v. sorry not sorry

Julia's night was filled with nightmares. They weren't out of the ordinary for her.. The vetera messed with her head to a point that they happened on a regular basis. Usually it was about the kidnapping or her parents abandoning her. But this was different. It was about Mia- more accurately about a chase the two were having. As soon as she was knocked out in the dream, she woke up, noticing a figure towering over her. She swung her fist at them, but the figure immediately blocked it and put her in an armlock.

"Screw you!" Julia spat.

"First of all, I'm sure you'd love to, but I'll pass. Second of all you were having a nightmare and started shaking, so I woke you up." It took Julia's mind a second to recognize the voice. It was Mia. Mia loosened the grip on Julia's arm and helped her stand up.

"Where is everyone?" Julia questioned the vigilante, noticing the unusual quiet that consumed the bunker.

"Everyone else is asleep. It's 3 AM."

"So, what are you doing up?"

"Couldn't sleep. Want to spar?" Julia nodded, signaling for Mia to throw her a bo staff.

The two spared for a while before they decided to stop for water.

"You're pretty good." Mia begrudgingly complimented the criminal.

"Thanks." She replied before taking a sip of water. As she drank, she also noticed something behind Mia. A vial labeled ketamine. Ketamine, as Julia immediately realized, could knock Mia out for a while. That was her escape plan, but first, she had to get to it. "So, are we going to talk about what happened the other day? When we-"

"Kissed." Mia finished. Julia moved closer to her, slowly starting to slide her hand to the drug. Their faces were mere inches apart. Julia could feel Mia's icy cold breath on her own. "I have nothing to say about that." Mia whispered. Her eyes darted between Julia's eyes and lips.

"Well, about that, you don't get the chance to." Julia finally reached the drug and drove it into Mia's leg. Mia looked back at the criminal with pain in her eyes. It was unclear if it was because she cared, or because it hurt. "Sorry." Julia added before Mia's body collapsed to the ground.
