Chapter 7: Inside the between walls

"W-what, what is he talking about Julia?" Sam stutters out timidly.

I couldn't pursue to answer, I am busy processing what they said. If they are truly two psychopaths in here we might not make it out alive- Stop with the negativity we have to make it out alive, so we will fight.

"Julia?"

"Yes?" I look over at Liam while he has his arms crosses over his chest and his lips clamp together. "I know what we have to do..." I look at each of them inside the room as they wait on my response. "We have to fight."

Everyone is prepared to attack the psychos, come to think of it the manor has been quiet for a great while now. What are they doing and why isn't anything happening?

"Guys, isn't it a bit weird that it's so quiet?" I turn to look at my friends and they start to look around wondering the same thing. There is not one sound inside the manor except for Beth's heavy breathing, if a pin drops inside you could more likely hear it. The silence is getting us apprehensive because we have no idea where between the walls or inside this manor is any of the psychos.

I clutch onto my butcher knife as tightly as I can averting my eyes in all directions of the house. "Guys be prepared for anything," I could tell this is no ordinary silence something must be up and is about to happen at any minute.

"Did I mention that I saw-"

"Shh!" I hush Jamal as I think I hear something.

Clack!

I whip my head around to the sound so agile to see a bat flying around hitting against everything he flies upon. I sigh in relief calming down.

"As I was stating before, we uh, saw one of the psychos emerge from there," I look where he's pointing, and over next to the stairs is a wall, an ordinary board tin wall. I confusingly look at the guys. I know that the psychos might be between the walls but I dispute there is an entrance right there. "There is something behind that wall-"

"Unless we shouldn't know that there is an entrance," I make my way over to the wall and start examing it, and to my surprise, my hand catches a small opening. Surprisingly, I yank it open and it did. Astound I am I step back and look at it and I am looking directly at a wall with a hall. I turn to look at the group then turn to walk inside.

"Wait! Why are we going after them when we should be trying to find away from them?" Sam asks.

"How are we going to get out if we don't get the remote from them if we don't try getting it?" They all stay quiet looking at me knowing I have a point. "That's what I thought. Guys we all want to get out here alive but we have to make sacrifices to get out and one of the sacrifices is going after them even if it's risky. If it means I'm the only one going inside then so be it, but I am not going to stay here and not do anything to get out," I turn my back and walk inside and turn to close the board wall when I see them walking towards me.

"I am sorry Julia but I have to stay here with Beth," Jeff is holding Beth up before us and I nod in understanding. She's hurt and I understand that.

"That's fine but stay safe okay?" He nods and they turn away towards the living room. I look at the rest of the group, "Are you guys ready?"

"We don't have a choice, let's go," Liam says turning his phone flashlight on and walking inside. The others do the same and walk inside, I sigh turning to look at them and they are looking prepared for what we are about to witness. I may not be acting scared but the small hairs across my body stood on end and my heart is stumbling over its rhythm.

I venture to close the wall, I look at the last sight of light inside the manor before I can go inside the darkened wall then I slide the wall shut.
