In My Heart1,476 words~8 min read

Khushi's POV

After taking a bath, I went downstairs. Jenny was arranging for dinner.

I also helped her to keep the dishes on the table. "Jenny, you go and call Shourya. I will keep this on the table," I said, taking the vessel that was there in her hand.

She went to call Shourya.

I know he hates my presence, but I didn't want to have food alone, so I sat there waiting for him so that we could have our food together.

I heard the footsteps, so I looked up. He was coming downstairs wearing  black sweatpant and a white t-shirt.

Ok, I agree, he is looking handsome as usual.

'Khushi, stop staring at him!' I scolded myself and immediately looked down. I don't want to embarrass myself.

What he said next crushed my heart. He said that he would vomit upon seeing me. For him, I am trash.

Till today, nobody said those types of words to me.

It's really hurt to hear those words. So, I got up and told Jenny not to take his food into his room.

My appetite died upon hearing those words.

I went directly went to my room and stood  on the balcony. There was a full moon, and the sky was full of twinkling stars.

"Khushi," I turned. Jenny was standing there with a plate of food.

"Here, have your food," Jenny said, forwarding a plate in front of me. "Sir told me to take this to your room."

"No, Jenny, take it back. I am not hungry."

"Khushi, at least have a little."

"No, Jenny, my stomach is filled with his bitter words." She was looking at me sadly. "And tell him not to show his fake concern."

I don't want his fake concern.

"I just hope he will realise his mistakes soon," she said, and left my room.

My phone started ringing, it was  'mom'.

"Hello,"

"Hello, Khushi, how are you, and how is Shourya?" It feels good to hear mom's voice.

"We are fine," I said. "How are you and Di-Divi?" My voice cracked.

"We are fine, Khushi, but what happened to you? Is everything alright?" She asked me in a worried tone. I want to go and sleep on her lap and forget all my problems.

"Nothing, mom. I am missing you both." Tears slide down my cheeks.

"We are also missing you, Khushi. You and Shourya can come to meet us whenever you want." At that moment, I felt like running home.

"I can't come these days, mom. Actually, I am a little busy these days. Whenever I get time, I will come to meet you."

"Ok, bye. Take care. Good night."

"Good night, mom. Take care," I said and cut the call. I miss my mom, my sis... my home.

There is no bed in my room, so I put a mattress on the floor. I am not used to sleeping on the floor. I don't know if I be able to get up tomorrow with the back pain.

'Khushi, you will get used to it'  I said to myself and closed my eyes, but sleep was far from me. After twisting and turning, I got up.

Even sleep is against me.

I opened the balcony door and sat there, watching the beautiful stars.

I and my dad used to do star gazing. I used to lie down beside my dad on the terrace, and he used to tell me his childhood stories. I was his princess. Though we were not rich, but he always fulfilled our every wish. He has never lacked anything for us.

We didn't have to worry about anything, but after his death, everything changed.

I miss you, dad. I wish you were here to talk with me, and listen to my every problem.

I didn't know I was crying until a tear dropped on my hand. I got up and wiped my tears with my both hands and was turning to go inside when I saw Shourya standing on his balcony, looking at me.

Maybe he is thinking about new ways to humiliate me.

I ignored him and went to my room, closed the balcony door, and lay down on the mattress.

I got up when my alarm went off. I went to the bathroom and did my morning routine, put on my red top and black skirt, and went downstairs.

Shourya was having his breakfast. He looked at me, ignored me and started having his breakfast. I didn't want to get humiliated early in the morning, so I also ignored him and entered the kitchen.

"Good morning, Jenny," I greeted her.

"Good morning, Khushi," she greeted me back by giving me a beautiful smile. "Take. I made coffee for you," she said, passing the coffee mug to me.

"Thank you, Jenny." I sat in one chair. "Jenny, have you had your breakfast?" She nodded her head. "Yes, Khushi, I had my breakfast at home."

After serving our dinner, she goes home and comes in the morning for work.

I don't want to go to the dining table to have breakfast because I don't want to hear more humiliations and insults.

I had my coffee. "Jenny, I am going. Bye" I took my empty cup and kept it in the sink.

"Ok, bye. Take care."

I took a cab to go to the office. I don't want to use any of his cars.

I don't want him to name me again as a gold digger.

Shourya's POV

I had been trying to sleep for the past half an hour, but sleep was nowhere near me.

I don't know why, but her teary face was coming in front of my eyes.

I got up from my bed and opened the balcony door. As soon as I opened the door, a cold wind blew, and I shivered a little. Suddenly, my gaze fell on the side of Khushi's room. She was sitting there and staring at the sky. Her tears were shining through the moonlight.

'Why is she crying?'  I asked myself.

'As if you don't know' my mind mocked me.

She got up, wiped her tears with both of her hands, and was going  when her gaze fell on me.

She looked at me with a blank expression and went inside. After that, I also went to sleep.

In the morning, I got up and did my morning routine and went downstairs to have breakfast. When I was having breakfast, I heard the footsteps of someone, so I looked up. Khushi was coming down by wearing a red top and a black skirt, and she was looking beautiful.

She ignored me and went to the kitchen. After sometimes she came out of the kitchen. I don't know whether she had her breakfast or not. When she was going out, I wanted to ask her how she would go to the office but stopped myself. Why should I ask her? Let her go however she wants.

I don't care.

There is only one aim in my life now, and that is 'to make her life a living hell and kick her out of my life and my house.'

I started my car to go to the office.

I parked my car in a private parking lot and went inside. When I was passing Khushi's cabin, I saw her laughing with Zanvil. My blood started boiling. I directly entered her cabin. Looking at me, they got up.

"Don't you have work? I am not paying you to do time pass here," I shouted at them.

"Sorry, si-" Zanvil was saying sorry when I cut his sentence. "Go to your cabin and do your work." I said it in a stern tone. He left from there, and I turned towards Khushi. "I want you in my cabin now!"

She nodded her head.

I entered my cabin and sat.

Someone knocked on my door, maybe Khushi.

"Come in"

She entered my cabin.

"Seems like you enjoy mingling with boys," I said in a cold tone.

"He is my friend, and it's none of your business if I mingle with him or not," she said, glaring at me.

"You are talking with your boss, Miss. Raichandr, so talk properly," I said, gritting my teeth. "I want my today's schedule."

"Today you have a meeting with Obroi's company manager, Arjun Khann'na, at 11:00 am, and at 3:00 pm, you have a meeting with Singhania's members regarding the project. That's it for today," she said.

"Hmm," I nodded my head. "Bring me one cup of coffee," I said and started doing my work.

She muttered something in her mouth. I looked up from my laptop. She immediately left from there.

Silly girl.
