Talk about a small world!
Dorothy had imagined she might run into someone from the Sanchez family before she came, but she
didnât expect to seem right off the bat.
No wonder that woman started stiming the pot again. So they were back from abroad.
This couldnât be good.
âDo you think Edward wants to cut and run from the Social Networking Service because thereâs
something fishy with the company?â Kevinâs voice brought her back from her thoughts.
Dorothy nodded making sure to sit with her back to Maxton, Otherwise, even without the backing of the
Lopez Corporation for going public, the revenue of the Social Networking Service isnt shabby, unless
he has a better ca lined up. Leaving money on the table and pulling out his shares is a big decisionâ
Anyone who invested in a company from the get go definitely had high hopes for it.
Either they were really good friends, or they were family. Given this, as an original shareholder, he
would have to think long and hand before making a move.
Also, share changes take time from declaration to realization, which meant Edward was dead set on
leaving.
âCould you lock up Edwardâs shareholdings in other companies?â
Dorothy smiled. She quickly flipped through her phone and handed it to Kevin. âHereâs the latest
âDornity. Iâm starting to see you in a new light.â Kevin was a workaholic. The pizza just awed, and he
started reading the information without ever bothering to eat
His compliment for her didnât matter, but it did catch the attention of Marton behind her.
âDorothy?â
âIt really is you!â
Maxton walked over. He was about to say something when she stood up first
âKevin, I have something to deal with. Ill be back in ten minutes.â
Kevin waved his hand âSure, go ahead.â
Dorothy walked ahead, with Maxton following her cut of the pizza place
He started speaking in an unpleasant tone as soon as they stopped, âWhat brings you back to
Havenbrook?â
âWorkâ
If it werent for work, she wouldnât step foot in this place again,
âYou need to work? Didnât you latch onto some rich guy?â
Maxton didnât mince his words. He was okay with embarrassing his own daughter in public, not even
bothering to lower his voice
âIs that any of your business? Dorothy was getting impatient. âWe havenât asked for your money or
ridden on your coattails. Youâd better stay out of my businessâ
âWho do you think youâre talking to? Dorothy, Iâm your father! Donât put on airs with me: youâre just like
your mother!â
His voice raised unconsciously when she gave him the cold shoulder.
Onginally, Dorothy just wanted to deal with him quickly and return, but she couldnât stand it when he
spoke about her mother like that.
âHuh, such words coming from a man who abandoned his family and had on affair, thatâs a laugh!â
âYouâ
âSave it, and tell that woman to save it too! Weâve backed down this far, not because weâre weak, but
because we donât want to fight over trash! If you keep pushing us. I wonât hesitate to spill the beans to
the media! The Sanchez family has a reputation in Hawenbrook, so you can think about the
consequences.â
Dorothy left him with that and walked back into the shop.
Behind her, Maxion was fuming. You dare to threaten me? Finel Donât blame me for not holding back!
You better prepare to collect your motherâs body!â
