"I hate you...I hate you...Oh look at that, I even hate you! It's absolutely insane how I hate everyone here." Ryan mumbled to herself as she walked through her school's parking lot. Students huddled around cars in groups, laughing and talking with each other.

She wondered how every morning last year they seemed to be outside. But now, it was a new year.

It was pouring rain just five minutes ago, yet now it isn't. Ryan was soaking wet. She'd forgotten her umbrella on her walk to school.

"God just decided to pour a bucket of water all over me huh?" She thought to herself, shaking her head. "It's my lucky day!" She muttered lowly.

"Talking to yourself again?" Her best friend, Seth asked, throwing his arm around her shoulder.

Seth was a fair skinned guy with brown hair that almost covered his ocean blue eyes. His face was covered in freckles.

He and Ryan had been friends since childbirth; well, that's what he claimed. Their mothers were best friends who also grew up together.

"No." Ryan told him, rolling her eyes. He pulled at her earphones and she scowled at him. Ryan usually had earphones in her ears, she loved to listen to music.

"Leave my girlfriend alone." Ryan's frown turned into a smile as arms wrapped around her.

"Hey baby." She leaned down and kissed the girl, who's name was Ellie. Ellie was scolding HOT and captain of the cheerleading team. Ryan was surprised Ellie liked her, especially because she usually dated guys. She had straight blonde hair that cascaded down her back. Her body was absolutely perfect, just how Ryan liked.

Everything about Ellie was what Ryan liked.

"Hey there cutie." Ellie told her, playing with her necklace. The necklace was given to her by Ellie, for their seven month anniversary last week.

A flash of light pulled the two of them out of their trance and Ryan frowned.

"Yearbook pictures! The school's most popular couple." A short guy yelled excitedly to them.

"Fuck off." Ryan told him, frowning deeply. "The people here are annoying as shit." She mumbled. There's no way he's taking year book pictures, it's the beginning of the year.

"Tell me about it." Seth agreed, shaking his head. A girl passed by him and he grinned and pulled her into him. "Thought I wouldn't see you?" The girl giggled and put her hand on his chest.

"Just messing with you babe." She told him, standing on her toes and kissing him. This was Francesca, Seth's girlfriend. She was a short, pale girl with dyed black hair and green eyes.

"So, tonight you'll be at mine right? Date night?" Ryan asked Ellie.

"Wouldn't miss it for the world baby." Ryan smiled and kissed her. "As soon as I get from practice I'll be there and I can shower at yours too." Ellie's finger twirled around Ryan's long hair, making her grin.

"Is that like a hidden meaning or something, I'm a bit slow to catch on." Ellie rolled her eyes but laughed.

"Wow Ry, really?" Ryan laughed too and followed Ellie to her locker as Seth and Francesca went the other way. "How's your mom doing?" Ellie asked as she looked through her locker. Ryan's mother was a police officer. She'd been shot two weeks ago and had just gotten out of the hospital.

"She's doing great, her arm seems to be in good shape. Dad's been taking care of her." Ryan told her, though she wasn't sure. She hated that her mom was a police officer. She was always in so much danger, Ryan was always worried. She just wanted her mother to be safe.

In result of that, she hadn't talked to her mother as much since she was shot.

She knew her mother was hurt about it, but she herself was also hurt. She felt her mother didn't care about how she felt.

"That's great, I'm glad she's doing so well. I know how afraid you were when she-"

"I'm sorry to interrupt you, but I just don't want to talk about it." Ellie looked at Ryan with a frown, closing her locker. She cupped Ryan's cheek in her hand.

"You've been in a bad mood lately. Do you want to talk about it?" She'd asked Ryan this plenty of times, and she always said that she was fine. The words were ready to slip from her mouth again as Ellie shook her head. "Please don't tell me that you're fine. I love you Ryan, I'm worried. I've tried to give you space and everything else, but you don't seem to be doing better." Ryan stared down at her.

"Thank you for always being here Els. I love you too." Her lips pressed against Ellie's forehead. "But it's time to go to class." Ellie frowned even more.

"You're my girlfriend, you would think you'd be able to trust me." Ellie told her, stomping behind her.

"I do trust you, I just don't want to talk about it. Simple. I don't know how you don't understand that." She didn't hear a reply and she turned around to see Ellie going the other way. She sighed, debating with herself. Did she want to chase after Ellie?

Her feet did the job, running through the hall, finally catching her. She pulled Ellie into her arms, seeing tears running down her face.

"Leave me alone Ryan." Ryan wiped Ellie's tears, kissing her cheek.

"I'm sorry baby." Ryan whispered, leaning down and putting her face in Ellie's neck. "I don't treat you how I should. I don't appreciate you the way I should. I'll make it up to you, I promise." Ellie sighed and wrapped her arms around Ryan.

"How?" Ryan stood up straight and took Ellie's hand in hers.

"Let's go." She pulled Ellie through the hall, not hearing a single complaint. That's because Ellie was deeply hurt and Ryan knew it. She loved Ellie and wanted to work through their problems, but she hated telling people what was wrong with her.

Because then comes the pity and Ryan absolutely abhorred pity.

They broke through the double doors of the school, and Ellie finally spoke.

"Ryan, what're you doing?" Ryan turned around and pulled her close.

"I want to take you on that date now." Ellie was conflicted. She loved Ryan, but knew Ryan didn't feel bad about the argument.

"Are you going to tell me what was wrong?" Ryan stared at her, also conflicted. She cared so much about Ellie, but she also cared about her own feelings.

"Yes, I'll tell you. Give me your keys. We can go get my motorcycle. I'll make it up to you baby." She leaned down and kissed Ellie's neck, knowing it was a weak spot for her.

"Okay." She told her, gripping her shirt tightly. The two got in Ellie's car, and Ryan took Ellie's hand in hers.

"The truth is, I don't like my mom's job. I don't want her to be a police officer. I don't even talk to her anymore." Ellie looked at her surprised.

"But why?"

"Because I hate the job. She's always in danger, always getting hurt. What if one day I don't have my mom because of it?"

"Oh... I see why you don't like talking about it now. I wouldn't like it either if it was my mom. It must hurt."

"Yeah..." Ryan mumbled, surprised that Ellie had understood her. Her mom and dad had called her selfish instead, telling her that her mom was happy. She didn't see how her father was okay with his wife always having a bigger chance of dying than most people. She knew anyone could die, but she wished to God it wouldn't be her mother.

"Thank you for telling me." Ellie told her, squeezing her hand.

"Thank you for being persistent and listening." She put the car in park and leaned over to kiss Ellie. Ellie gripped her shirt tightly, pulling her closer. Ryan held Ellie's waist tightly, loving the feeling Ellie gave her. They pulled back and Ellie searched Ryan's eyes.

"How do I love you so much?" Ellie asked her. Ryan smirked and shrugged.

"I'm just that good baby." Ellie rolled her eyes but smiled. "I love you so much too Els. Let's go out. Then afterwards we can do whatever you want." Ellie grinned and her hands traveled down Ryan's shirt to her belt. Ellie leaned over and kissed her, sensually.

"Whatever I want, hmm?" She mumbled on Ryan's lips. Ryan's mind was exploding with emotions. She wanted to strip Ellie right there in that car. On the other hand, she knew that Ellie would never do that. She loved Ellie and really did want to make up for making her cry earlier, even more so than sex.

"Mhmm." Ellie smiled and pulled away from her.

"Let's go then, so that I can do whatever I want later." Ryan laughed and they got out of the car. Sometimes Ryan thought about how she and Ellie were before they'd gotten together.

Ellie was co-captain then, and had sex with random guys whenever she wanted. She never even looked twice at Ryan.

Ryan stayed at home, away from people. She never liked to go out, in fact she could go days without leaving her house. She was a virgin, but boy did she think Ellie was hot.

They got on Ryan's motorcycle and headed to Ellie's favorite nail shop. Ryan knew that Ellie couldn't exactly have fake nails because of cheer, but she did love for them to be painted. Not to mention she loved pedicures.

"The whole set, all on me." Ryan told her as they got off the bike.

"Thanks Ry! You're the best." Ellie said, pulling Ryan into a tight hug. It was a big deal because Ryan hated to spend money and Ellie knew it. She always made a big deal about paying for stuff and how hard she worked for her money just to spend it on worthless things.

"Of course babe. C'mon." With that, the two of them went into the shop.

Ellie explained to the worker what she wanted and they led her to the back. Another woman rang it up for Ryan.

"That'll be fifty five dollars." Ryan's eyes widened. She almost wanted to go to the back and tell Ellie never mind. But instead, she sighed and took the money from her pocket. She'd better be glad I love her... and I owe her. Ryan thought to herself. God this is so much to spend on something so stupid.

She made her way to the back, finding Ellie in the huge manicure chair. Ellie had a huge smile on her face and Ryan sighed. Maybe it isn't so stupid.

She smiled and sat in the empty chair beside her.

"Happy?" Ryan asked her and she sighed.

"Sooo happy, thanks to you." Ryan leaned over and kissed her cheek softly.

"Anything for you baby." Ryan sat there patiently while Ellie got her package deal, she and Ellie exchanging some conversation.

"What're we doing after this?" Ellie asked her. Ryan had originally wanted to take her to eat, but man was this expensive. She'd never paid for Ellie to get her nails done, Ellie usually did it herself. But, at the same time, it wasn't even close to lunch time so she could get away with it.

"I don't know, what do you want to do? I know you have to get back to school for practice at 2." Ellie nodded.

"It's only ten o'clock now. Do you want to go to my house until it's time?" She asked Ryan.

"Is that what you'd like?"

"Yeah, and we can watch movies if you're not up for... anything else." Ryan smiled at her, she was so sweet, worrying about Ryan's feelings. But Ryan loved sex and Ryan loved Ellie, and the two put together meant that she loved sex with Ellie. So, of course she had no problem with it.

"You're not getting away from me." Ryan told her. The woman doing Ellie's nails looked up at the two of them and started speaking to someone else in another language. The other woman looked between the two of them and replied, then they both started laughing. "I think they're laughing about us." Ryan mumbled to Ellie, laughing a little.

"Most likely, thanks Ry." She said sarcastically, laughing too.

"You started it though with the, 'Anything else'."

"Well... I guess that's true." She mumbled, thinking to herself.

Ryan stared at the girl beside her. A smile began to form onto her face. She was staring down at her nails as the woman did them, making sure no mistakes were made. Ryan wanted to laugh, but stopped herself. I guess it's not so bad spending money on her after all. I'm lucky to have her.

"Whatcha looking at?" Ellie asked, wiggling her eyebrows. Ryan kissed the edge of her mouth and mumbled in her ear.

"My girl. My beautiful, sexy girl." Ellie grinned.

"You're being really sweet today."

"I'm always sweet to you." Ryan said, frowning.

"Yeah, you are. But you just seem happier and more sincere overall. I mean I know when you say things, you mean it, but... today it's different."

"Just realizing how lucky I am to have you Els." Ellie blushed, which was something she rarely ever did.

"Aww Ry! I'm lucky to have you too baby." Ryan smiled widely, satisfied with how the day was going and satisfied with Ellie.

"Okay, you're done." The woman told Ellie. "Let them dry." The two stood and went to the drying station.

After the nails dried, the two began to walk to Ryan's motorcycle. Ellie pulled Ryan's hand and wrapped her arms around her neck.

"Thank you for that. I know you don't like spending money, it means a lot."

"I didn't mind it so much since it was you. But don't make it a habit." She winked at her and Ellie laughed.

"Come here." She said pulling Ryan's head down to hers. Their lips crashed together. Ellie gripped the back of Ryan's neck as Ryan pulled Ellie's hips to hers.

"Get a fucking room." A girl muttered angrily, stomping by. Ryan pulled back and laughed.

"I can't even get mad."

"Yeah, I do agree with her." Ellie told Ryan, smirking.

"You're always trying to have sex with me." Ryan joked with her as they got on the bike.

"We don't have to." She repeated from earlier.

"Oh yes we do."
