"Who did this for you?" William turned and coldly said, "He hurt me so badly four years ago, and even now, N.E. still hasn't recovered. If I don't teach him a lesson, I am not a man!"
"I know you did it for me."
"Save...!"
"Just take it as I overthought." Alice interrupted him and held his hand tightly. She said in a gentle voice, "In any case, I'll just take it as if you did this for me, because I don't want to separate from you anymore. I don't want to care about everything else, I just want to be with you, and the twins."
William's body stiffened for a few seconds, he looked at her coldly: "Did you say all this because you wanted to save Patrick from my hands?"
Say something about loving him, say something about missing him.
She clearly did not love his character.
There was a hint of jealousy in his voice.
Alice held his hand, and looked at his handsome face.
He didn't believe her.
If he didn't believe her, then it would be difficult. She didn't want to miss another second, nor did she want to waste another second on these doubts.
As she thought about it, Alice turned to look at her surroundings. This was a quiet little town with very few people passing by.
It was a very unique environment.
A bold idea suddenly appeared in Alice's mind.
Even though she knew this place, this time, wasn't appropriate.
She held William's hand and suddenly knelt down. Alice raised her head and looked at William.
"William, please marry me."
Alice said in all seriousness, "I want to marry you immediately and never leave you again."
There would be some small setbacks and some arguments between them, but they would not separate.
In the quiet little town, on the long bridge.
A woman proposed to a man.
The man stood there, staring at her, and a second later he flung her hand away with such force that he stepped back, his expression was no longer calm nor composed, but baffled.
Alice knelt there with one knee, her clothes were still stained with blood. It was the first time she saw such an expression on William's face, as if he had seen a ghost.
No.
Even if he saw a ghost, he wouldn't lose his composure like this.
"You, you..." William stood there and glared at her, and for a long time, he did not manage to utter a complete sentence.
Alice looked at him quietly with a little bit of innocence on her fair face.
"You, you, you!" William reached out to feel his sleeves, and stared at her, "Get up first!"
"If you don't agree, I won't get up."
Alice said as she knelt there.
"Then kneel there!" William glared at her fiercely, turned around and left, he walked down the bridge step by step.
Alice was left in the middle of the bridge, speechless.
She was a woman, and she took the initiative to propose. He even run away?
Hadn't he been matured? Why fleeing?
Was her urgency frightened him?
But she really did not want to be like Mary and Patrick.
Forget it, let's take it slow.
Alice sighed, she was about to stand up when William suddenly turned and ran back.
After he recovered from his illness, he even walked in a mature manner, and he never ran.
Alice immediately knelt down, William walked back to squat in front of her, approaching her with a face that was darker than before.
"Do you really love me?" William stared at her and asked with a cold voice.
"Yes."
Alice nodded strongly.
"Swear it." William said.
Swear? Was she so untrustworthy?
Alice helplessly raised her hand and looked at him, saying each word, "I swear, I love William. I will only love you this entire life."
"Not enough!" William coldly said as he squatted in front of her and frowned.
An old Italian woman came over the bridge from the grocery store, looked at them confusion.
Listening to William's words, Alice stared into his eyes and continued, "The reason I said I love you was because I wanted to say it, and it was not because of anyone else. Everything I said was true, and if I lied, God could punish me for it."
William stared at her, as if he was examining her.
"Am I good enough?" Alice asked, "Then will you marry me?"
"Is there a need to be in such a hurry?"
William coldly snorted.
Hearing that, Alice smiled bitterly, "William, I am an ordinary woman, there is nothing special about me. I will look for trouble, and I will hesitate, but I have one advantage, and that is once I think it through, I will persevere on doing what I want to do, and will not hesitate."
She praised herself.
William looked at her coldly and snorted disdainfully, "In that case, you have changed your heart already."
"I..." Alice was tongue-tied. Just as she was about to explain, she suddenly thought that William acting like this was especially funny. She changed her posture from kneeling to squatting at the center of the bridge and used her hand to brush his face, "You used to be jealous of yourself, and now you are worried about whether I've changed my heart or not? William, are you bored or childish?" "Am I bored? I'm childish?"
William glared at her.
"Don't say such words if you're not bored. Even as a stupid woman as I am, I have thought it through. Why don't you understand?" Alice smiled and said, her voice was soft, like the sound of water running under the bridge.
William squatted in front of her and said word by word, "Let me warn you, this is a mental illness, even if it is a normal illness, it cannot change so capriciously, understand?"
"What do you mean?"
Alice asked, she was puzzled.
"It's... Forget it." William could sense the happiness in Alice's eyes. He stood up from the bridge and coldly said, "Aren't you going to buy vegetables?"
He was willing to accompany her to buy vegetables?
Alice immediately stood up and almost fell off. William immediately extended his hand to support her.
"My feet are numb." Alice laughed.
"Smile even though your feet are numb?" William looked at her with furrowed brows, but he did not let go of her hand.
"Because I've thought of one thing, and I'm feeling really relaxed now." Alice smiled and said.
"Thinking through something like proposing to me?"
William glanced at her coldly.
"As long as you agree to marry me, I don't care about that. Come, let's go buy some vegetables." Alice pulled him away, one of her feet was still numb, so she decided to jump instead of walking.
William looked at her from head to toe.
Initially, he thought that she said these words to him for Patrick's sake, and was intentionally trying to bewitch him, but now it seems like her eyes were filled with smiles, as if she wasn't lying.
"Do you really love me?"
William asked suspiciously.
"Why do you not believe me? I love you." Alice walked on one leg.
William held her hands, and said with a low voice, "Then what about that William in the past?"
"I love him. I've always loved him."
Alice said without hesitation and jumped forward.
"Heh." Hearing this, William's heart immediately sank, and said sarcastically, "You don't even know what your face looks like, yet you dare to be a playgirl."
"Playgirl?" Alice looked at him in disbelief, "Am I a playgirl?"
"Definitely."
William defined her.
Not knowing why, Alice felt that his unreasonable way of making fun of others was the same as before. She was startled for a moment, then smiled: "Then just take me as a playgirl, even if you become a pig, I will still love you."
"Alice!"
"As long as that pig's name is William, I love it." Alice looked at him and said with a clear smile.
She had said so many words of love today that she was almost tired of it.
William knew that what she said was not right, he knew that her words were tantamount to insulting him, but the strange thing was that his heart which had just sunk once again started to float.
She hopped forward. The sunlight fell on her face, but it no longer had the sickly look from before. It seemed to be filled with vigor and vitality.
His gaze fell on her lips, and his throat instantly tightened.
Alice was especially good at bewitching him today.
Coming out from the supermarket, Alice and William carried their stuff as they walked back. William's arm was wrapped around hers as they walked on the road like a normal couple.
"William, please, stop attacking Patrick. No matter if it's verbal or physical, he's in enough pain now." Alice still mentioned Patrick.
"He deserves it." William cast a cold glance at her.
Hearing that, Alice laughed, "You're quite busy."
"What?"
"You are jealous of yourself, jealous of Patrick, and even care about whether or not I am a playgirl, aren't you busy?" Alice ridiculed him.
William shot her a cold glance.
Alice felt somewhat enchanting feeling from his eyes.
Alice looked at him and said, "There's nothing going on between Patrick and I, and I believe you understand me too. After so many things have happened, it's impossible for anything to happen between me and him."
