"In England, a lot of people take care of him." William said.
"Why don't you take care of him yourself? That's your son! " Alice asked somewhat excitedly. Did he not have any feelings for his son?
"Why put him in England, why don't you take it with you, you don't like this kid at all, do you? William, are you still suspecting something? Do you still not believe me?" Alice asked excitedly.
She knew well that William would not be able to give the next generation any happiness.
"I do." William enunciated each word, "Alice, I believe in you. From now on, I will believe you even if you say the sun rises from the west!"
So determined.
Alice's eyes were extremely red.
"I'm sorry, I was too agitated."
Alice said.
She had hated Cullen Family and William for too long, and the moment she mentioned them, she found it hard to be objective.
She hated herself yo be like this.
"I don't blame you." William said in a serious tone.
"William, go rest, I'm hanging up." She didn't know how to continue to chat with William.
William remained silent for a few seconds, before unwillingly said, "Oh."
Alice immediately hung up the phone. With a glance, she saw that the maid and the babysitter were staring at her weirdly.
Kathy no longer cried.
"Help me take care of Kathy."
After saying that, Alice turned and left, and her footsteps becoming more hurried.
She returned to her room and closed the door. She placed the Photo Frame and her phone on the drawers, then threw herself onto the bed, tears were already streaming down her face.
All that she had hoped for, William had suddenly given them all to her.
He began to know to care about his daughter, and he chose to believe her. But why didn't she feel moved now?
Why now, why it had taken so long, why after all the pain she had suffered, then he suddenly became what she wanted him to be?
He changed back. What about her?
On this day, Alice silently cried on the bed for a long time.
It was a tranquil night, and the light was dim.
Smoke lingered over the barbecue stalls at the square, making every face seem illusory.
Alice and Anna sat in an inconspicuous corner. On the table, there were roasted food and some light delicacies.
"It smells so good. I really want to eat it."
Anna was fascinated by the smell of the barbecue.
"When I was overseas, I was always thinking about domestic cuisine. I really can't get used to Italian cuisine." Alice sat on a blue plastic chair, her long hair was tied up into a ponytail, looking neat and tidy. Her beautiful face had a hint of red on it, and she was holding a bottle of beer in her hand.
This was the first time Alice called her out to eat something after she returned home.
"Don't you drink?" Alice picked up the beer and took another sip, her face turned even redder.
Anna picked up her cup and drank a mouthful of fruit juice, then said, "I already told you 180 times, I'm pregnant, my husband doesn't allow me to drink."
At this moment, the meal that Lewis cooked personally was placed in front of her.
Hearing this, Alice put down the beer can, leaned her body forward, and placed one hand on her chin, she looked at her with an envious expression on her face: "I'm so envious of you, to have a husband to care for and accompany you throughout your pregnancy, it's so nice."
As Anna sat there, she couldn't help but feel her heart ache for those words.
Alice had a hard time during pregnancy, she was dumped first, then imprisoned. Finally, because her body was too weak, even after recuperating for a long time, she was still unable to breastfeed. One of the children was still not by her side.
This was a huge blow to any woman.
As she thought about this, Alice sat there and drank another bottle by herself. Her face became more and more red, and her eyes were filled with confusion and drunkenness.
"You've had enough." Anna immediately reached out to stop her and snatched the beer can from her hands.
"Not enough." Alice's drunk voice changed to a different tune, she used her hand to support her cheek and looked at her, "Anna, you are really blessed, you should cherish it, okay?"
"I know. Alice, you will also have your own happiness."
Anna nodded and said with a smile.
"I wouldn't dare."
Alice said with a smile on her face. She opened another can of beer and continued drinking.
"Eat something and don't keep drinking." Anna looked at her worriedly and reached out to grab the beer from Alice's hands.
Alice opened her hands again and again, raised her head, and drank the entire can of beer. In the end, she handed an empty can to her and revealed a victorious smile, "Finished."
Anna frowned, but she didn't stop her.
Forget it, let her drink. It is hard for her to hold it back.
After three rounds of drinking.
People on the square kept arriving and leaving.
Alice was completely drunk, she held the roasted bamboo stick and drew around, drawing the word "William".
"Anna, do you know what is called a great rise and fall?" Alice suddenly said with a faint intoxication in her voice.
Anna looked at her, "What?"
"Have you ever tried when your love was at its strongest, kacha, it was cut off by a blade?" Alice asked with her face slanted.
"Have you ever tried when you hate one the most? Kacha, that man gave you another cut?" Alice laughed and said, her smile was deep and her face was completely red, "When you wanted to love him, he said that he didn't. Finally, when you don't want to love him, he sticks to you and tells you that he regrets and wants to love you and that you must love him, because he was right."
Anna sat at the side and looked at her confusedly, "Alice, what are you talking about? Are you talking about Mr. William?"
Mr. William regretted it?
"Anna." Alice gently called out her name, not answering the question, and only said, "He is right, he also has his own difficulties, but why am I so hesitant, why do I not dare anymore?"
"What?"
Anna looked at her with a confused expression. She did not understand what she was saying.
"He's not wrong. Was I wrong?" Alice asked in a daze, "Am I wrong? I don't know what it was in front of me. I feel like I'm just staring at a thick mist, and I don't dare to go down there. I'm afraid that there's a bottomless abyss down there, and I'm afraid that I'll fall down and die a horrible death."
On the wall outside of the barbeque shop hung a small television with news being broadcasted. It was news from abroad.
[Cullen Family and Lancaster family have joined forces to open a winery. The prospects of the marriage are bright.]
Alice turned her head to look at the news, and pointed with her finger, saying with a smile, "Look, Abyss."
Anna had no idea what she was saying.
A passerby walked past, and he wore ear nails. Alice slanted her body and pointed with her finger again, revealing her teeth while laughing, "Look, there's another abyss."
Anna pressed her hand down, and frowned at her, "Alice, are you alright?"
Alice's eyes were covered with a look of drunkenness, she looked at Anna's somewhat plump face and blinked her eyes a few times, "But he's right. He still loves me. I can't just think about how I feel, can I? I can't be that selfish, can I?"
"Alice, what are you talking about?" Anna looked at her helplessly, "Forget it, let's go back. I'll have my husband come and fetch you."
Alice drank too much.
"Do I want to be selfish? What would he do if I didn't go on? Can he accept it?" Alice said incoherently, as she sat there supporting her head with her hands, "I'm so confused, why do I have to listen to the orders of others? What exactly should I do?"
Anna looked at her and couldn't help but sigh.
What did this girl go through? How did she become like this?
It seemed like calling her out to eat today was not her true intent, but to get drunk.
Just as Anna was about to call her husband, a strong light suddenly flashed into their eyes, and Alice was dazzled until she laid on the table.
Anna used her hands to cover her eyes, and then looked ahead, to see a tall figure walking towards her.
He was a tall man.
As soon as he appeared, many people glanced at him. However, because of the poor lighting in the corner, nobody could see his appearance clearly.
Only Anna was able to see it clearly after he walked closer.
Anna's phone fell to the ground, and was directly turned off.
The man walked in front of them and looked down at Alice who was lying on the table. The table that was filled with beer cans and barbecued food made him frown.
"You, you, you, you... you are..."
Anna looked at him in shock, as if she had seen a ghost.
Patrick.
She would never forget the Patrick who had a face like a noble young master. At that time, she had even been captured into the Police station for delivering a letter to him.
Wasn't he dead?
Why did he appear here again?
"My car is over there. I'll get someone to take you back." Patrick stood there, he was a little worn out from the journey. He looked down at Anna, his long and narrow eyes were warm.
