Khushi's POV
The day has come, from today onwards I have to live with Shourya alone in this house. It gives me goosebumps just to think about that. Dad told me not to go to the office today, and I also wanted to spend my time with them.
I woke up early today, completed my morning routine, and went downstairs.
I entered the kitchen. Jenny was already there in the kitchen.
"Good morning, Jenny," I said, giving her a smile.
"Good morning, Khushi," she greeted me back with a warm smile. I don't like them calling me ma'am, so I told them to call me by my name.
"Jenny, today I will prepare breakfast," I told her.
I want to do something special today for mom, dad, and Neha.
"No, Khushi, you don't have to do that. Just tell me, and I will prepare it."
"No, Jenny, I want to prepare breakfast today, but yeah, you can help me prepare it."
"Ok," she said, nodding her head.
We started doing breakfast.
I made aloo parathas and Goan mix bhaji with the help of Jenny.
Aloo parathas
Goan mixed bhaji
"Jenny, please keep this on the table," I said, giving her a hot box that contained parathas, and I took the vessel of mix bhaji with me.
"Good morning, Khushi," mom said, who just now came down.
"Good morning, mom," I greeted her back.
"What's special today? Nice smell is coming."
"Actually, mom, I made aloo parathas and Goan mix bhaji," I said, keeping the vessel on the table.
"Ohh, wow! Actually, aloo parathas are Shourya's and Umesh's favourite," Mom said, excitedly.
Ok, I didn't know about it.
"Good morning, everyone. Something smells tasty," dad came and took a seat besides mom.
"Khushi made aloo parathas and goan mixed bhaji," mom said.
"Wow, Khushi! It smells really good. Ok, I can't wait to eat. At least now I have someone who can cook my favourite food," dad said, rubbing his hands together. Mom glared at dad, which made Neha and me laugh.
"Hmmm.. bhabhi, it's really tasty!" Neha said while eating parathas.
"Yes, Khushi, even my wife never made this type of tasty food," dad said, looking at his wife, who was glaring at him.
"No, dad, mom cooks better than me." I said.
Mom cooks really well.
"By the way, Khushi, from where did you learn this Goan mix bhaji?" Mom asked me.
"It was my dad's favourite, so mom used to cook that for him," I said, softly giving them a small smile.
Yes, it was my dad's favourite dish, and now it's one of mine.
We were all seated together in the hall. Dad was telling us about his childhood. How he and Rahul's dad used to go to eat ice-cream late at night without telling their parents, and how one day their parents caught them while going to have ice-cream, and Rahul's dad put all the blame on his dad and his parents punished him.
Suddenly, my gaze fell at the doorway, and I was shocked to see my devil husband standing there.
Yes, I knew that today he would come, but what can you expect from me when, on the day of the your marriage, your husband left you with his parents and didn't come home for twelve days, and suddenly he appears in front of you? You will be shocked to see him after twelve days... right?
Where was he all these days? If he was at Rahul's place, then Rahul would have told us.
Maybe he was at Samaira's place?
Dad also stopped talking, and we all stood up. Mom ran towards him and started asking him questions, which he ignored and said that he was hungry. He came and sat on the sofa, and now dad has also started questioning him that why he didn't come to the office and also warned him not to do that again.
Mom called him to have something to eat. He went there, and then I saw there were parathas on his plate.
Looking at him, I can say that he liked those parathas. He then started praising mom for those parathas and mixed bhaji.
A little happiness bloomed in my heart, and a small smile came to my face knowing that he liked my food. But that smile vanished from my face when mom told him that the food was prepared by me, and he got up, saying he lost his appetite.
Writer's POV
Khushi's heart was beating faster, thinking that she would be alone with Shourya in that house.
"Mom, dad, are you both sure that I don't have to come to drop you at the airport?" Shourya asked again.
"Yes, Shourya, you don't worry. David will drop us." Umesh said. David is their driver.
Avantika went towards Khushi and removed one golden bangle from her hand and tried to put it in Khushi's hand, but Khushi pulled her hand back.
"Mom, what are you doing? I can't take that."
"Khushi, you are my daughter-in-law and as your mother- in-law, I want to give you this as a gift," she held hand and said.
"Mom, I can't t-"
"Khushi, I am giving you this with love. Please don't refuse to take it," Avantika said softly, looking into Khushi's eyes.
Khushi's heart melted with her words, and she let her put that bangle in her hand.
'This greedy woman wants only that. Now acting like a saint' Shourya who was looking at them, thought in his mind.
Avantika hugged Khushi and said, "Take care of yourself, Khushi."
"I will miss you, mom," Khushi said, hugging her back.
Tears were rolling down her cheeks as Avantika patted her back. Then Avantika went towards Shourya.
"Take care of yourself and Khushi."
Shourya nodded his head.
Avantika held Shourya's hands. "Promise me that you will not leave Khushi alone the way you left her after marriage."
"Mom, please do-" he tried to refuse, but Avantika interrupted, "Promise me, Shourya."
Shourya looked towards Khushi in anger, who was looking at them. As soon as Shourya's gaze fell on Khushi, she averted her gaze.
"Yes, mom, I promise I will not leave her alone," he forced himself to say that.
After biding them goodbye, Shourya went inside, and then slowly Khushi went inside and closed the main door.
Shourya stormed inside his room and slammed the door angrily behind him, but what he saw next made him more furious. The cupboard was also filled with Khushi's clothes. He angrily threw her clothes out of the closet.
"Khushi! Khushi!" He shouted her name.
Khushi, who was sitting in the hall, came running into his room upon hearing him shouting her name.
"Wh-what happened?" Fear was evident in her voice.
"What is this? Why have you kept your clothes in my cupboard?" He shouted at her. Fury was on his face.
"Mom, to-told me-"
"Oh, just, shut up! Remove your clothes from my cupboard within 5 minutes. I don't want to see this dirt in my room," his voice became more harsh. "And I don't want to see your anything in my room, not even you gold digger!" He said, gritting his teeth.
Khushi looked at him with wide eyes. Tears were flowing from her eyes. She was hurt by his words.
Finally, she gathered some courage and asked. "Shourya, I am your wife. How can you talk to me like this"? Tears were bumming down on her cheeks, but she didn't dare to wipe them.
"YOU ARE NOT MY WIFE YOU ARE JUST A GOLD DIGGER MARRIED TO ME JUST FOR MY MONEY. AND DON'T YOU DARE SAY THAT YOU ARE MY WIFE. I JUST HATE YOU, AND I WLL ALWAYS HATE YOU. I WILL NEVER ACCEPT YOU AS MY WIFE. THERE IS AND WILL BE ONLY ONE GIRL IN MY LIFE, AND THAT IS MY GIRLFRIEND SAMAIRA, THE LOVE OF MY LIFE. NOW GET OUT OF MY ROOM, AND SOON I WILL PUT YOU OUT OF MY LIFE!" he shouted at her.
"Shourya, why are you shouting? At least can talk like normal people. We can be friends, right?" She asked him, hopefully though his words tore her heart.
He grabbed her arm tightly and said, "First of all, I don't want to become a friend of a middle-class golddigger like you. I know you are only married to me for my money. I know people like you only run after money and can do anything for money," he said, gritting his teeth. His eyes were all red due to anger.
"Shourya, please leave my hand. You are hurting me."
"It's just the beginning. Just wait and watch. I will make your life living hell that you will beg me to kill you. You will REGRET marrying me." He said, gritting his teeth.
"NOW GET OUT," he grabbed her wrist and pushed her out of his room.
Khushi ran into the guest room, closed the door, and sat on the bed. She couldn't stop crying. She was extremely hurt by his words. She was cursing for that day she said yes to this marriage.
Sometimes words hurt more than physical pain. Words have the more power to break someone's heart and soul.
Someone started knocking on the door. She wiped her tears and opened the door. Jenny was standing there with her suitcases. "Khushi, sir told me to put your clothes in your suitcases and give it to you" she said sadly. Even she didn't like Shourya's behaviour.
Khushi nodded her head. "Please keep it inside."
"Wait, Jenny!" Jenny was about to entered the room with Khushi's suitcases when Shourya's voice stopped her.
Khushi looked at him with a blank expression. He had an evil smirk on his face.
"You go, Jenny. I will show a lovely room for my lovely wife," he said, smirking at Khushi. Khushi knew that he had some evil idea in his mind.
Jenny nodded and went from there.
"So wifey, come with me. Let me show you your room," he said, putting his hands in his pockets. "And ya, please take your luggage with you. You know, I can't make my hands dirty by touching your things."
She looked at him with her teary eyes. His every word was a double-edged dagger to her chest, but she didn't say a word. She took her luggage with her and silently started going behind him.
