Hearing that, Daniel who was seated on the front passenger seat looked at the group and sighed: "Alice, you never grew up in a noble family, you would never understand something like that. Reputation may sound simple, but you might not know how much is involved in it. Too many people depend on it to raise their so- called status, which they view as something more important than life itself. The moment they are deprived of it, it will result in them suffering a fate worse than death."
"Is that so?" Alice said, "Then is protecting this reputation a good thing or a bad thing?"
When she finished, the car was silent. No one answered her, and perhaps no one could give her a standard answer.
The so-called fame had given these people a different life. They had all enjoyed the benefits of fame and they all wanted to protect it so much that their emotions had become extremely volatile.
"Don't think about it." William domineeringly pulled her into his embrace.
"Alright."
Alice nodded, she thought that only by being immersed in that life since one was young would one be able to understand it.
"I'll take you to buy jewelry."
William said. He had been busy with internal affairs in Cullen Family and had not brought her out for a shopping.
"Jewelry?" Alice looked at him in surprise.
William looked down at her, thinking that she was unhappy, and said, "Then, I'll bring you to buy clothes and bags."
Alice finally understood what he meant and agreed, "Do you want to take me for a walk? Well, I want to buy you some clothes."
"Sure, help me pick one."
William hugged her in his arms, lowered his head and kissed her forehead.
Daniel raised his eyes to look at the rearview mirror. Seeing them being so affectionate, a smile appeared on his face.
No matter what, they finally made up with each other.
William led Alice shopping, and they went to famous brand stores. She stood in the male clothing store and carefully picked the clothes. This coat was not bad, but the patterns were not good.
William casually leaned against wall, staring directly at her.
How could she be so good-looking?
The two sales clerks at the side looked at them. One was looking at the clothes and the other at the people. The atmosphere was completely out of their control, so they stood there awkwardly.
"This coat is not bad." Alice saw an overcoat in the middle of the hall. It was made out of a dark gray, slanted pattern and it was neither formal nor casual, but it somehow matched up to William's temperament. "Please, I want to try on this one."
"I'm sorry, miss, you are not allowed to try on clothes at this store."
The sales clerk said apologetically.
"Oh." Just as Alice was about to give up, Daniel walked forward to talk to them for a bit and then made a call. Only then did the two sales clerks recognize him as the real William as they asked him to try on.
"This way, please. It was originally the customer lounge."
The sales clerk opened a door.
"Take me in for a change." William only stared at Alice, as if he wanted to try and put her on.
The sales clerks gave him shocked looks.
Alice's face was a little hot, she pushed him, "Stop messing around, quickly go in and change. Change into the shirt and tie, and I'll see the overall effects."
She took a shirt and a tie.
"Follow me in!" William said tyrannically.
"William!" Alice glared at him. He really was messing around with her by asking her, a woman, to dress with him in public.
"You're staring at me again, Alice! You're trying to blame me again!" This woman wanted to rebel again.
"Quickly go in."
Alice was helpless as she pushed him into the room. Daniel smiled and followed in to serve him. She turned around and continued to pick clothes, preparing to choose a set for William.
Suddenly, she saw a shadow.
At this moment, a familiar figure was standing outside the door. It was a woman.
Yuri.
Yuri stood on the shining floor and the glass door reflected her smiling face as she waved.
Waving? Alice put down the tie in her hand and walked out. She was a little surprised, "Miss Yuri, are you here to buy clothes as well? Did you come with Mr.
Y?"
Yuri smiled and nodded, "Yes, Mister is buying clothes next door, do you want to go and greet him?"
Greetings?
Alice was startled, but after thinking about it, she agreed to it. She followed Yuri and entered a woman's clothing store.
The lounge was very luxury, the sun was shining on the modern European furniture and there was a fresh smell in the air.
Mr. Y is sitting on the sofa with his legs crossed. He was holding a cup of coffee in his hand as his sunglasses and mask concealed his appearance.
Alice followed eyesight and saw that there was a large window on the other side. There was an empty space outside that looked like a square.
There were people feeding pigeons in the square, young people playing musical instruments, old people walking, like a picture.
This scene made everyone feel very comfortable.
"Sir, Miss Alice has arrived."
Yuri said. She then locked the door and quietly left.
Alice did not notice as she looked at Mr. Y with a smile, "Hello Mister, is Mister going to buy clothes for your girlfriend or relatives?"
Mr. Y, who was sitting there, seemed to be distracted. He raised his head and looked at her, "What?"
"This is a ladies' shop, isn't it?"
Alice looked at him confusedly.
Mr. Y was wearing a mask and sunglasses, so Alice could not see his expression. He paused for a few seconds before saying, "Right, buy clothes for my family. Miss Alice, take a seat."
"I'm not going to sit down. I just came over to say hello to mister." Alice stood there and smiled, "My husband is right next door to the shop, can I introduce you to him? My husband has always said that he wants to thank you personally."
Hearing this, Mr. Y seemed to have heard a funny joke. He let out a laugh. After a few seconds, he said, "There's no need. The president William is so superior and mighty. I am a jobless man, how can I be qualified to meet him?" "You are being too modest."
How could someone as mysterious and capable as him be a jobless man? She didn't believe it.
Alice thought.
"Oh yeah, I heard you said that Madam Cullen is sick. How is she?" Mr. Y put the coffee cup away and asked.
"Mother is currently in recuperation, so it's nothing big. It's just that the incident at the wedding has annoyed her greatly. Thank you for your concern, sir." Alice said.
Mr. Y nodded. "It's good that she's fine. After going around the whole world for all these years, I know some ways maintain health. When I return, I will have Yuri list them for you."
Hearing this, Alice looked at him in surprise and did not say anything for a long time.
"What's wrong? You don't want it?'
Mr. Y sat there and asked.
"Oh, no." Alice hurriedly said, "I am very grateful for Mister's good intentions. You have helped me too much along the way, so much that I don't know how to thank you."
In fact, she wanted to ask, just because he admired her painting and wanted her to be happy that he helped her along the way?
Would he be too good? As if he had no life of his own.
Mr. Y chuckled, "It's just a small matter, not as serious as you think. Go back, your husband will look for you in a while."
"That's true. Then I'll leaving."
Alice thought that if William did not see her after he changed his clothes, he would definitely search for her. Very quickly, her phone "exploded".
When she turned to leave, she heard a sound of panic behind her. She turned around and saw Mr. Y standing up from the sofa and looking across the room. Although she couldn't see his true appearance, Alice could feel his nervousness.
Nervous? She never saw him act like that, so she looked over and saw that outside the window, William was walking towards her in the clothes she had chosen for him.
Step by step.
His expression was unsightly.
His coat flapped in the wind.
Behind him was a black sedan.
Alice was also shocked for a moment. Why did he have that expression? Could he be jealous again?
Alice looked at him confusedly, but just as she was about to run towards the window, William walked over, "Hide!"
He shouted at the top of his lungs, his frantic voice was audible through the French windows.
Alice looked at him, then silently took a few steps back.
William walked up and glared fiercely at the window as the car behind him suddenly sped up and crashed into the window.
"Bam."
A loud sound.
Alice stood in the innermost corner and looked at this scene in a daze. William actually asked someone to crash a huge hole on the window just like that.
What's wrong with him?
Alice frowned, she should have told him before coming to see Mr. Y.
