"Congrats Saida!You are engaged." - by Mukti.The girl who always hated me and almost bullied me.She didn't even write my name and she expects me to call her on my wedding.

I messaged back- "Only Friends are invited.No bullies!And Atleast learn to say my name properly.Lol."

I got a message back,"Don't fly high pesky fly.He will anyway dump you."

I just wrote," Do you remember me asking your opinion?Me neither. Bye bully."

And I never got her message back.

The news had been announced just fifteen minutes ago and people were already messaging me.Even those who despised me for choosing dance as a profession.

Double faced people.

I got a message from unknown: Time to meet u finally ,beautiful.Will meet soon ;)

I frowned.Who was this person?

"Why does your face look like it caught fire and someone poked it with a fork?" Nikhil asked me with a smirk.

I shoved a sandwich in his mouth and said,"Eat this sandwich.You have started getting paranoid.You see grilled chicken everywhere."

He rolled his eyes over my comment.

So you must be wondering what am I doing in a restaurant when I should be going home and handling all situations.

Well,I am here sitting here because Mr.Grumpy Pants I mean Nikhil wanted me to sign a one year contract which had some terms and conditions.

A security guy came pretty quick and handed Nikhil some sealed envelope and muttered some words in his ear.

As soon as the guy left,I looked over Nikhil as he carefully opened the envelope.

No doubt it was a contract.

He read it and then turned to me.

I looked at him expectedly to start telling but I saw he had a nervous reaction.

Surprising.

I raised my eyebrow at him.

He asked me,"Do you want to look over these paper once?"

'Yes.I need to be sure of what is written.'I wanted to say.Instead I blurted out:

"No I trust you enough."I replied without thinking.

He nodded and released a shaky breath.

He started speaking the terms but I zoned out.

I was thinking how my life is turning out to be.It was supposed to be a happy traditional wedding not a contract marriage. It broke my heart.

Everything has changed since this morning.I really think Mrs Malhotra is...

"Saira?Saira!Are you even listening me?"Nikhil asked me irritated.

I was agitated still I just replied,"To the conditions please?",unable to form a proper sentence when I realized what I was doing.

He gave me a odd look before he understood I meant to ask for what are the conditions laid out?

This time I turned up my attention and he started to say,"Well,according to contract,You are not supposed to cheat behind me.Not to divulge any personal information and umm,other things,oh god!I am fed of saying this two page condition again.Just the important part,after divorce you will continue to regain your company and dance academy.Ok?"

I nodded.That was enough for me.

So,he gave me a pen to sign the contract.I signed it wherever my signature was required.

I kept the pen in my bag.

He checked over the papers again and then he released a breath.He got up and hugged me.

I was caught off guard.I didn't know how was I supposed to react?

He whispered,"Thank you so much Saira.You are doing a big favour."

I nodded and he went back to his seat to eat his hot-turned-cold sandwich.

I was left with questions.

Why would Nikhil do a contract marriage with me?He is a businessman.There is supposed to be some advantage.

Or he could be attracted to you and may be willing a chance to just try out in form of marriage? Said my illogical emotional weird side.

I asked him,"Nikhil,what is the catch for you in this marri-I mean this deal?"

He completed his sandwich and said leaning near me,"Can I trust you?"

I gave him a dead panned look and said,"We just signed the contract and it was stated that we will not divulge our secrets and trust...."

He raised his hands in surrender and said,"I just asked you,no need to state the whole contract term.And I thought you had zoned out when I read it.I wonder..."

I said impatiently,"Nikhil,Catch?"

Nikhil replied,"Oh yes!Well you are perfect wife material and as I have a deal that can be cracked only if I am married."

I replied,"So,to complete a deal you do another deal?"

He shrugged and said,"Yes I crack a deal to complete my deal."

I shaked my head as he did to understand what I was saying,so I said,"No I meant you did deal a deal so that you get the deal?"

He shaked his head in annoyance and said,"that's what I am trying to convey that for sometime,we have to do deals to crack a deal."

I replied frustratedly,"Oh god!What I meant to say is you are doing this deal with me so that you can get a business deal."

He nodded and looked confused.

I started laughing.

He said,"What the hell just happened?"

I straightened up and asked now,fully serious.

"Nikhil,how about you tell me the real cause of this deal?"

He gulped and for a minute looked lost.

I was looking at him seriously and he looked anywhere but me.

Finally he sighed when he realised that I knew something.Though I didn't really know anything.But he doesn't know it,right?

"Ok.I am doing this to get back my bestfriend,Naina back.I want her to be my wife.She will get jealous and boom bam and done,she is back with me.She will leave her fiancé Jai and we will have the happy ending."

My faced totally paled and I realised that:

1. Nikhil is evil in a way.

2. I expected him not to chase engaged woman.

3. He did not really like me.

4. Naina is/was her bestfriend.

5.I really still didn't know Nikhil.

6.Why the hell was I expecting something from Nikhil.Its not like he is anyway going to divulge his past.

7.I will have to put up fake smiles and be faking loving his parents ,That is,my new in-laws,who don't like me and vice versa.

'Well that's what you get when you read too much fictional books.'My mind taunted me.

I wonder what is next for me?
