âYes. Donât laugh!â I glared at him, ignoring the weird light in his eyes. What could he do to me, anyway?
Tom covered his mouth, trying to muffle his laughter. âOkay...â He said, but I could hear the mocking tone behind his sentence.
I huffed and walked pass through him and he followed me closely behind, ignoring the chilling it gave me when I passed through him. We didnât talk for a couple of minutes. To tell the truth, I was still upset with him. I didnât know that he could be this mischievous.
Well, I knew now.
âHeeh, this is how it looks like out here. Itâs been a long time.â Tom said. He was looking around him, reminiscing about something.
âWhere have you been in two years exactly? Donât tell me you just stay in that room.â
To my surprise, he nodded. âI miss this place.â
.....
âDid you go to this campus?â I asked and he nodded again.
I was speechless when I heard that he attended the same campus as I was. I didnât know ghost could remember their past. Wasnât in the movie they told that after a person died, she or he would forget about her or his life during their life? Tom was truly a weird ghost who remembered where he studied.
âAh, I remember now!â He shouted suddenly. His face showed his happiness.
âRemember what? You look so happy about it.â Asking him casually, I seriously didnât think he would remember anything beneficial.
Tom grinned. âOf course. I couldnât remember anything about my life for the past two years. The only thing I remember is where I live and my name.â Oh, so my previous speculation about he remembered his life was wrong? My bad.
âWhat about now?â
âNow, I remember a little bit.â
I laughed. âMy, My. Youâre a ghost. What are you trying to remember your life for? Youâre dead.â I stated to him.
âWho said Iâm dead?â Tom said hastily. He glared at me.
âLook. Youâre a ghost. So, it means youâre dead. D-e-a-d. Got it?â I glared back at him and stated that as a matter of fact.
âNo. Iâm not dead yet. Iâm â not â dead.â He said hastily, stressing every word he said while still glaring at me.
âWhatever. Youâre dead or not, youâre still a ghost. G-h-o-s-t. Ghost.â He was so weird. Was it what they called a denial?
I saw him glaring at me, obviously not happy with my conclusion. Suddenly I had a bad feeling about him. He might want to do something to me.
âOkay, okay. Iâm sorry.â I said hastily. âDonât be angry, please. I have no intention to hurt you.â I rubbed his translucent cheek gently as I smiled softly. âCome on.â
Tom followed me again, but this time, he walked besides me. The air seemed heavy. Was he still angry to me?
âAh yes, which faculty were you in?â I tried to lure him into a conversation.
âEmm... Engineering Faculty, Department of Architect.â He answered proudly.
âOh, then, have you graduated from it?â I asked even though I knew it was such a ridiculous question.
âI have, if I remember it correctly.â Tom answered, this time was not as proud as he sounded before. âWhat about you? What faculty?â He glanced at me.
âEngineering, but I take civil engineering.â I answered carefully.
âHuh?! Youâre my junior, then.â He said happily. âWhat about the initiation?â
Shaking my head, I replied. âNot yet. Tomorrow is the welcoming initiationâ
âOh. Then, why do you come to campus?â He eyed me cautiously.
Why did he need to ask about everything?
âMe? I was asked by Senior Rizal to come.â
âHuh?! Whatâs for? Who is he anyway?â Tom frowned and eyed me suspiciously.
âSenior Rizal is the leader of Student Council. I donât know why he asked me to come.â I shrugged.
âRizal? His name is Rizal Ali?â Tom looked at me all of sudden.
I nodded. This time, I was the one who got surprised by him. âHow do you know?â I stared at him and he laughed -maybe because of my expression.
