In his office, Everett had just sat down when Kevin messaged him that everything was arranged.

He opened his laptop and quickly scanned the documents on the screen. His gaze uncontrollably fell

on the report from the branch office about the Everglow City’s Resort project.

Had the project entered its second phase already?

Had Kenneth been visiting her in the hospital?

As he thought about this, a self–mocking smirk appeared on Everett’s thin lips. He felt unbearably

pathetic, more so than he had when he was trying to win Dorothy over.

What was even more humiliating was that he was simultaneously taking out his phone and dialing

Jeffrey’s number.

After a few rings, Jeffery picked up What’s up? Can’t handle the company on your own?

He lit up the screen, revealing an unread message on WhatsApp.

It was a message from Dorothy.

Along with it, a picture of her holding the receipt was attached.
