Sacrifice Part 2

Hawks x Fem Reader Part 21,986 words~10 min read

After my trip I went home. The only proof of what really happened being the golden thread. I tried to explain it to the villagers but no one believed me or seemed to care. Those who believed offered no help. Except for the elder priestess who simply nodded but offered no wisdom after checking it out.

I was left to nearly forget it. Though it seems that wasn't in the cards for me as I started to be plagued by nightmares. Blood and carnage. I'm on a battlefield of death. It all seemed so far yet so familiar. I walked an ancient city with no name as it was consumed by flames.

Finally I decided to pull the trigger and do some research. This God of the temple wasn't well known but known enough.

Though at the library I only got 1 book with any information on him. I opened the book only to feel a sudden chill.

"Curiosity killed the cat" a voice crooned

I about jump out of my skin looking up to see the God before me. He wore his many adornments of jewelry and practically sparkled in the light. He sat on the table casually enough.

"Get off the table. You also shouldn't be in here" I huff

"Ooh. Forbidden secrets?" He chuckled, "I believe this is public access"

"What if someone sees you?"

"No one will notice us. I am rarely seen if I don't wish it"

"Great, then stop making me look like a lunatic who talks to herself" I grumble looking back to the book

He hummed disapprovingly, "if you want to know more than you can just ask me directly"

"Obviously you don't want me to read this cause it says something you don't want me to know" I mumble into my hand

His frown deepened. I continued my research though until he layed directly in my way, setting his head directly on the books pages, "I could use a nap"

I glare finding his body blocks my ability to turn the page. I also was unable to get the book out from under him, "You ass"

He gave a lazy grin. He was like this annoying ghost only I could see. At work he looked around and bugged me, if I was out with friends he would try to join conversation wanting me to ask his questions, and even at home he would show up.

"Humans are so much more complicated" he mumbled changing the TV channel

"We just realized we don't need gods" I scoff snatching the remote from him

"I see now why you are so different from before. It's all so different here" he stood from the couch looking at the bookshelf, "You know... some things still don't change though"

"If I have to hear one more thing about your dead wife I swear" I sigh feeling exasperated

"Fine, I'll admit. You aren't her. But you are like her" he finally relented

I raise a brow perplexed by his sudden change

"You have lived a very different life in a very different world"

"Exactly" I agree

"Which means I must know the new you" he nodded to himself, "I should court you with your rules"

"Or just leave me alone, go be with another god who won't die in a few decades" I scoff

He smiled widely, "You think you would remain moral by my side? You would become a god in a matter of month...given we do all we need to"

"And watch all I know die? No thanks" I scoff

He looked confused but nodded knowingly, "I guess you are right. But know that I am immortal. I have seen you die before and don't particularly wish to see it again. Though if I must...I'll find you again... maybe then things can be different"

He disappeared in a whirlwind of feathers yet not a paper was disturbed. It sounded like a final goodbye. Yet when I looked the chain still remained.

I went on with life though. Before I knew it a year had passed. A few things changed. One thing remained.

That damn chain wouldn't budge. I went to a few shops. Intense heat did nothing. It couldn't be melted or broken.

I just tried to forget it at best. I found myself needing to accommodate it at the worst of times.

At my friends wedding she wanted everyone to wear silver and it was a bit of a fight when I told her I physically was unable to remove it for her beach wedding.

My studies over I worked and went out with friends. Tonight was different though. The girls said I needed to go out. Claiming to be my wing women.

I laughed it off at best but agreed to drinks. Though it still felt...odd. I haven't really dated. I did try once but I have this fear. I know a god is or was watching me. Would he be wrathful if I had a lover?

Who am I kidding. I am simply making excuses.

We waited in line outside the club as my friends gabbed.

"So what type we looking for?" One asked

"Ooh, let's go for one of those hunky types"

I roll my eyes, "I don't want a douche bag"

"Tell us what your looking for girl! How are we to know if you don't say" the second raised a brow

"I don't know. I think we should just dance and have a couple drinks" I shrug

"Come on" they whined

The roar of an engine interrupted us and drew my attention. Some asshole on a motorcycle. I stare for a long moment as he passes by and rides straight to the front of the line.

"The hell is this guy doing?" I mutter

He seems to be talking to the bouncer. Dude looks like an idiot as he moves so animated. I scrunch my nose and squint trying to understand what is happening. I swear if I've been in this line for 20 minutes and this club closes or some shit I'm gonna be pissed.

The bouncer and biker high five and he just walks into the bar...no wait for him? He just waltzed right in.

"Who was that?" One of the gals whispered

"Eye candy is my guess. Why are bikers always so hot?" The other responded

"He probably knows the guy. They aren't just gonna let any random with a bike in" I roll my eyes, "Plus he obviously just left his bike outside next to the line. Who the fuck does that?"

"Pretty bike" they shrug

After another 10 minutes we finally make it in. I had about forgotten about biker guy until I saw him sitting at the bar...with a drink...still wearing his helmet?

Is this guy just dumb or does he think he looks cool?

I walk up to the bar in the free spot beside him trying to wave down the bartender so he can note I should be served when he gets the chance.

I waited but notice hands waving at me and turn my attention to the idiot in the helmet. My face reflecting back in his visor.

He waved excitedly seeming friendly enough.

"How can you see in that thing with it being so dark in here?" I scoff

He shrugged but pointed to his glass.

I look confused but the bartender finally came over to ask my order. I order and start digging out my card when the biker slapped the table infront of me catching my attention.

He started motioning to the bartender that I was not paying and he was. When the bartender confirmed this he nodded.

"What are you playing at?" I raise a brow, "Im not sleeping with you just cause you bought me a drink"

He shook his head and flicked his hand as a don't worry about it.

I don't know what game he's playing at but I don't intend on playing. I get my drink and return to my group.

My friends gushed about the biker but I told them it seems like a bad idea. Through the night I saw him...it feels like he's stalking me.

They assured the club isn't that big and I need to just chill out. I tried to just have a good time. Though I felt something was off suddenly.

My tongue feels dry despite how i just finished my drink. I order a water but after downing half it still feels off. My legs feel unsteady.

I don't believe I drank that much but it has been a while. I look around. A bit thankful that biker is gone but can't seem to find my friends.

My head starts pounding as I make my way outside. I make it to the door only for the biker to be coming in. My head is starting to spin.

I jump as he wraps an arm around my waist snapping his fingers with his other hand.

Is that...blood? Why does he have blood on his gloves? I'm going to die aren't I?

He started walking with me. I don't have the strength to fight though. I can't run. I can barely walk.

I sway but find myself needing his support more and more. We head towards a back room away from the crowd. I squeeze my eyes shut as I hear the door open.

A second later the sounds of the club are gone s the door shuts behind us. I peak an eye open confused.

Is this my bedroom? He helped lay me on the bed. He fished my phone out of my pocket and started doing something on it.

Im...confused.

It all clicked when he took off his helmet. Those golden locks all too recognizable with his honey eyes.

He finished what he was doing and plugged my phone into the charger, "Im going to give you a medication. I need you to take it. It'll pull the drug out of your system"

The room is spinning and my head feels like it's about to split open like an egg. I don't think he could make it much worse.

I drank the odd liquid he gave me. Slowly I felt myself recover. Though be the time the room stopped spinning he had grabbed his helmet and walked back out the door.

I slowly gathered myself and stumble to it only for it to open out to the hallway of my home...and him not here.

I check my phone to see he told my friends I decided to go home and to just have fun without me.

I take off my shoes and sit up on my bed. Staring at that thin little chain. I feel I wasn't wrong. He is watching me...though it may not be the worst thing.

I think if the blood on his gloves. It was smeared across his knuckles. If he could just teleport by walking through a door why even have a bike.

I lay down. My heart felt like it was about to beat out of my chest earlier. I thought...I really thought the worst was going to happen.

I slowly go to sleep. Tired from the night.

Hawks POV

"Peice of shit" I scoff staring at the place he was.

I figured he'd run off with his tail between his legs. I've learned a lot since hanging out in the human world. They never do learn. Humans are wicked and cruel. Everytime I turn around they seem to find a new way if doing so.

Slipping things into drinks seems to be one of their new lows. I can only help I beat some sense into the cockroach.

I sneer though as I see someone if not the bug himself decided to key my bike. I wipe away the scratches and restore the bike before heading out.

I'm just happy I ran into her again...
