Vinnie was picking at his food while at breakfast with his family. "Vinnie.. sweetie. What's wrong? You've barely touched your food." His mom asked.

"It's nothing." He said softly.

"It's the girl he likes." His brother chimes in. "That's why he's upset."

"Dude..."

"Oh. A girl? Emily or someone else? Why does she have you so upset? Are you dating someone else and haven't told us? Are you guys not serious yet or what?" His mom questioned.

Vinnie took a deep breath. "Not Emily, we stopped talking a few weeks ago and we were never dating. My friend Lieah, she's in an abusive relationship and i'm just upset because I wanna help her but I can't."

"How exactly are you going to help her?" His mother asked. "And who is she? I've never heard of a Lieah."

"I actually was gonna ask.. if I come up with the money could I fly her here and she stays in the guest room? For a week atleast... I just wanna help her out." He asked.

"She doesn't live here?!" His mom asked. "That's an immediate no. Vincent, this is how people get murdered and robbed. Meeting others online and being friends for what? Weeks? Months? Whatever the case may be, we do not let strangers in our home."

"Well yeah... I know that but I know Khalieah and she's not like that. But if you already made up your mind then i'll just tell her she'll have to find another way to get away from a guy that's abusing her if I haven't mentioned it already." Vinnie explained, trying to persuade his mom.

She shrugged. "If you would've known her in person it would've been a different story. Maybe she can go stay with family.. I just don't feel comfortable bringing a stranger into my home without knowing their intentions."

He nodded. "I'm just gonna excuse myself."
