Jewels and gems,
Worth a pretty dime,
Pink, green, and blue,
Old and grimy, shiny and new,
Taken out on occasion,
Dusted down, polished off.
Shown off to the world,
They gather round, they marvel,
Glittering in the light,
So pretty, they say,
Some smile, others look on in jealousy,
Still, there worn well into the night.
Itâs now well past midnight,
Time to be put away again,
In its box, in the drawer,
Hidden from view, collecting dust,
Until next time.
