She thought she wouldnât experience Sahara blinkedâ¦
â¦What?
more horror, but she didâ¦
â¦Talon...Samuel!
Even though she wasnât completely sure that she said those names, as her hearing seemed to start playing up on her, Sahara teleported.
She had to make sure that they were alright!
Butâ¦
Thump!
In Talonâs studyâ¦
It was moreâ¦
Thump! Thump!
All she heardâ¦Was her heartâ¦Thumpingâ¦
Againâ¦Talonâs throat had been cutâ¦Just like Zeusâsâ¦Just like her daughterâsâ¦
Sahara felt like seconds dragged on, as she put her hands to her head and even pulled at her hairâ¦
His form was already lifeless, already out of her controlâ¦
Thump!
Sahara felt like breathing was no longer involuntaryâ¦She had to work hard to breath in, to get air into her lungs and to breath back outâ¦
Sahara took deep breaths, but it didnât work. Just one lookâ¦One look and she knew! She couldnât help! She was practically an expert now with the human body, she could mend wounds in a jiffy, she could restore lungs, fix the spinal cord, get rid of poison. Butâ¦She was utterly useless! His heart had already stopped, and his breathing had seized some time ago.
Iâm fucking useless!
Squeezing her eyes shut, Sahara put her hand to her mouth and looked away.
No!
Not Talon!
Thump!
â¦Sahara canât remember the next ten minutes after thisâ¦
When Sahara gets told later, by Steven, she went into hysterics. She called out her daughterâs name, Talonâs name and Zeusâs name, putting her hands out to reach out for them, like she was in the darkâ¦
She cried very loudly, and punched at the ground like she was madâ¦
When she came tooâ¦She was outside, Naruto licking her and Steven hugging her tight.
He got so worried that he raced her away from the area and Sahara was still shaking uncontrollably.
âZeusâ¦â
Was it real!?
Thump!?
âIâm sorry, Sahara.â Steven whispered.
Sahara didnât hear himâ¦Even though he was right next to her earsâ¦
ââ¦Talonâ¦â Sahara mumbled, feeling herself breathing even more heavier. Her eyes wide, yet full of tears.
Steven didnât look at her but shook his head sadly.
â¦She hadnât seen Samuelâ¦Perhapsâ¦Perhaps heâs okâ¦
âSamuel?â Sahara asked, with a bit of hope inside of her.
Steven shook his head again, finally looking at Sahara, âThe killer, got Zeus first, then went to Talon and Samuelâ¦Thenâ¦Disappeared. We canât find him.â
Thump!
She let out a sharp breath.
What the hell!? This wasâ¦A joke rightâ¦
Sahara stood up and wiped her eyes, âAh! I think I had a nightmare and slept walkedâ¦â
Steven sadly looked at her, âSahara?â
She let out a breath and shook her head, âMaybe itâs wedding jittersâ¦â
Taking her into his arms, Steven sadly repeated thatâ¦They were goneâ¦They wereâ¦Really goneâ¦
Thump!
No!
She doesnâtâ¦
Then she remembered, she saw Talonâ¦She saw Zeus!
She saw their throats mercilessly cut and their bodies having been lifeless! The feeling of being utterly useless returned back to her and Sahara nearly broke down once again. Their bodies fell into her head side by sideâ¦First her daughter, then Zeus and then Talon. Strangely, she felt like she was so weak that she couldnât even picture Samuel there as well, that since she hadnât seen him, maybe she could think he was still aliveâ¦But she knew what that was, she knew she was in denialâ¦Yet, Sahara still could not go and see his body, instead she shook her head repeatedly. As it was, she was hardly keeping herself together!
Thump!
Her daughterâ¦Zeus, Talonâ¦Samuelâ¦Wasnât it all the same?
Her daughter had been her life, and Sahara had taken her instinctsâ¦Zeus, her friend, just ready to start his life, but now his life was goneâ¦Talon, her true one and only fatherâ¦Goneâ¦Her brotherâ¦
If you stumble upon this tale on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
It was only just last night, that Samuel had picked her up and turned her around, smiling at herâ¦Talon, they shared a smile and Zeusâ¦
Oh godâ¦Wasnât this because of me!?
âMaster! Stop it!â
Thump!
Sahara blocked off the strange noise in her headâ¦Howâ¦Why had she trusted their words! She shouldnât haveâ¦If she hadnât, wouldnât Talon, Samuel and Zeus still be alive!?
Even though she vaguely remembered hearing about this âkillerâ, Sahara feared her pastâ¦She feared what had happened beforeâ¦She feared that just because of her, their lifeâs have been snuffed out!
In Saharaâs previous lifeâ¦Her daughter hadnât been the only one that diedâ¦Noâ¦A few others had tooâ¦
Wasnât thisâ¦Exactly the same!? Why had she trusted those words! Why!?
Steven was trying to talk to Sahara, the voices in her head were trying to talk to her tooâ¦But she had strangely gotten into a zone where she was sadly thinking of what she was going to doâ¦
â¦What am I going to do!? I was exactly what that woman said! Iâm bad luck! Sheâ¦Was right!
Obviously, people around her are still getting hurtâ¦People she cared aboutâ¦
She still seemed toâ¦Give others bad luckâ¦
Thump!
What other explanation is there?
Even if there was a âkillerââ¦Who was it? Where are they? How can sheâ¦Isnât it plain obvious that they are targeting her? If she is close to others and it isnât even her bad luck, wouldnât they just die anyway, because of this âkillerâ that got away!?
Sahara was suddenly confused to her own thoughtsâ¦Why didnât it make sense? Nothing made sense! What is it she was thinking about anyway? The fact is, she is connected to all three victims, and they are goneâ¦That was fact!
The want to get vengeance was high, the want to have the people back that she cared about most, was also high.
Why would someone want to kill Zeus, then Talon and Samuel? They were all connected to her, they were her familyâ¦
Sahara cared about them veryâ¦Muchâ¦
Then another she cared about, came into her mind, and she went wide eyed once again and had trouble breathing.
Thump!
Sahara put a hand to her heart and fell to the groundâ¦
She felt like she was losing consciousness, but she tried to calm downâ¦
After a couple of minutes, Sahara tried to think calmlyâ¦
There was at least one otherâ¦One other that she cared for very deeplyâ¦
Many times, she closed her eyes and opened them again, many times did she stop herself from letting tears out of her eyes.
She had to be strongâ¦
Noâ¦She had to be stronger!
Thump!
After a tormenting, traumatizing hour, Sahara wasnât completely herself, nor was she wellâ¦But, she had a mission to do.
As much as it hurt her to do what she was going to do, Sahara couldnât let any more people dieâ¦Because of herâ¦And, through all the thoughts lingering inside of her. She couldnât come up with anything else.
She needed time, she wanted timeâ¦Whether it was to calm down, then mourn and be able to move forward or to find this âkillerââ¦She needed time!
Sahara had trouble hearing Steven, when he asked what she was going to do. So, he had to nearly yell out what he said, for her to hear itâ¦
She told him to get that net, not caring that she felt like she had raised her voice to answer him. For some reasonâ¦She needed, or wantedâ¦That netâ¦It was the last thing that Talon had done for her after all but, it was alsoâ¦
When Steven tried to stay instead, Sahara angrily told him to goâ¦Hell, if someone came for herâ¦Wouldnât it be better for everyone anyway? She didnât particularly want protection at the momentâ¦Besides, she had that much anger brewing inside of her, that she wanted someone to come at her! Let them if they dare!
Thump!
Just go and get it pleaseâ¦I need timeâ¦To calm downâ¦
Taking deep breaths and deciding on keeping her thoughts to herself, Sahara focused on the times that Matthew and she had been together.
She needed to put that upfront at this momentâ¦
She needed to remind herself why she was leavingâ¦
The urge to see him one last time was really strongâ¦
Sahara bit her lip in frustration, as she knew that she might not even show herself in front of him ever again. How could she!?
She was bad luck! Bad luck to a pointâ¦Where people died! Life is snuffed out, forever leaving this worldâ¦
If it was any other kind of bad luckâ¦But it wasnâtâ¦
Sahara had always found it strange when she read books and watched anime, on how the mc would always have friends and be strongerâ¦Actually, she found it ironic.
She totally understood that they became stronger, and that they would be happier. They would grow in wanting to protect those they cared about and here she wasâ¦Trying to always stay away from people.
All she had in her previous life, was her daughter and sister, that she let herself get close too. Sahara didnât let anyone else inâ¦
The strange feeling that she feltâ¦Was because she wasnât exactly lonely, and she wasnât regretting not being around people. She knows that people like to have friends, they want a partner to spend the rest of their lives with, but she got over that and got used to being on her ownâ¦
It seemed almost sad, that for Sahara to protect the people that she cared for, seems to need her to stay away from them. It was at her house that someone hurt their foot, by falling down the stairs. It was at her place that someone was going away from, when they were in a car crash. It was her, the last person someone saw, before they lost their hearing for life. It was once again her, when someone wanted to talk to, before they killed themselvesâ¦
And now, in this life, well the only thing that had told her this bad luck had disappeared, was the voice inside her head. Fair enough they also agreed with the theory that she had with previously, with herself being bad luck, but why had she trusted them when they said that she wasnât bad luck any longer?
Since being here, Gabriella had treated her like crap, Sahara nearly got poisoned to death, but when she was on her own, in the vast land area, nothing had happenedâ¦Ohâ¦She guessed Talon was unwell, but was that her fault? He didnât dieâ¦Itâs so confusing! Does she believe, with all this evidence? Or does she believe that this was just something coincidental?
Is itâ¦Thatâ¦She was meant to be alone in this life too? She was better off with no one by her side? Does that meanâ¦She even has to say goodbye to Steven now?
Sahara looked out into the horizon, watching the sun start to set.
I canât see me being any kind of mc that people would want to read about. Who would want to know about someone that felt like they had to be alone? Who would understand? Why am I suddenly thinking of books again? Books areâ¦Not realâ¦I guess it doesnât matter, who caresâ¦I just donât want any more people to die because of meâ¦
â¦And even though there are two sides to every story, no more harm comes to those that Sahara does care about in Green Haven in her absence, after she makes the decision and follows through with itâ¦Is it coincidence or fate?
Steven returned, it hadnât been easy to get the net, as it was in Talonâs study and they wanted to know why he wanted it and what it would be used forâ¦Sadly, it was the last thing that Talon received before his death and Steven couldnât bring himself to tell Sahara thatâ¦He just couldnâtâ¦
After seeing Sahara go into hysterics the way she had, he found that she was so sad to the lossâ¦As it was, her hands had blood and dirt all over them, from her punching the groundâ¦Some of that dirt and blood had found itself elsewhere on her too, like through her hair or on her face andâ¦Sahara looked like she had no idea. It seems like the last thing on her mind that she looked like she was wounded in about three places and hadnât bathed for a week.
While trying to calm her down before, she hadnât even noticed her hands being treated to at the same time. She wouldnât stop trembling and muttering things that he didnât understand and hear properly. It had been scary, even for Steven, as Sahara felt like she was miles away, even though she had been in his arms. He felt likeâ¦He was losing herâ¦
What he didnât understand, was why she wanted the net right now, at this momentâ¦
Couldnât they wait? Perhaps until tomorrow? Why now?
Giving Sahara the net, Steven couldnât help but get upset at Saharaâs face.
She had cried, but for three people that were close to her that had suddenly perished, he thought she would cry more. Yet, at this moment, she looked like she was starting to get under control again.
âThank you.â
Thenâ¦
She looked at himâ¦And it was like she was dead insideâ¦
âIâ¦What Iâm about to tell you, I donât care if you like it or not.â
It was true, she was shutting off her feelings, she didnât care if he caredâ¦
âWhatâ¦What is it you want to do?â Steven asked, worriedâ¦
Sahara shook her head a bit, unable to know what he said, âWhat?â
Steven looked around and then repeated himself a little louder, getting even more worried about her. He was absolutely sure that he was talking normally and that she seemed to have hearing problems suddenlyâ¦
He was right though, Sahara could hardly hear himâ¦All she heard is âThump! Thump!â.
ââ¦Iâm going to leave with the intention of never come back.â
Thatâs rightâ¦If she wasnât around, then Matthew will live a long lifeâ¦Andâ¦She needed him to be alive. That was her solution to the problem of her being âbad luckâ to those around her and keeping Matthew safeâ¦
