Patrick was unwilling to let it go.
Alice became anxious and blurted out, "I know that we are people of two extremes, but I am in love with him!"
she cried out.
Patrick stared at her blankly.
Last time at the Egg - Packed Rice's dining hall, she had only described William as someone she liked. How long had it been since she said she loved him?
The weather was very hot at this point.
The big bean sized rain suddenly came down noisily, instantly soaking the two of them in water.
"Patrick, I'm sorry."
His dumbfounded look made Alice feel even more guilty, but she still resolutely pushed his hand away and turned around to walk back to her own car.
The raindrops hit her face, bit by bit. It was extremely painful.
Patrick stood behind her and said loudly, "Alice, if you leave today, we will break off all ties!"
Alice was stunned, she turned and looked at Patrick in the rain, "Patrick?"
She hadn't expected him to say such a thing.
"Alice, has my respect for you been reduced to indulgence?"
Patrick stood there as the rain washed his feminine face, as the wound on his wrist was drenched in the rain and faint drops of blood dripped down, "I know that the six years I lost my memories were not good for you, so I really wanted to make it up to you. Whatever you say and whatever you want to do, I never interfere with it, but I never thought that you would leave one day like this."
"Do you know how afraid I was that you would fall in love with William? From the initial test of everything, to the moment you left the amusement park, I have been living in the midst of guesses." "When you took off the ring on the Sky Bridge, do you know how happy I was? I thought you had put William down."
"So I told you to go, I told you to go through some time alone, but I did not let you fall in love with William!" Speaking to the end, Patrick was a little hoarse, completely unlike his usual gentleness. "Why? You promised to come find me first, did you forget?"
"Why did you make what I feared the most happen?" Patrick looked at her with watery eyes, distinguishing between tears and rain.
Why did you let what I feared happen?
Alice felt her heart ache as she heard this. This was not only something he was afraid of the most, falling in love with William had also always been something she was most afraid of.
But it happened.
There was nothing she could do.
"..."Alice didn't know what to say. She stood there silently as tears silently flowed down her cheeks.
Seeing that she was no longer determined, Patrick took a few steps forward and stood in front of her, almost begging her with his black eyes, "Ever since I recovered my memories, I have only believed in you. You are the only bright one left in my world."
The next second, he pulled her into his arms and held her tight.
After awakening from the false memories, he was surrounded by his parents, who only cared about Miller Group, and his sister, who only wanted to fight for power. Mary gave him the medicine and wanted to control him.
Only she, the girl who had lifted him from the snow, was the only clean color in his world.
The only thing he could pursue was her.
So he walked up to her cautiously, step by step, but in the end, she still had to leave him, so determined.
Alice listened to him in a daze.
"I can't do without you. Alice, consider it as me begging, it doesn't matter if you don't love me now, but I beg you, please don't leave me. If even you leave, I don't know what will remain in my world. " Patrick hugged her tightly, unwilling to let go. Hearing his words, Alice suddenly felt afraid.
She had never thought that she would have such an important existence for Patrick.
"Patrick, don't be like this, I'm not that good." He frightened her.
He said she was his lifeline.
He actually begged her. Even when he was in the family, he was noble and had the bearing of a young master.
He was begging her now.
"I know."Patrick held her tightly in the rain, "Shall we start again? Alice, let's start afresh and return to ouroriginal time."
Alice wanted to push him away, but she was hugged tightly by him.
Her hand dropped slowly. "Patrick, I can't go back."
So sad.
How could she not know of the gentleness and kindness Patrick showed her? If possible, she would choose him as well.
"You can go back as long as you don't see William." Patrick carried her, "You still care about me. Otherwise, you wouldn't have rushed back when I signed the contract.
"Alice!"
"You care about me, Alice, follow me. If we leave this place, everything will start anew." Patrick let her go and used both hands to hold her face. He looked at her lovingly, "You forgot, we said that we were going to have a family together."
"We are the same kind of people, it doesn't matter if the whole world doesn't want us. We just have each other, don't we? Don't you always want a home? We'll register it, we'll get married, we'll build a home of our own. "Okay, okay?" Build a home of your own.
That had been her dream all along, but she had never had a home of her own. Patrick held her face and looked at her in anticipation.
The rain hit her hard.
Alice moved her lips, looking at Patrick in front of her, and she spoke out with great difficulty, "Patrick, I have already fallen in love with him. Even if I don't see him, even if I'm not with him, it's impossible for my heart to contain another man, do you understand?"
As she said this, warm tears welled up in her eyes.
"It doesn't matter, as long as you are with me." Patrick's currently feminine face revealed a crazy stubbornness.
"It's not fair to you or to me." she said.
"I don't want fairness!"
Patrick said loudly, looking at her stubbornly.
"But I don't want to hurt you, and I don't want to disturb you." Alice said, slowly reaching out to push his hand, and opened the car door.
Patrick stood there, watching her figure.
Why was it useless for him to say so much?
Why was it useless even if he begged her?
"Aren't you hurting me like this?" Fortunately, he was covered up by the rain. He didn't even wipe his face as he said self-deprecatingly, "If I had known this would happen, I would have let Mary turn me into a fool!"
He found his memory, but he couldn't find her.
Hearing that, Alice's body that was about to get in the car stiffened.
Was she being too harsh to Patrick? What could she do? Who could teach her what to do?
The screen of the phone that she had placed on the seat suddenly lit up. It displayed the news of the accident as well as a voice message.
It came from William.
Alice was startled and immediately placed the phone by her ear. Then, she heard William's gloomy voice sound out by her ear:
"Alice, even if you really want to throw me away like a pile of trash, you should at least give me an explanation! I want you to tell me yourself that you did not love me!"
Did he think that she treated him like a pile of trash?
Alice picked up the phone and heard Daniel's anxious voice, "Miss Clyne, where are you? Come to the Heaven Bridge quickly, young master is in trouble."
Hearing that, Alice nervously asked, "How is William? "Are you hurt?"
It really was William.
"I don't know, and I just arrived at the scene too. The accident is still being handled, the rain is too heavy, and I couldn't even find the young master's shadow, and the car is already damaged." Daniel's urgent voice sounded, "It's all my fault, and I shouldn't have helped you. Otherwise, Young Master wouldn't have come out here alone to find you."
Alice listened in a daze. Did something happen to William because of her?
"I'll be right there!"
Alice said as she threw the phone in the car. Just as she was about to get in, she suddenly realized him standing there stiffly, looking at the person in the rain. Alice stood there, a mocking smile in his eyes as he stood there in the rain, watching her.
"Patrick, I'm sorry. I can't bear your feelings." Alice looked at him guiltily, and slowly said something that hurt him, and then got into the car.
"Since you can't afford it, why did you spend six years trying to recall my memories? Why can't you afford it after I recover my memories?" Patrick looked at her, his face completely pale. "I didn't lose to you for six years, but I lost to you, William."
It was because he wasn't strong enough, because he didn't have the ability as William, that she chose William.
He wasn't losing because of the passage of time, or losing out because of his feelings.
He lost to William.
If there was no William, she would be his.
Alice looked at him, biting her lips in sadness, "I don't know what to say."
At that moment, she really didn't know what to say. She said that being sorry was a hurt, and said that it would even hurt him. She didn't know how to face Patrick.
"Don't say anything." Patrick stood in the rain, his entire body drenched, "I just want you to know that when you leave my sight today, it's a farewell between us." "Don't do this!"
What was a farewell?
Old friends?
"You can make your choice now. I will respect your choice one last time." Patrick looked at her and said, his voice almost hoarse.
Alice looked at his face which was turning paler in the rain. Her long eyelashes trembled slightly, and the hand she pressed on the door of the carriage was hit by the rain heavily.
Time seemed to have frozen in that instant.
"I'm sorry, I'm really sorry."
Alice heard her trembling voice, and then, without hesitation, she got into the car and turned the car around to leave.
In the rearview mirror, Patrick was still standing in the rain, his body skinny and weak.
Alice bit her lips, bit hard on her teeth, and cruelly drove away.
Since she had already fallen in love with William, any hesitation she had towards him would only hurt him.
Patrick stood alone in the middle of the road, allowing the rain to wash his body. He looked at the car that left his sight without hesitation, and slowly closed his eyes.
