âYeah, yeah, I promise I wont let her move an inch Kenneth assured with vigorous nods. âSo, when will
she woke up?â
Itâs hard to say. She wasnât in the best shape to begin with and with all this drama. Just keep a close
eye on her.â
With those parting words. the doctor left
Kenneth returned to the hospital room to find Dorothy her face void of any color, which made him feel a
mixture of anger and sorrow. But then, reflecting on himself, wasnât he also cast from the same meld1
His friends had told him time and again to move on and stop wasting his time, and even Dorothy had
urged him to find a girlfriend
But itâs not so easy to just take his affection for Dorothy back once itâs given away.
As the evening acroached, Karen finally managed to slp away from home, leaving the kids with her
parents
âDorothy hasnt woken up yet?â
She approached the bedside. sighing as she looked at the fire lying there Bro, why does she have to

Karen heaved a long sigh. âItâs pretty clear that Dorothy and Everets are done for good this time. So

Iâm not pushing for anything. As long as sheâs okay thatâs al that matters.â
to go running back to Everett.
Kenneth looked up and smiled at Karen. âWhen I saw Darolty all battered and bruised, chasing after
Everett regardless of her life, I wanted to make them a match! How many times in life do we get the
chance to law like that?!
But their class difference is lus overwhelming! After all thats happened. Tve been thinking. We see
Carochy exhausted, worn thin because of Everett, but Everett had done a lot too, maybe as much as
Dorothy is not talk about them anymore. Itâs in fateâs hands nowâ Kenneth didnât want to dwell on it. He
placed Dorothyâs hand back under the covers a raised an eyebrow at Karen What about you? Hew are
you holding up
Karenâs face sported a few scratches, but nothing serious. A bit of antiseptic and a bandage were
enough to heal her cut
Iâm fine! The whole thing wasnât even about me. Itâs just my parents making a mountain out of a
malehdi, insisting I stay home with themâ Karen pulled up a chair and crossed her legs. The only thing
liegret is not giving Heather a piece of my mind when I had the chance. I mean, Iâm usualy sharpâ
tongued but when I really needed it, I was at a loss for words
Kenneth chucked at her comment. If it wasnt for your mouth you probably wouldnât have these
scratches on your face!
âIf it wasnât for my mouth, Iâd probably suffocate Karer rolled her eyes. The wanted to give Heather a
verbal lashing for ages. Look, Dorothyâs maxing! Dorothyâs movingâ
Karens pentence was cut short as they noticed the person on the bed stirring.
Kenneth quickly moved closer. Dorothy?â
Her eyes slowly fluttered open to see Kenneth and Karen ansiously peering down at her.
Dorothy instinct wely tried to sit up but quickly collapsed back onto the bed.
âUgh. âPain contorted every feature of her face.
âDonât move!â Kenneth pressed and alarmed her. âYour leg is seriously injured. Do you really went to
end up crippled?â
Karen echoed andiously, âYeah Dorothy, please dont movelâ
But Dorothy seemed deaf to their pleas, her fest words were, âTake me to Everett.â
Even if it meant ruining her legs for good, she was determined to stand by Everett.
