"What are you doing?"
William looked at his empty hands and frowned in dissatisfaction.
"I would also like to meet your mother alone." Alice smiled and said, "Don't go in, with your temper, it will make things even more chaotic."
"Will I make it more chaotic?"
William's face was unsightly,so in her eyes, he was just a troublemaker?
"Go back and wait for me." "I want to eat your Egg Fried Rice."
Alice tiptoed to her feet and gently kissed him on the cheek. With a soft and clear voice, she walked inside.
William stood at the same place and did not follow along. He stared at her back and was still a little worried.
His tone was as if she were entering a cave filled with tigers and dragons. Alice did not say anything and walked forward without turning her head back. Daniel followed from the side as he led her into the luxurious living room. The entire living room was irregular in shape and was luxuriously decorated.
A faint fragrance drifted in the air.
Alice looked forward.
She would remember this look for the rest of her life.
Large patches of sunlight shone through the door, illuminating the entire living room. A woman wearing a purple dress stood in front of a painting. Her figure was enchanting and graceful. She was tall and had brown curly hair that casually fell onto her shoulders.
As if sensing that someone had entered, the woman slowly turned her head, her beautiful face looked so beautiful that even the sunlight would lose its luster, and she smiled towards Alice.
That smile was noble and distant.
That smile gave people the illusion that it was meant to last for a long time.
Sunlight scattered down, dancing with the golden fragments of light on her body. The woman stood there, looking like a painting worthy of being embellished with treasures.
So beautiful.
Alice stood beside Daniel, completely intimidated by the woman's beauty.
Back then, when they were upstairs, she was still unable to see Elizabeth face clearly. But now, she could clearly see who Gong Ou's good face was passed on to.
"Madam."
Daniel respectfully nodded at Elizabeth.
"Go down." Elizabeth said lightly.
"Yes, ma'am."
Daniel left, leaving only Alice standing there.
Elizabeth walked to a sofa and sat down, sizing her up with his eyes.
Alice stood there, wearing a beautiful long skirt, which made her figure look pretty good. The diamond ring on her finger and the necklace on her neck was a valuable object.
Elizabeth couldn't see any shimmer that she was worthy of William cherishing as a rare treasure on her face.
"Hello, Auntie."
Alice stood there and politely lowered her head to greet her.
"Auntie? Am I that old?" Elizabeth chuckled as she placed her hands on her own beautiful and moving face.
Alice looked at her in silence. Her words rolled on her mouth a few times, but she didn't know what to say.
Elizabeth had seen a lot of people, and she could tell that Alice was thinking of ways to please her with a glance. She could not help but laugh, "There's no need to be restrained, I've seen too many famous ladies with noble and elegant manners. Even if you think about your words a few more times, it wouldn't work in my eyes. So, rather than being restrained, why don't you just do it yourself?"
Alice stood there and raised her eyes to look at Elizabeth.
This was a ruthless move.
"Just like Steward Daniel, you can call me Madam." Elizabeth said indifferently, instantly increasing the distance between the two of them to an unattainable extent, as though showing her gratitude, "Take a seat."
Elizabeth obviously didn't like her.
Alice took a deep breath and forced out a smile, "Yes, Madam."
She sat down on the sofa in front of Elizabeth, straightening her seat with both hands on her knees.
Elizabeth watched her attentively, and looked at her carefully once again, from top to bottom, not letting go of a single place.
Alice unconsciously adjusted her breathing.
After a moment, Elizabeth said directly, "Miss Alice, in all honesty, you disappoint me."
Alice's heart sank, but she couldn't show it on her face. She just sat there silently, trying her best to keep a calm expression as she looked at Elizabeth.
"Although I am not satisfied with your background and character, on the way here I thought that the person who could make my son fall for her must be a very special person."
Elizabeth lazily and elegantly leaned against the back of the sofa, scrutinizing her with her eyes, "But I can't see any bright spots on you right now, even if you were in the crowd and be searched. I really want to know what's so special about you."
Alice sat there, straightening her back and then smiled lightly, "I also really want to know, if Madam can get the answer from William, I would be extremely grateful." With a light sentence, she carefully resolved Elizabeth's tricky problem. Elizabeth sat there with her face in her hands. Upon hearing this, a hint of surprise flashed past her beautiful eyes, and then, she slowly said, "You want to tell me that my son loves you crazily, and doesn't want me to care about whether you have any good points. My son loves you, right?"
This mouth was surprisingly clever.
"That's not what I meant."
Alice said softly.
"Miss Clyne, I don't want to be the kind of person to drive away my son's lover, but this time is indeed too excessive." Elizabeth slowly said, "At the press conference, William publicly revealed his relationship, making both me and his father shock."
Alice looked at her, and her lips tightly pursed.
"I don't want to say anything else."Elizabeth took out a document from beside her and passed it to her, "This is the wife that the family has chosen for William, and is also the Marriage people.
"Yes, ma'am."
Alice nodded, she extended her hand and took the document and opened it.
A picture slid down from the inside. It was a young girl with long golden hair wearing a riding outfit. She was handsome and pulled on the reins. She was smiling at the camera with an unrestrained beauty. A pair of eyes as blue as ocean were filled with absolute confidence.
Beautiful girl.
If one stood together with William, they would definitely match very well. One was confident, the other was conceited.
"Has Lancaster family heard of it?" Elizabeth asked.
"Nope."
Alice shook her head honestly and took out the document from inside.
Even the girl's personal data was made of good paper. It felt extraordinary to touch, as if it was a high-end piece of paper.
The document started with the words Lancaster family, and the history of the family could be traced back to 1815.
With a rough glance, Alice found out from the golden-haired girl's resume that she had studied in a variety of universities and that even the 18 year old coming of age ceremony was held at a national palace.
"The reason why William is considered to be the richest person in the world is only because he had evaluated his personal assets." Elizabeth sat opposite of her and said, his voice gentle but also revealing a hint of nobility.
Alice looked at Elizabeth, not understanding what she meant. "Tiffany is a descendant of the Lancaster family. In order to prevent the assets from being exposed, all of the companies in the Lancaster family would not list their names on the market. Just based on the assets alone, the Lancaster family is the richest one, for it's just that no one in the outside world knows about it." Elizabeth continued, "This is the background of the Lancaster family."
Tiffany.
She was precisely the object of the marriage engagement with William.
Alice was a little intimidated by what she had heard. What was this fact that the two rich families at the top of the world were making strong unions?
In this second, Alice finally understood how small she was.
In front of these two families, she was simply nobody.
Who would let their own son marry a nobody like her, and not a young miss of the Lancaster family?
"For example, our clan's relationship with Miss Alice, and perhaps our explanation, you don't understand." Elizabeth said, and spoke very straightforwardly, "The reason why I said all these was because I hoped that Miss Alice would understand one principle, which is to retreat after knowing the difficulties."
She retreated knowing the difficulties she faced.
Alice's eyes dimmed. This was not difficult, and this was more difficult than it could get.
The two families were like mountains as they were thrown in front of her. Even if she cut off her fingers, she wouldn't be able to climb over them.
"In Miss Alice, intelligent women will always recognize their own worth, and take as much as they want, don't you think?" Elizabeth smiled and said.
She looked at Alice; obviously, this girl who had never seen the real world before was stunned by her.
William had a stubborn personality disorder, making him give up was too difficult.
She could only start with this girl in front of her, and this should not be a difficult thing.
Miss Clyne's body stiffened at her words.
How much was it worth? What did he take her for?
"Madam, Miss Clyne." Daniel walked in from outside and lowered his head to Alice, "Miss Clyne, Young Master asked me to tell you that he has already fried the Egg-Fried Rice."
"What?" Elizabeth looked at Daniel in shock, unable to believe him, "Egg-Fried Rice?William made it?"
How is this possible?
When did William go to the kitchen? How could he go to the kitchen?
Alice looked at the information in her hands, then recovered her senses and looked at the graceful and beautiful Elizabeth, she regained her senses and smiled at his, "Tell William to wait for a moment, I'll be there in a while."
She was almost scared by such a huge family, and William would not allow her to be scared.
"Alright, Miss Clyne."
Daniel respectfully lowered his head and retreated.
Elizabeth was still in disbelief, she raised her eyes and looked at Alice. Her son actually cooked for this woman? How could that be possible? "Madam." Alice placed the document in her hand on the tea table in front of her, stood up from the sofa, and said with a serious face, "I know, whether it is Cullen family or myself, I am insignificant in front of you."
"You seem to have more to say."
Elizabeth was a smart woman.
"Yes, I think there should be different choices in life. Why must they form strong alliances? Why can't William choose the insignificant me? " Alice said.
A hint of dissatisfaction flashed past Elizabeth's eyes, but she did not display it on her face, and only asked: "Do you think you are worthy of love of William?"
"Not worthy."
Alice said honestly.
"That's right, putting aside our clan's background, just based on your knowledge, character, and behavior, you are not worthy of William." Elizabeth said sharply.
