Chapter 3 of 33

Waiting For You

Poems Of Elegance173 words~1 min read

I wait for you,

People walking past.

Will you come?

My wandering gaze,

Searching,

Through the crowds.

You’ll come,

I believe,

In our wondrous love,

You won't give up.

You can't,

Can you?

My hope diminishes,

Little by little,

Like the daylight vanishing.

My eyes sting,

Stars start to appear twinkling,

it's dark now.

Minutes tick by,

Turning into hours.

Still I wait.

Am I a fool?

You will come,

Won't you?

Have you given up?

On the girl you promised the moon,

Already.

Have you no fight?

My heart mourns,

Our memories flashing by.

I mourn,

For our lost love.

For the days you would bring me ice cream,

Cuddle with me because the movie was too scary.

Treating me like a princess,

Telling me I deserved it all.

I mourn,

The guy I lost.

The one who would do anything for a smile,

Play games just to win me a teddy bear.

Stay up with me because I had a nightmare,

Telling me it’ll be ok.

This is goodbye,

I guess.
