Chapter 16: Neapolitan

Black appeared on a highway over looking a open area, and bolting straight for it was Blake and Sun running from a giant machine.

Black quickly jumped off the side and landes with a massive impact in the concrete as the two faunus ran past him.

The machine came barreling at him but he just ran at it and when the two collided Black started to push it back causing it to dig in the ground.

Black took a good look into the cockpit and saw the red head they fought back at the docks.

"Good to see you again ginger." Black mocked the criminal before pushing the entire machine backwards and on its back.

Black jumped back when he heard it started to click.

He landed near Blake and Sun. "You guys all right?" He asked them quickly.

They both panted slightly "Just a little out of breath." Blake told him

Suddenly missiles sprung from the machine and headed straight for them.

Blake and Sun jumped off to avoid them but the were focused on Black.

He shot straight up and the missiles followed. He twisted and turned letting the missiles dance around him.

He shot off towards the highway were he flew right over Yang and Neptune.

He flew in a circle before placing his feet onto one passing by and using it like a skate board.

Black then flipped himself and the Missile around and headed in the direction of the other missiles.

He flipped off of it and let it crash into the others. Five missiles survived and came towards him.

Black flew down and hit the ground flipping over and jumping backwards narrowly avoiding one of the missiles. The last four turned and headed for him.

He backed himself into one of the concrete pillars holding up the highway. He jumped to the side just in time to see it explode and get heavily damaged but it still stood.

The other three pulled his attention as he flew back into the air and at the red head piloting the machine who was trying to hit Blake and Sun.

The red head saw him and tried to swing at him but Black landed and slid under him letting the missiles hit him. Black did a few back hand flips before he jumped high into the air and did several back flips and landed by Sun and Blake.

Yang jumped down from the highway and joined them.

"So big bad?" Yang asked.

"I thought the missiles were a big clue." Sun told her.

The machine emerged from the snake with little more than a scratch.

"Heads up, he's ready for more."

Black told them.

The machine ran at them again.

Black and Yang took of at him while Blake and Sun ran around it shooting at him.

Yang jumped up and onto Blacks arm to which he threw her at the machine causing it to stumble. She flipped back into the air and Black came up and hit it with a drop kick so hard it sent it through another concrete pillar.

Yang landed behind Black "Couldn't you take this thing out no problem?" She asked him while reloading her arm gauntlets.

"Yes, but I might accidentally kill the man inside and we need answers not a dead criminal." Black told her.

She nodded and got ready to start attacking again as the machine got up.

But before it could run a bullet cracked the cockpit window.

Ruby was standing on the top of a building aiming with her sniper rifle.

Weiss came up beside her and the two jumped off the side of the building.

They landed next to them.

"Sun you and Neptune get people of the highway, if more of those pillars break it could collapse, the rest of us we stop this thing." Ruby told him.

The monkey faunus nodded and jumped to one of the columns and climbed to the top.

Black stood in front of the girls and let off a little of his aura signalling his power up.

The machine started to scan them with lasers and then the arms changed to guns and started to shooting.

The five of them scattered and avoided the bullets.

Black drew most of the fire and tried to avoid the highway pillars.

He jumped from side to side dodging bullets before one nearly hit his cheek and he jumped back and hit a pillar.

He looked at it and then back at the machine.

The bullets started coming and he just started catching them and dropping them or just out right deflected them away.

Weiss and Blake come up beside him and charged the machine, they sliced at its legs and then Weiss jumped up and stabbed one of the guns breaking it.

The red head growled in anger and fired more missiles which the girls jumped back to avoid.

One blasted Weiss up and then he shot her with a bullet sending her back but she sent a time glyph at Blake and Black before she hit the ground.

The two glowed dark gold.

The machine fired more missiles but Blake just started slicing them to pieces.

Her last slice cut straight through the machines arm slicing it clean off.

Black shot forward and hit the machine in the cockpit breaking it some more. He vanished and reappeared kicking the middle sending it plowing through the ground again.

Yang landed on top of the cockpit and started hitting it again.

The machine knocked her off and then hit her through one of the pillars.

"NO!" Black said as the highway shook a but still stood.

He let out a sigh but then he turned to the machine and fired a ki blast at it but it stepped back barely missing it but it did let Yang get back up and over to the group.

"We need to slow it down!" Ru y yelled out and then said something Weiss but Black was already in the air.

He flew down and shot off around it hitting it forward into a flurry of frozen bullets that Weiss was making with Ruby's sniper fire.

Blake through Yang her blade and swung her around with the long cloth attachment.

She flung her into the machine shattering it entirely and causing the red head to fall onto the ground near the broken pillar.

Black landed and the rest of the group ran up beside him.

"Just got this washed to." The red head said dusting him self off.

Black got annoyed and sent a ki blast to knock him out but then a girl with an umbrella jumped down and negated it.

His eyes widen in shock that someone could do that.

"Well girls, Ice queen, spiky, I'll see you later." He got ready to make some kind of escape when the highway above them gave out.

He looked up and jumped off to the side but his a complice didn't and was stuck in the way.

"GET DOWN!" Black didn't even think, he was up and over to the girl in an instant. He grabbed her and pulled her into him while he crouched over her while the debris fell on him.

"BLACK!" Team RWBY yelled.

The red head didn't even stick around and ran off into the shadows.

The girls ran over to the debris and tried to pull it off.

"Please be OK!" Ruby yelled out to the inside of the rubble.

Inside the rubble Black had one hand over the girl and the other holding the combined weight of the debris on his back from falling on them.

He pushed up to give the girl room and some of the rubble shifted.

"You, girl, are you OK?" He asked her concerned.

She was in shock and shakily nodded.

Black sighed before chuckling "What a fine mess this is." He laughed out.

He closed his eyes and focused on his hearing.

Through the concrete he heard the girls screaming for him.

"Girls! I'm OK! So is the girl!" He tried to yell out to them but they didn't hear him.

'Jeez they make this stuff thick!' Black thought to himself.

"Alright, you what's your name?" Black asked the girl but she looked at him still shaky.

"What's wrong, concrete got your tounge?" Black asked her trying to calm her.

She finally shook her head and pointed to her through before shaking her head again.

"Oh, you can't talk?"

She nodded.

"Is it something that happen just now?"

She shook her head.

"Were your born like that?"

She nodded slowly coming down from her fear.

A sense of sadness dredged over him as he began to sense her aura. He didn't think he'd find someone purer than Ruby. "I'm sorry for that, no one should have to suffer like that. Especial someone as pure feeling as yourself."

He face contorted into one of shock and confusion.

"My name is Black. I'd say its a pleasure but..." He looked up at the rubble.

The girl let out a squeak which Black assumed was her laughter and let out a small chuckle with her.

"You seem like a nice one. Why are you helping out the red head?" Black asked her.

She frowned and tried to cross her arms but there was no room.

"Oh, right my apologies. Maybe you can type to me on a scroll in a minute. Alright I hope they can hear this, you need to get as close to me as you can ok?" He told her.

She nodded and scrunched up under him trying to make sure she did as he said.

"OK......" Black concentrated and started to try to telepathically speak to the girls.

"Ruby can you hear me? Ruby?" He spoke aloud and in his head.

Ruby suddenly perked up when she heard his voice.

"Black! Your OK!" Ruby jumped up confusing her teammates as they looked around to find him.

"Yeah I'm fine, the girl is to."

"Where are you?" Ruby looked around trying to find him.

"A lil sis who are you talking to?" Yang asked her.

"Ruby I'm still under the debris, I'm speaking through telepathy."

Ruby's jaw dropped "You can talk to my head?"

The entirety of team RWBY was suddenly concerned for their leader.

"Yes I can, listen I need all of you to back up a lot OK, I'm going to get this stuff off but I don't want it hurt you guys or the girl."

Ruby nodded her head "Alright you got it. Every one back up Blacks gonna get that stuff off of them!"

All of team RWBY jumped back a good ways.

Black let out a sigh and began to focus.

The girl with partially pink hair watched in shock and wonder as he started to glow black and purple. His aura began to flow around them and the rubble started to shake.

"Close your eyes little one." Black told her and she immediately did as she was told.

He let out a yell and his aura shot up and pushed the rubble off in a giant column of light and power.

Black scooped the girl up into his arms and stood up with his aura flaring around them.

Black shot up and landed in front of team RWBY.

The girl looked at him with amazement and wonder while his aura was flaming around them.

He let out a sigh and it dispersed with a slight breeze of air.

"You alright there?" He asked the girl.

She slowly nodded.

"Can you stand?"

She nodded again never looking away from him.

He stood her up and looked back to the pile of rubble.

He frowned before walking over to it.

Team RWBY looked at the girl who just stared at her saviour with starry eyes.

Black reached down and picked up a huge slab of concrete and chunked it off to the the side before reaching down and picking her the girls umbrella and dusting it off.

He walked back and handed it to her with a smile.

She took it with this grin of little girl at Christmas.

Black looked at the girls who were obviously weary of her.

"You four relax, she's coming with us." He told them.

The girl frowned before looking behind him and snatching the scroll that stool partially out of his red sash.

"Oh, got something to say?"

The girl typed something out before showing him the scroll which said 'Your going to lock me up?'

Black looked up at her and she was frowning like a little girl.

Black shook his head "I give you my word, your with me when we get there."

She smiled again and then types some more.

This time it read 'I'm Neapolitan, but call me Neo, thank you for saving me. No ones ever risked their lives for me like that.'

Black chuckled before bowing "It was my pleasure, Neo."

She squeaked quietly again.

Black stood back up with a smile on his face.

"Alright let's head back to Beacon."

Black picked up Neo again and started to float.

"Right, we have to have a talk about this when we get back." Weiss told him and the rest nodded.

Yang used her gauntlets to jumped up onto the highway and she got on her bike.

Team RWBY followed her.

Weiss called a bullhead and the four boarded it with Yang's bike.

Black floated next to the Bullhead with Neo and they flew off towards Beacon.

Black did worry a little though.

'What the hell am I going to tell Ozpin and Ironwood about this.....oh man what am I going to tell Vegeta?!'

I told ya they were comin fast.

Neo is now gonna be a good guy, and no she is not a love interest, she's like 15 and he's like mid thirties or early 40s in this series.

She's going to be more like someone that Black sees as part of his redemption and like a daughter.
