âWant me to kill him too?â The hooded figure asked Anthony, without looking over at me, simply nodding his head in my general direction. Given the blase edge to this strangerâs tone and the boredom written across his features, I got the distinct feeling he was serious.
âHow much extra?â Anthony asked, his tone so severe I felt my jaw fall open; I wanted to look at my Beta and ask what the fuck, but the truth was I was too scared to look away from the demonic freak in case he acted on those unnatural impulses and slit my throat or some shit! Not like anyone would find me in this dark corner!
âI dunno.. a gold medal?â He grinned so slyly that I almost knew he was enjoying my discomfort. His sarcasm and reference were not lost on Anthony or me; at least, I assumed so, given the chuckle that left my Betas lips. A pit formed in my stomach that made me squirm a little. Is this how I made Lottie feel?
âNoted, I will let you know!â Anthony snorted.
âFucking try it! I dare ya!â I seethed at Anthony, trying desperately to hide the fear I felt seeping into my bones as the demonic force approached and blocked my path. Not that my threat had any impact on my soonâtoâbe fatherâinâlaw; his âattention wasnât truly on me or the demon in front of us; he couldnât seem to pull his 17 13:09 Mon, 18 Mar G G .

âScratch that; I will do it for free.â The hooded male snorted, finally turning to look at me, his eyes flashing the deep red that again reminded me of the pits of hell; something eerie exuded from his very being; corruption and chaos would be my guess. The feeling was so strong that I felt myself stepping away in case that shit infected me too.
âMe?â I laughed, trying to hold my own still. âI am his partner!â
âAh, so are you who is paying me then?â He laughed, his eyes moving over me with interest.
âNo!â I grunted. That would be him!â I explained, nodding to Anthony, who was still watching the door, something unreadable on his face that had me more anxious than this freak did.
âBut you are partners.â He smiled slowly, his clear dislike of me making my blood run cold.
look.
âHe isnât my partner; he is my daughterâs ex.â Anthony waved me off without a éæ°:54%ç 13:09 Mon, 18 Mar G G Chapter 81 Astaroth âFiance!â I corrected Anthony angrily; if Kane was dead and Knox was an outcast, that left Lottie available again, and all fucking mine!
âThat would be the blonde!â The demon grinned, licking his lips. âSheâs hot! A nervous little thing! I bet she would make a good addition to my..â
âShe is spoken for Astaroth!â Anthony announced his attention finally on the fucking lunatic beside us.
âThey always are!â He shrugged, holding his hand out to Anthony. Amusement is playing on his lips.
I watched the two of them interact and realised that under any other circumstances, I wouldnât give him a second glance, noting that there was nothing memorable about him; his clothes didnât scream money, his hair didnât scream luxury, and his ora was rather⦠forgettable.
âIf I stood out, I wouldnât be the best at what I do!â He laughed, turning to look at me, his eyes glimmering with the same amusement he wore on his lips.
âYou read my thoughts?â I asked, narrowing my eyes on the creep.
âYes, a perk of my trade! Although, some, like you, I can read more easily.â He grinned a tooth smile that had my toes curling with rage.
âReally, why?â I asked, knowing I would regret asking the second a deep |||

âBecause they are usually the weaklings in the group!â He winked nastily.
âNow is someone going to pay me or..â He closed his eyes as the doors opened from behind us, and Lilly rushed out screaming for help, saying that her mate was hurt⦠hurt.. not dead! Wideâeyed and confused, I watched as Sebestainâs men rushed after her, darting into the hall in a panic.
âI thought you took care of it?â I asked, scoffing at the scene before me.
âI did.â He smiled at me, sending a cold chill down my back.
âClearly!â I barked, despite my better judgement, at me to shut my mouth. Turning to the door, he smirked, seeing Lottie storm out of it, that beautiful dress that had everyone rendered speechless earlier coated in blood and not all of it hers. I watched her push through the crowd, looking for someone.
âSo.. are you paying me, Attewood, or am I asking your daughter for the ayment?â The demon I knew to be called Astaroth asked, without remorse, as he turned to look over his shoulder at Lottie, who was visibly getting angrier with each passing second.
âAre you sure she is spoken for?â He asked plainly.
Mon, 18 Mar Chapter 81: Astaroth âYES!â I snarled, stepping closer possessively. âJust because you cleared the debt, donât change shit! She is my prize! I get her! Do you hear me, demon filth? | will find a way to destroy you if you so much as touch her.â
âYouâre so cute when youâre angry!â He laughed, tapping my nose with his long, pale finger.
âUnbunch your panties, unlike you, I donât take before it is offered.â
âYouâre a demon like I will believe that!â I started with a snarl as I watched his eyes follow my soonâtoâbe wife!
âI donât care what you believe.â He laughed, clearly bored again.
âJust take your fee and leave!â Anthony sighed as the sounds of murmurs and gossip filtered through the room.
âNo! Alpha is dead!â
âAlpha is gone!â
âI can see him; he is dead.. did you hear!â
O Chapter 81: Astaroth.
âKnox killed him!â
âHis own son, waisted him!â
Turning slowly from the crowds to Anthony, my eyes wide in horror. Everything slipped into place with startling clarity.
âYou got this freak to kill our Alpha?â I blurted out, no longer caring for those listening to us.
âFor fuck sake, lower your voice!â Swallowing the lump that had formed in my throat only to find it right back there as the absolute carnage replayed in my mind. Alpha and Sebastian had been fighting someone. Looking up at the demon to see his eyes watching me. Nodding at me, he laughed.
âNot the sharpest tool in the box, is he?â He scoffed, to which Anthonyâs brows raised, and a nod passed between them.
âYour new Luna is heading this way; I suggest you pay me before she gets here, Attwood.â With a deep sigh, a velvet purse was dropped into the demonâs hand, only to vanish from his hand in a puff of red smoke.
âLeave!â Lottie snapped as she approached, her eyes darting to our âfriendâ dismissively.
Chapter 81: Astaroth âExcuse me?â The smirk on his lips could only be described as pure evil. Although, watching him, I noted how his eyes had changed from the insanely vibrant red to an utterly unimpressive, forgettable grey.
âLottie,â I warned, stepping into her, my fingers finding her elbow ready to pull her away from the monster she unknowingly faced.. and insulted.
