Chapter 26: Back to Basics

Black was walking down the dorm room halls, looking for his new room. But his mind staid on his new enemy.

'Immortality.... This will be difficult. I'll have to rack this bodies memories for answers later. Maybe Vegeta will have a few ideas. But, right now its time to get Trunks and Gohan situated.'

Black kept walking down the halls until a pink and brown tackled him from out one of the open doors.

"Oh what the he-!" He screamed out as he went straight to the floor.

He looked up to find Neo hugging him around the waist.

"Neo?! Where have you been?!" Black asked the girl he hadn't seen in two-three days.

They both got up and she started to type furiously on her scroll.

She showed it to him once she was finished.

It read 'I was assigned to follow Professor Ozpin around Vale, then Miss Goodwitch caught me up on a few classes I hadn't taken since I just enrolled.'

Black shuttered at any time alone with Glynda Goodwitch.

"Well it sounds like you've had a fun few days. Wanna hear about mine?" He asked the small mute.

She nodded before starting to walk with him while he explained the last few days he had with team RWBY and the newest additions to Beacon which were now, his new team.

After a few minutes they had made it to his new dorm.

"So now I'm on a new team with Vegeta, Gohan, and Trunks. And no I don't think he'll kill me in my sleep if you were gonna ask." He told her while opening the door.

Neo let out a squeaky chuckle before nodding.

Black opened the door completely, only to be astonished by the room.

It was much wider than team RWBY's dorm with each of the four beds occupying the four corners of the dorm with a doors width between the heads of the ones on the sides that both had doors to an opened closet on one side and a bathroom on the other.

One of the walls by one of the beds had a bookshelf while another had a desk and the last two had a dresser and a large set of cabinets respectively. The back wall was dominated by a long console that held a projector and speakers with a large window behind it.

Gohan had taken the bed by the bookshelf in the bottom left corner of the room, Trunks had taken the one across from his that had a desk and Vegeta had taken the one by the cabinets in the top right corner of the room leaving the bed across from him open for Black.

Gohan looked up from a book he was reading to see Black starring in awe.

"Yeah, its a pretty awesome room isn't it?"

"Much more spacious than my old room." Vegeta said, laying on his own bed with his eyes shut.

"I can't believe it, its massive compared to the ones next door." Black said as he walked to the only open bed and sat down on it.

He let out a sigh when he sunk into the mattress "Oh, this is so much better than the stiff mattress they gave me to sleep in between team RWBY and JNPR's dorms."

"They only gave you a mattress?" Trunks asked him.

"Well, I had to sleep in between the two rooms so I guess that was the best they could do with such little room for another bed. Besides" Black gestured to the room around then, "it was only temporary."

Trunks shrugged then turned back to his own devices which happened to be a piece of his time machine.

Black noticed it, but he didn't know what it was apart of so he didn't say anything.

He felt a little pull on the left side of his bed and turned to find Neo sitting on his new bed with him.

"Something bothering you?"

Neo showed him her scroll which she had already typed something out on.

'Shouldn't you show the new guys around?'

Black sat up and looked at her "Neo, your a genius."

She smiled and put up two fingers to her face in a 'You know it' look.

"Trunks, Gohan come with me." Black quickly got up.

Both Gohan and Trunks looked at Black and asked him "Why?"

"I'm going to show you two around. Care to join Vegeta?"

Vegeta opened one eye before shutting it back again "I'll pass for your little 'adventure' Black. I'd much rather catch up on the sleep I missed during our little excursion to Mount Glenn."

"Suit yourself Vegeta." Black told him before walking out of their dorm with Neo, Trunks, and Gohan right behind him.

As they walked through the halls to get to their first stop Trunks was a little curious of the small girl who seemed to follow Black around like a puppy.

"Hey, Neo right, how do know Black?"

Neo looked at Trunks before looking down at her scroll and furiously typing.

"Uhhhhhh, are you gonna show me something on that phone-thing?"

Black overheard and decided to explain Neo's......... condition.

"Neo's a mute Trunks. She can't talk so she communicates through texts and what not."

"Ohhhh." Trunks felt a little bad for bringing up the topic.

Neo handed him her scroll.

It described the events that led up to Neo's acceptance into Beacon.

'Black saved someone's life at the risk of death? He's changed more than I thought if he tried to do that.' Trunks thought.

The only other words that were spoken were Blacks commentary on the rest of the school.

Though a few words were exchanged over the training room.

"And this is the new training room." Black stopper at the door. He figured that the half saiyans would be interested in having somewhere to let out their saiyan list for battle.

"New? How recent was it put in?" Gohan asked.

"Oh a few months back. I kinda destroyed the last one they had."

Trunks looked at him "You blew it up didn't you?"

"Well yeah, kinda. I haven't been back inside since the repairs were made but I've been told it is absolutely state of the art now."

Suddenly a noise of combat was heard from with in.

One of the voice screaming out over the sound of gunfire was a familiar one.

Black stopped for a moment to think.

"Care for a look inside?"

Gohan and Trunks nodded, curious of the way this worlds combatants managed to fight.

The four stepped inside to find that the training room combat area had been sunken into the floor unlike the last one and now walls and a set of stairs separated different rooms from the core area.

Team CFVY was training in the core area.

Gohan and Trunks watched in a dull curiosity of the way their team fought with swords and guns.

"Their not martial artists?" Gohan asked.

"Such a strange thing isn't? They just use weapons. Except for Yang of course but even she uses gauntlets to fire bullets. Vegeta and myself have been trying to fix that with little success." Black explained.

Velvet must have heard them because she turned and looked up and saw the four of them.

She grinned wide and started waving.

Neo returned the wave and started to bound down the steps.

During Blacks brief intermission from the Vytal ball shopping of Yang and Coco, Neo got to know Coco very well and actually stayed with their team a couple of times.

Black looked down and smiled at the group before turning back to his own teammates "This is team CFVY. One of the best second year teams at Beacon."

The rest of Velvets team stopped when Neo came down the stairs so they heard what he had to say.

"Awe Black, your gonna make Fox blush." Coco said.

"Coco, its nice to see you again." Black walked down the stairs.

"Coco, Fox, Yatsuhashi, Velvet these two are Gohan and Trunks, my new teammates." Black introduced the two saiyan hybrids.

"Oh, wow so you finally got your own team then?" Velvet asked him.

"That's right, Me, Trunks, Gohan, and Vegeta."

Cocos mouth dropped "You mean, Professor Vegeta?"

"Like anyone else named Vegeta is attending Beacon." Black retorted.

"That's so unfair!" Coco stomped her foot.

"Don't worry, were not participating in the Vytal Tournament." Black assured her.

Coco pumped her fist in happiness.

"Oh, that's the big tournament Father was talking about. He seemed pretty angry that he couldn't fight in it." Trunks spoke allowed.

"Father? Who's he talking about?" Coco asked.

"Oh, He's talking about Vegeta." Black told her.

Slowly Coco, Velvet, Fox, and Yatsuhashi's brains clicked into place like a clock striking noon.

"Professor Vegeta is your father?!" Velvet screamed out.

"Yes." Trunks said softly with a little embarrassment.

"Ya learn something new everyday." Black offered.

"So I guess that means tour pretty strong then?" Yatsuhashi (or just Yatsu as I will be calling him) asked Trunks.

"I'm not as strong as he is, but I like to think I'm making my way up to his level." Trunks told him.

Yatsu smiled "Then perhaps you and your blade would care to train with us."

"Oh, I would love to." Trunks replied happily.

Black smiled 'I'm glad he's taken a liking to this place. I'm afraid my past actions have caused him to much hardships, maybe he can find some joy here.'

"And what about you? Would you care to join us?" Yatsu asked Gohan.

Gohan smiled "It would be an honor. I haven't had a good sparing match in a while." Gohan pounded his left hand into his right hand.

"Boys, boys, perhaps we can visit this scene a bit later if you don't mind? After all I need to finish showing you both around so you don't get lost." Black stated.

Yatsu smiled and then politely bowed "Another time then."

Gohan, being the proper martial artist, followed suit with a bow.

Trunks quickly followed doing it as closely as he could to follow Gohans example.

"All right come on and you four" Black pointed to team CFVY "We'll be cheering you on at the tournament. Make sure to knock a couple heads for us."

Velvet smiled and nodded while Coco gave him a smug grin and a thumbs up. Yatsu and Fox nearly grinned at the thought.

The 3 Saiyans and the mute left to continue their tour.

They stopped by the cafeteria, the must have for any portion of Saiyan you may be, the major class rooms like Vegetas, Ports, Oobleck, and Goodwitch's, before they finally arrived at the visitors dorms.

"This is were all the tournament contenders are staying until after the tournament." Black explained.

"Well well look who it is." A voice called from behind them.

The group of four turned to find Cinder, Emerald, and Mercury standing behind them.

"Cinder, nice timing, I was just showing my new teammates around." Black told them while walking forward to shake Cinders hand.

"New teammates? So you were official given a team?" Cinder asked him.

"Yes, unfortunately our new status as teammates prohibits us from being in the tournament since we are so newly formed."

"That's to bad, it would have been fun to fight you." Mercury pounded his fists together in a similar way as Gohan did earlier.

"Well, why don't you introduce us?" Cinder asked.

"The tall one with the scar is Gohan, and the other one with the sword is Trunks." Black introduced them.

"Gohan, Trunks these are Cinder, Mercury and Emerald. Their from Haven if I recall correctly." Black told the two halflings.

"How many schools are participating in this tournament?" Gohan asked.

"All four of the major ones." Emerald told him.

"Interesting, to bad we can't have a proper match at the tournament." Gohan said.

"Why not? The training arena would be perfect for a match." Mercury told him.

Gohan grinned his fathers grin "I'd be more than happy to take you up on that."

"How about right after the tournament? I would want to get to badly hurt before any of my matches."

"Its on." Gohan replied.

"Well then it looks like you boys have hit it off quite well, we'll be seeing you all at the tournament." Cinder said before walking towards her teams dorm.

"See you there, I can't wait to see you guys in action." Black told her.

As the three of them walked off, Blacked concluded their tour with the library.

"And here is the library, where most of us hangout if were not in Vale or back at the dorms."

They heard a semi quiet yell of anger.

The rounded the corner and poked their heads out from behind a bookshelf to see team RWBY playing a war game.

"I hate this game!" Weiss shouted standing up.

"Hates a strong word for a board game Weiss." Black told her.

Team RWBY turned to see the four members.

"Oh, Hey Black." Yang waved to him.

"You showing the newbies around?" Ruby poked at the two newest additions to Beacon.

"Yeah, this was the last stop, mind if we stay for a while?" Black plopped onto a chair.

"Go right on ahead, you can watch me kick all their buts!" Yang told him.

Gohan, Neo, and Trunks took their seats.

"Hey you aren't beating me!" Ruby told her sister.

"Not yet." She replied slyly.

Black chuckled.

"So, how do you guys like Beacon so far?" Blake asked the tow half saiyans.

"This place is pretty amazing, we didn't have anything like this back home." Gohan told her.

"Yeah, I'll have to say the same." Trunks told her.

"It is quite spectacular." Black agreed with them.

A few more moves were made before team JNPR came into the room as Weiss flipped the table they were playing on "I HATE THIS GAME!"

Jaune got hit by the table and was pinned down.

"Why me?" Jaune struggled out through the weight of the table.

While his team and most of team RWBY tried to help him up, Black just started to laugh from the scene.

Soon it spread and everyone else joined in.

Little did they know that this was the last time they would have a peaceful moment together for a long, long time.
