(ch19) paranoia

Sortta just a filler chapter so a little short

It had been a few weeks since Alen had come to attack you. You weren't sure what to do about it but Silas seemed so set on staying awake every night just to watch over you like a dragon protecting it's gold

You were worried about him with his large bags that formed beneath his eyes, his normally formal and we'll groomed hair was stuck out in placed and he looked scared to close his eyes at any moment.

"Silas" you began slowly as he was looking out one of the windows as if his brother would crawl through at a moments notice

"Hm?" He said barely paying any mind to your words

"You need to sleep"

But once again he just ignored your words and made sure the door was locked a third time

You hadn't seen him go to work either and he followed you into every room giving you no time to think for yourself and procces the events that happened

You debated escape again but you knew he wouldn't allow that, he was on guard, he was like a hound dog from the pits of hell sent to sniff out anything amis and it was hard to NOT follow along with him

Because as far as you knew not only was he protecting you from his also psycho brother that was out for your flesh and bone, you still loved him like any normal couple.

"Silas" you repeated again this time putting a hand on his shoulder and he finally looked at you

"You need sleep. You can't even protect yourself if you don't rest enough" you said

His gaze went from cold hard stone to a light relaxed frown before he let out a sigh

"Come on, I'll let you rest on me so you don't have to worry about me going anywhere okay" you said and he thought about it for a moment before wordlessly nodding.

You lead him to the couch and allowed him to rest his head in your lap while you pet through his hair making him doze slightly

"Wake... Me up... If something... Happens"he said and was out like a light at that very moment

You gave a relived sigh when you heard his soft snores and let your head fall back on the plush couch

For some reason it felt like you were a mother taking care of a child and finally relieved when you got a moment of peace

The silence allowed you to sort in your head so you slowly let yourself get lost in thought

Maybe this isn't as worth it as you thought

But it also is because he has been your only true friend in awhile

Besides how many people do you know would be willing to kill for the ones they love

Sure people say they would but actually doing it is another thing

Of course it's unorthodox and highly unnecessary a major red flag among flags if you would say so your self

But he was so... Normal at times

Times like now where he was sleeping to your hand peacefully running through his hair

Times like when you went on dates or watched your movies, even when you just sat in silence and enjoyed each others company it was nice

Maybe if you could learn to live with it you can reel it in and keep him in check... Maybe keep him to only killing his contract targets

Just as you were prepared to fall asleep with that last thought you heard a light scratch across the window

You had been so focused on Silas following you, you didn't realize how paranoid you really were

So the moment you heard it your head snapped to the window like a lion-ess ready to protect it's den

You watched waiting for any sighn of trouble and you didn't take your eyes off the window for a moment, you could have swore your pupils had dilated in awareness like the cat-like person (purrson, I'm sorry I'll stop) that you were

After a good few heart beats there was no sound to alarm you so you relaxed and continued to pet through Silas's hair as if it was a normal day

You rested your head back ready to sleep and closed your eyes gently.

Knock knock knock

Your head jolted up and your body froze the moment you gaze locked on the door.

You stayed silent in hopes that the person would go away and just leave you be but another knock came making your heart beat rapidly

You still kept quiet and didn't move a muscle to afraid to do a single thing, you didn't know if this would make you as good as a deer in the headlights or if you'd be able to wake Silas up and run in time for both of you to make it

"Hello... Is anyone home..." A light voice said

Their voice was light and clearly not meaning harm but that didn't make you relax

You waited

And waited

And waited some more and after one more knock they spoke again

"We'd like to take a moment to talk about our lord and savior Jesus Christ"

Your shoulders slumped over finally relaxing and with a quiet laugh you put a hand on your head never feeling more foolish

After a minute or two they finally left and you were left to yourself and a sleeping Silas making you feel a little more comforted to listen to his soft snores

But you didn't want to sleep now

You wanted to stay awake and keep watch for him

He deserved that... And a fistful for what he attempted with the chains that day... But he's been making up for it.

And for now that will have to excuse his behavior because you just weren't sure what to do, he was possessive and you had no doubt that he wouldn't let you leave

And while you knew you had to leave... You didn't want to.

So after slightly letting your thoughts settle you rested your head back and paid close attention to your surroundings

After a few hours- possibly six- Silas had woken up and you greeted him with a smile to show him it was alright as he slept.

...

"Hey Silas... What will we do to stop your brother?" You asked and he sighed from his place in your lap

"I'm not sure... But whatever happens I won't let you get hurt, your mine after all... I have to take care of what I love" he said and snuggled further into you lap like a rabbit trying to squeeze into it's burrow.

You pet his hair and nodded with a silence that hung over you two and you leaned down to put your forehead on his making the rest of his face un-seeable but you could feel how red his face was from the radiating heat

(Small make out, srry, I'll tell you when it's over if you don't wanna read it)

He slowly moved his head up and lightly grazed your lips as if asking for permission and you lightly kissed him back

With permission he deepened the kiss slightly and you both separated

You kissed twice before he deepened it more and you allowed it to continue as he started to lean upwards from your lap making you lift up with him

Soon he had you pushed against the back of the couch while one of his knees was between your knees and the other leg pushed firmly against the ground while he trapped you on both sides of his arms.

You pushed your lips further against his and slowly wrapped one arm around his neck

It nearly made you forget everything as you tangled your your fingers through his soft hair

(It's over)

Just as you both pulled away a strangely calm knock had been heard making your tsk in anger.

"NO I don't want to hear about our lord and savior Jesus Christ I'm trying to do some sin right now!" You said to the person in frustration making Silas snort and you smiled at his light hearted laugh

"This isn't church or religion, this is the Elsberry Police, Silas Serpent open up, we have a warrant to search the premises in suspicion of your involvement to a mass homicide"

Oops it seems Silas has gotten into a little bit of trouble.
