CH. 26 Not just a bad boy

(Jamison POV)

I don't know if anyone has ever felt like this before but I don't know how else to explain the feelings I am feeling right now. I am officially on cloud nine and I don't think I ever want to leave.

Rosemary Lavender is my girlfriend. Just that sentence alone has made my mood extremely happy and I just couldn't believe it, but of course, I noticed the nervousness that came with the thoughts also.

The little voice in the back of my head that I was trying to push away and didn't budge was getting to me a little bit, but I refused to let it win.

I finally need to find myself in happiness, I haven't felt happiness ever before so I think it's time for me to actually come to terms that it is something that I want and need to have in my life.

Could it be something that she could offer? Could it be something that we could offer each other? I sure hope so, because I wouldn't mind sharing my new found happiness with someone who I am coming to care for. Not minding it one bit.

"Jamison? You okay?" I looked up to find Mona staring at me with a concerned look on her face, I was sitting in the living room alone after being questioned by the girls. Now the girls were talking to my Dad, which I found myself still getting used to saying. Nonetheless, I quite liked saying it. It was nice to know that the imaginary friend whom I had when I wasn't a kid wasn't made up but a ghost who ended up being my dad. Yes, I officially found myself in a strange world after all.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Just thinking that's all." I said giving her a small smile, she tilted her head to the side as if she wasn't buying it. I finally took the time to analyze Mona and realized that she is definitely a gorgeous woman, it was something that I have noticed before but didn't pay to much attention to, to be honest, my eyes were to busy paying attention to Bambi but Mona is a beautiful woman indeed, by the way, she looked I knew she was always this beautiful. The fact that she looked to be in her 30's just proved, she died around that age.

"Now are you going to tell me what's really bothering you? Or are you going to give me a stupid excuse again?" Mona asked with a serious facial expression.

She came towards me and sat down, looking at me with concern in her eyes that made me realize that this woman cared for me.

"I'm just nervous about not being good enough, that's all. Like there's nothing special about me, there's nothing that I could really give her but only stay by her side. Also, not getting in her way. I just feel like she could do better but I happy she's giving us a chance, I really am." I said, watching Mona as she nodded her head.

"Jamison, you made Rosemary laugh, smile and question many of her feelings recently. Trust me when I say you're special. I have never seen any man make Rosemary laugh or smile. I have never seen her even giving anyone her attention as she has given you, you don't think about it in that way but listen, it's true. I raise Rosie and I can tell you, that you being in her life right now is nice to have. So no more negative thoughts young man. You're extremely special, to all of us especially her. Know that okay?" She told me causing my eyes to widen.

I nodded my head, I decided to just go with the flow.

Mona was definitely a wise woman so I took what she said to heart, she definitely meant it and she was most likely giving me the vibe that she spoke from experience.

"You know, my mother wasn't the best mother in the world." I softly said I didn't know what came over me but I found myself wanting to talk to Mona about my childhood, it was like being comforted by a mother.

"She wasn't a good person." She said looking at me, she wasn't asking. She was stating.

"Yeah, she wasn't. I use to try my hardest to look for the best in her, even with how she was. It's sad that no matter how many times I've tried to look for the best in her, I could never find it. It was like there was no good in her at all, I couldn't understand why I ended up with a horrible woman like that as my mother." I said shaking my head.

It was true, I would find myself asking the universe why I was placed with this woman, why did she have to be my mother. Out of all people, why couldn't I be born to a loving family and felt a family love?

"You know, it's strange how the world works. Sometimes good people have the most challenging life, sometimes innocent souls get thrown in chaos and forced to survive through them. I know your mother wasn't the best and I can't imagine all the pain that you have gone through. I also know that it's not easy to forget the past because you shouldn't. Anyone who tells you that, it's the past so move on is wrong, yes it is the past but that doesn't mean it should be forgotten. You're an adult now and you can decide what to do with your life. There are others out there who are probably going through what you've gone through right now or have gone through something similar. You're able to help these people, you just haven't realized it yet but you will soon." She said smiling at me.

"Sometimes we have to be our own Heros, we also have to be Heros for others especially if they're unable to be their own or have one," Mona said squeezing my hand.

"You're a fantastic young man, I know you don't see that but you're and before you give me that look like you're doubting it. Don't, yes you've made mistakes but no one is perfect. Before you start judging yourself for all the mistakes you've done, just remember that everyone makes mistakes but what you have to do is not let the mistake define you as the person you are." She told me and I had to hold the urge to cry back.

"Mona, thank you s-" I started to say but immediately felt myself being pulled into her arms.

"You can make your own loving family you know." She said rubbing my back.

"But it looks like you've already found one." She said pulling herself back from the hug, giving me a smile and glancing at the girls who were in the kitchen with my dad laughing.

"It'll grow even more, just you wait." She said and I smiled at her.

"You're amazing, you know that?" I asked her and she laughed.

"Thank you, anytime," she said smiling.

"I might start calling you mom if you continue to act this way with me," I said chuckling but Mona's eyes widened.

"That's fine." She said.

"Really?" I said holding my breath.

"Yes. It is." She said standing up and ruffling my hair.

"Always wanted a son." She said softly, there was some meaning behind her words but I decided not to ask.

"Now I have one." She said smiling.

We heard someone walking downstairs and we looked back to see Rosemary making her way downstairs.

"Bonding?" She asked us.

I laughed.

"Yeah," I answered. She nodded her head, looked at Mona who nodded her head.

"Okay, I'll go see what the rest of these people are talking about." She said walking towards the kitchen.

Bambi made her way towards me and sat down.

"How are you?" She asked, staring at her hands.

Was there something wrong?

I didn't know how I knew but I felt like she wanted to tell me something, but what exactly.

"Is there something that's bothering you or something you want to tell me?" I asked her, she looked up and made eye contact with me.

"Yes, shall we go to your room?" She asked me and I nodded my head.

We both stood up, making our way upstairs to my room.

When we got into my room, she closed the door behind her and looked around the room.

"How do you like the room?" She asked me, I raised a brow.

"It's comfortable Bambi, what's wrong? Tell me." I said walking closer to her, she put her hand up straight out in front of her to stop me.

"When you come close to me like that, my mind goes blank in a daze. So, sorry but just stay over there for a little bit so I can say what I have to say. Okay?" She said, causing my eyes to widen.

I begin to start feeling worried.

What did she mean by her saying what she had to say?

"What do you have to tell me?" I asked her curious.

It couldn't be that she thought we shouldn't be dating anymore, right?'

"Well, you know. Please don't be mad right after I tell you." She said.

"It depends on what it is, but I don't think I could ever stay mad at you," I said, being honest.

She looked at me, probably wondering if she should tell me.

"I've known about you for 4 years." She said softly.

"Huh?" I said, confused.

"I've known about you for 4 years, as in. I was keeping tabs on you for 4 years before I approached you." She said.

I stood there quiet, unable to say anything.

"You were stalking me?" I said and her eyes widened.

"No! I mean, I wouldn't call it stalking." She said testing her words.

"How did you know about me for four years? You need to tell me everything. What do you mean you've known about me for four years?" I asked I wasn't angry. I was just confused, lost and a little creeped out.

She looked at me and walked towards the bed sitting down.

I was standing there, staring at her. Wondering how could she have known about me. We've never crossed path or lived the same lifestyle. Where did she see me?

"One day I was walking in the city because I had to meet with some of the officers there, to discuss what I thought about a case in person because they weren't getting it through the phone. I saw you with a bunch of men who look like they were up to trouble, you were walking with them and they all walked passed this elderly woman who was sitting on the floor with a lost look in her eyes. You stopped in front of her, asking if she was okay. I watched as the elderly woman eyes widened. That you noticed her, I watched as she spoke to you and you smiled telling her something, pointing towards something. I watched as you help her get up and wave her goodbye." Rosemary said causing my eyes to widen because I remember that day.

I was with those fuckers and they were deciding on a job, who to rob. When I saw an old woman sitting on the floor with a lost look in her eyes, everyone was ignoring her and I felt drawn to help that woman.

I knew how it felt to have people ignore you.

"What you didn't notice is that when you walked away, the woman turned around and smiled at you. She walked towards the direction you told her and disappeared. She wasn't alive Jamison, that woman was a ghost who was sitting there, lost and looking for her way back to what she knows. You helped her, you helped a ghost cross over and you didn't even realize it." Rosemary said making my eyes widen.

I was stunned.

"What.... Are you serious? But, how? She was just an old lady who was lost and didn't know where to go." I said the realization hit me as no one noticed her but me. When I caught up to the others they asked me what took me so long and I gave them shit for ignoring an old lady who seemed confused, while they walked right passed her. They all gave me confuse looks telling me they had no idea what I was talking about and I had ignored them.

Putting in my mind that this is why I didn't even like them anyway because they were jackasses.

"You didn't realize that you help a woman cross over. I was stunned, I stood there watching you. I've never met anyone who was like that before, I've met my sister but she hasn't even been fully able to see the dead. She will soon though when she gets here, but you. You were able to, you spoke to her and made her feel at ease. You helped her, without even realizing it. I had to find out who you were. I needed to because I never met anyone like that. So I followed you, but when I realize what you and your buddies were doing I was confused." She said shaking her head, my eyes widen and my breath held.

"I watched as you all talked about robbing a house, I thought. There's no way he's apart of them right? I've just seen what he did for that old woman. He isn't part of this group, it's impossible." She said shrugging her shoulders.

"It wasn't," I said in a low tone.

"I kept tabs on you, I found out your name and who you were. I was interested in knowing everything about you. Who exactly were you, where did you grow up, what did you like, dislike and why you were hanging with those people. I did it for four years, hating that you kept allowing yourself be part of such a crowd. I made a promise to myself that if you ever got in such trouble that I would be there, to bail you out and hope that you would change your way. So I waited." She said looking at me.

"You waited till I got in trouble? Why didn't you just come up to me?" I asked her, she narrowed her eyes at me.

"Oh and say what? Hi, I'm Rosemary and I see dead people guess what you do too! You just don't know it yet, any way you need to come with me because you have abilities that you don't know about yet. Yeah, that would have had you believe me in no time." She said.

"I didn't mean it like that, I mean you could have spoken to me or at least approached me one day," I said and watched as she rolled her eyes.

"Not with the people you hung out with, I wanted to observe you, to see if I could be around you." She said softly.

"I had debated whether I should even be bothered with you. I would question myself why I was so invested in you. Mona didn't even know." She said causing my eyes to widen.

I watched as she rubbed her arm.

"It just felt like even though you hung out with that crowd, that you were actually alone. That you were a loner." She said avoiding me and looking at the wall.

"I overheard them one day talking about setting you up, you know where you all would usually meet. I know it was dangerous to go there but I would go there also. Making sure I was hidden, you weren't there yet and they felt like you had something going on that you wouldn't tell them about so they wanted to cut ties with you, backstab you and see what it was that you were hiding. It took me off guard because these were people that were supposed to be your friends, but here they were planning your downfall." She said shaking her head.

"I wanted to tell you, but you had no idea who I was. What was I supposed to say? I've been following you and keeping tabs on you for four years. The people who you've been robbing with, associated with are planning to set you up. So I just waited for it to happen, making sure that their plan didn't work out and bailed you out." She said staring at me with a serious look on your face.

"I don't regret the plan they had against you, because if they didn't make that plan of setting you up. Then you still would have been with them doing who knows what. You weren't supposed to be with them in the first place. It made me angry watching someone with your abilities, someone who was that smart hanging out with people like that. I would actually get amazed at the plans you came up with while being in that group. Yes it wasn't for anything good but they were impressive plans, you were wasting your talent with them. With idiots who didn't even deserve to know you." She said causing my eyes to widen.

"Yeah, when I got arrested you thought, finally you're able to have me. You hired me to be your pretend assistant to just get close to me?" I asked her, watched her flint.

"You're not a pretend assistant or experiment. You're my assistant and experiment, nothing is pretending about that. I'm sorry if you felt like I did something wrong but I have no form of social skills at all what so ever. I've thought about other ways but I couldn't think of any. I'm sorry if you're mad." She said and I shook my head.

"Now you're my boyfriend also. Sorry if you're mad." She said softly.

"I'm not mad," I said watching as her eyes widened, she let out a breath.

Was she scared about me being mad?

"I found it cute, how you acted like you were not interested in me at all only to come to find out that you've been stalking me for four years and was waiting for me to get in trouble so you could be my Hero," I said softly recalling the conversation I had with Mona earlier.

I watched as her eyes widened even more shock at what I said.

"It wasn't stalking I was just keeping tabs on you and making sure everything was fine." She said crossing her arms.

"Yeah, rescuing me when I needed to be rescued," I said walking towards her, I reached her and stared down at her.

"You're so beautiful, you know that," I said rubbing her cheek.

"It's cute how you wanted me to yourself. Well, you have me now." I said teasing her, only joking but the look in her eyes had me taken back.

She looked relieved.

Relieved that I was here with her, relieved that she was finally able to talk to me and be around me, instead of just watching me from afar.

"I'm going to kiss you," I said, letting her know. She didn't say anything but looked at me and I took that as an okay. I lowered my head, pressing my lips against hers and groaned on how soft they were.

I used both my hands to hold her face against mine and I felt her soft hands touch my hands.

I smiled against her lips.

Baby steps.

I pulled back slowly and smiled at her.

I watched as her eyes were in a daze.

"Did you like that?" I asked her with a small smirk on my face, but I sure wasn't ready for the nod that came from her or the way she pulled my head back down to kiss me again.

My heart burst when I felt her lips against mine, she just kissed me. She kissed me first and I let her lead the kiss, I smiled on the inside and chuckled to myself on how innocent she was in the kissing department but I like it this way.

I kissed her back and found myself taking her hair out of the bun, letting it fall down.

I gave her a peck and pulled back to look down at her, my breath hitch in my throat on how beautiful she looks just sitting there on my bed.

Fuck. The way her hair fell down, the way her eyes were in a daze and the way she was glowing was the sexiest thing I've ever seen

"Bambi," I said groaning as I touched her hair.

It was so long and such a beautiful deep shade of black.

I found myself running my fingers through her hair and when she closed her eyes letting out the softest moan I've ever heard. I had to hold myself back from pouncing on her. Does she not know how sexy her noises are.

"Aw, my cute little Bambi. You like having my fingers run through your hair, don't you? It's nice right?" I asked her teasing her, she opened her eyes and my heart stopped.

It was quick, extremely quick but I saw it.

She smiled.

It was a quick smile and if I had blinked that moment I would have missed it.

Rosemary just smiled.

She didn't say anything and I didn't say anything. We both knew I caught that.

"You're slowly letting me in," I whispered softly to her, making it known that I was pleased with the smile. I was pleased to see a side of Rosemary that I don't think anyone has seen, not even Rosemary herself.

She sat there silent for a couple of minutes. Staring at me, I knew she was deep in her thoughts as she stared at me with a look I couldn't explain or the meaning behind it.

"Once you're in, you can't leave." She said in a serious tone.

I smiled.

"I wouldn't want to ever leave or plan to," I said kissing her forehead.

"Not when I finally found my Hero, my Bambi."
