya laughed and rubbed Ryan's back.

"Of course. Bye." Ryan kissed Maya's cheek and pulled back.

"See you later." She said, walking to the car. She got in the front seat and Zion was arguing with Seth.

"Dude you've known about them for this long and you still aren't used to it?"

"I don't have a problem with it, it's just weird. I like them together, Ryan's good for her. But seeing my best friend almost fucking my sister isn't the easiest thing."

"I know, but you'll get over it. Just imagine if it was someone worse."

"Like her fucking ex." Ryan mumbled.

"True enough." Zion agreed. "Ready for Florida?"

"Am I? We can finally have somewhere to ourselves without you being kicked out and running over."

"Seriously Ryan?" She laughed a little.

"I'm kidding man. I'm so ready to go to Florida. Anywhere with your sister is great. I think I might go to college out there."

"Wow, really?" Ryan nodded.

"Yeah... I wanna be with my girl." She mumbled, thinking about it.

"It'd be nice there." Seth said. Ryan nodded. She was sure of that already.

At the party, Ryan drank too many drinks. She was dancing and yelling and laughing. Then Ellie came over to her.

"Wonder what your girlfriend thinks of this." Ellie said, smirking.

"She doesn't care! I'm going there now. She's so sweet and understanding. I love her so much. Did you know she's got the cutest smile? Oh! And have you heard her laugh? You'd love it. Everyone does. Well, I do." Ryan said grinning. She picked Ellie up and spun her in the air. "Have a great night Ellie. I kinda wanna go see Maya now." She walked away from Ellie and ran to the table where Seth and Zion were. They were doing body shots off this girl.

It'd be nice to do that with Maya!

"Hey Zion, what're you doing man?" Zion looked at her.

"Trying to find the perfect girl!" Ryan laughed.

"Oh I've got one of those! Good luck finding one. Hey, you think Maya would pick me up from here?" Zion shrugged.

"Yeah, especially since it's you." Ryan nodded and danced in celebration.

"I'm so excited to see her. Seth!" He walked away from the table and came over to her. "I'm going to call Maya to pick me up, I don't need a ride."

"Okay, Ryan you're so fucked up you know?" Ryan nodded quickly and he laughed. "Alright, call her and come back to get me, I'll walk you outside."

"Okay!" She said and ran somewhere quiet.

She called Maya and she answered quickly.

"Ry?"

"Hey baby! Whatcha doing?" She heard Maya laugh.

"Nothing, just waiting for you."

"Well, I was thinking that you could probably pick me up. If not I'll walk, but Seth can bring me too. I'm just ready to see you. You're just so beautiful, I need to see you."

"Oh goodness, baby, where are you?"

"Uhh... I can send you my location?" Maya laughed.

"Okay, I'll be right there."

"Okay my love, I'll see you then! I can't wait. I love you so much." Ryan said sighing.

"I love you too Ry." Ryan hung up and smiled widely. She ran over to Seth and he was kissing some girl. She shrugged and waited until he was done. They pulled back and Seth turned his head to Ryan and raised his eyebrow at her.

"She's coming to get me!" Ryan told him, smiling. He nodded and looked at the girl.

"I've got to walk my sister out. I'll find you later?" The girl nodded and kissed him one last time. Ryan shrugged. Well, at least she's cute. Sorta. My girl's cuterest. She frowned to herself, thinking about what she said. Cuterest... hmmm, new word. Seems cool enough.

Seth looked at her and she smiled.

"Ready?" He nodded and threw his arm around her leading her out. They passed by Ellie, who stared at Ryan for a while before looking away. Ryan didn't notice, she was just happy to be going home to Maya.

They got outside and she and Seth sat on the curb.

"Hey Seth, you know that you're not supposed to have sex with drunk girls?" He laughed and nodded.

"Yeah... I know. I promise I won't." Ryan nodded.

"Okay, just making sure. Wouldn't want Maya to have to arrest you. She's a sexy cop." He laughed.

"I'll miss you when you we separate Ry. I love you."

"We'll never truly separate Seth. We may go different ways but we're always together. Got that? But I love you too." She pinched his cheeks and he smiled.

"Yeah, I got that."

"That means don't make another best friend while you're there."

"No one can replace you Ryan."

"No one can replace you either Seth. You're a really good friend. I haven't always been the best, but you're always there for me. Thank you." Maya's truck rolled up in front of them and she got out. The two stood up and Ryan ran into Maya's arms. "My baby. I've missed you so much gorgeous." Maya smiled and hugged her.

"Thank you for bringing her out." Maya told Seth. He nodded and smiled.

"Ready to go home love?" Maya asked Ryan.

"Never been more ready!" Ryan kissed her and ran to the other side of the truck. She jumped in and Maya laughed, getting in on her side.

Ryan reached over and grabbed Maya's hand as she drove.

"Crazy that you pick me up after I've been thinking of you all night!" Ryan told her.

"Ry, you called me to pick you up." Maya told her, laughing a little.

"Oh yeah! I forgot already. I was so happy to see you, I forgot why you came." Ryan laughed and laid her head on Maya's arm. "You smell so nice."

"Thank you baby."

"You're welcome sweetie." Ryan stayed there quietly, savoring the feeling of being close to Maya. She was so happy Maya picked her up.

They made it to Maya's house and Ryan had some troubles getting up the stairs.

"Didn't think I was that drunk." She mumbled as she stumbled inside the apartment.

"You definitely are. I'll go fix you something to eat." Maya told her.

"I'll come with you! I like to watch you cook. You have the cuterest facial expression ever." Maya looked at her amused.

"Cuterest?" Ryan nodded.

"I made it up tonight, while I was thinking of you."

"That's so sweet Ry." Ryan smiled and shrugged.

"I know." She said twisting on her toes with her hands together. Maya laughed and kissed her.

"You're so cute."

"I think you're cuterest. You're the cutest girl I've ever laid eyes on, you know? No one compares to you." Maya rubbed Ryan's back, her eyes shining.

"Is that so?"

"Yup!" Maya laughed Ryan kissed her. "What're you gonna cook for me?"

"Grilled chicken sandwich?" Ryan's eyes lit up.

"I can't wait! You make the best food ever. I love being here with you. I wish I could stay with you forever." Maya's face heated up and she began cooking. "Don't you think that'd be great?"

"Yeah baby, I agree." Ryan nodded. She stood behind Maya and wrapped her arms around her waist as she cooked. Maya sighed and relaxed into it. "Was the party fun?"

"Yeah, I just drank and danced. Seth and Zion were doing body shots. They were having fun. Oh and we played truth or dare and they dared me to kiss Zion so I lost because I didn't wanna." Maya laughed and shook her head.

"What'd they make you do instead?"

"I was supposed to show them my boobs but Seth distracted them and they were so drunk, I left."

"This is why I don't like teenagers."

"Minus me."

"Well, I don't just like you, I love you." Ryan grinned.

"You're the sweetest baby." Ryan said kissing Maya's shoulder. "I'm so lucky to have you, you know?"

"I'm lucky to have you too Ry."

"But I'm even more lucky to have you." Maya laughed.

"Is that so?"

"One hundred percent baby. I'm never going to ever let you go. You're gonna be my girl forever and ever. I'll never love anyone as much as I love you. I promise." Maya tensed up then relaxed. She stopped making the sandwich and turned around in Ryan's arms. She stared at Ryan. "What's wrong?" Ryan asked her. Maya shook her head and caressed Ryan's cheek softly. Then she kissed Ryan's cheek.

"Nothing baby. I love you more than anything. I won't let you go either." Ryan smiled widely and kissed her. "Thank you."

"For what?" Ryan asked her.

"For being you." Ryan grinned and shrugged.

"You're welcome! If it makes you happy, I can do that all the time!" Maya laughed and hugged her tightly.
