Chapter 20 of 33

Sleeping Beauty

Poems Of Elegance160 words~1 min read

Sleeping beauty,

What a cutie,

Wanders the castle,

Such a hassle,

So many winding stairs,

Thank gosh, there’s no bears,

Climbing ever higher,

Not a loose wire!

Ducks it just in time,

Now, if only I had a dime,

Gosh, almost there,

Just doing this on a dare,

Yes! I’m at the top,

Not gonna stop,

I ain’t got no flaw,

Found a door,

What’s behind it? I ponder,

No time to wander,

Inching it open,

There sits a woman looking golden,

She beckoned me forward,

Feeling a little cornered,

I took a little step,

With a little less prep,

She smiled,

To be honest, she looked a little wild,

Sitting next to a spindle,

Not a Kindle,

Quite odd,

Maybe I should give her a little prod,

Touch this spindle, my dear,

Just right here,

So, on the needle, I pricked my finger,

I did not linger,

Instead, I fell into quite a slumber,

Didn't even get her number.
