Chapter 253

253 Enjoy Your Watch

(Tom’s PoV)

It was just a fleeting moment, but I was sure with what I was seeing. The message from his eyes was clear.

“So you’re here, huh?”

After that, he looked away and stared at his people one by one. What a great leader he was!

So, what was this celebration for? Something so big that it could affect the human realm, obviously it wouldn’t be a simple one.

“Welcome to our annual festival. It’s a joyful occasion where we can celebrate the upcoming of Harvest Moon that will be transpiring in any minutes from now. Any females who are willing to participate in this celebration may stand before the stage to receive a charm that will protect you from anyone or any creatures who wish to disturb the celebration.” The King said with a smile.

A charm? What kind of celebration needed a charm to avoid any disturbance? More importantly, it was given to any females that would partake in the celebration. My initial thought that there would only be some females wanted to join, but I was obviously so wrong.

As soon as the King finished saying his piece of mind, I saw many of females moved forward and stood in front of the stage obediently. They looked up excitedly and their whole bodies emitted some kind of different aura.

“Some of my girls are willing to partake in this celebration as well.” The King smiled at the women behind him and some of them stepped down from the stage and joined the females.

In a second, the number of females partaking in the celebration had increased and it triggered the males to let out their celebratory shouts.

I felt like I was in a primitive village deep in the jungle, far from the bustling cities. They didn’t eat humans, right?

As I was deep in my own thoughts, the King had given the so-called-charm in a shape of a pendant. The women put it around their neck in instant after they showed their gratitude towards the King.

I snapped back and found out that the King was looking up at the sky. It was silent for a good few minutes. Then, he smiled again.

“It’s time. You know the rules. Go.” He said softly and the males shouted excitedly. The females ran deeper into the forest as they heard the King’s sign to start. They didn’t look like they were threatened, or scared, but they weren’t slow either.

I guessed it was like a hunting game, but for whatever reason it was, I still thought there was something to this event.

The females had gone for a few moment when the King told the males, “You may depart now. May you get the best.”

With those words, all the males departed in a flash. I was stunned seeing them disappearing like that. It was like they were fleeing away from something terrible horrifying, yet their shouts sounded like animal in heat in my ears.

“Human, why don’t you come up here?” The King beckoned to me as I was the only one who stayed in the deserted place.

I looked at him warily, didn’t know whether I should just come up or not. Even though I knew I was strong enough to defeat any astral beings, this creature in a shape of a handsome man in front of me didn’t have any bad intention to me. It was difficult for me to decide the best precautions steps to anticipate anything from him.

“You’re a guest here. It’s been a long time since the last time we have a human guest. We don’t attack human guest. Don’t worry.” He assured me, but it was hard to be convinced when he had a cunning look in his face.

“You can watch the Harvest from here.” He pointed at a huge tree near the stage and something stirred in it.

It was the mystic projection, how cool was that? I had heard about it before but I had never had a chance to witness it, until I met this King.

Humans had LCD and all sorts of technology to create a projection, but this creature here only pointed his finger and the big trunk of the tree became a big projection.

I stepped forward and climbed the tall stage. Even though the projection was big, the best seat was indeed from the top of the stage. He had even arranged a comfy chair for me to sit on and to watch the event.

I sat on it warily, but the King went to the huge bed with drapes. The rest of the women that didn’t join the event followed him.

“Just watch comfortably. I need to enjoy the celebration as well. After all, my women have been waiting for me.” He said with a mischievous grin.

What did he mean by that? I looked away from him, feeling that it might not appropriate for me to watch what he meant by that.

The projection in the tree showed some people were running in various directions. The males were hastily chasing after the females, but what was it for?

“Say, human, who brought you here? My clan is the type to hide deeper than anyone else. We don’t like any contact with humans because of our traditions which might scare humans away. But, we don’t particularly hate humans as well. We will welcome them if they wander to far into our territory, but we will not invite any humans inside. It is a very rare case where human get lost and find us, but in your case, I don’t think you are lost. Which means, you are here because someone has sent you here.” The King said calmly.

I frowned. “My Advisor sent me here.” I said truthfully. Even if I were to say Siji’s name, I doubted it would make any difference. If humans couldn’t get here casually and they didn’t invite humans casually either, it could only mean one thing; a stronger race than them could walk in and even send someone here.

There was no doubt Siji was stronger than this King.

“Your Advisor? May I know who that is?” He sounded wary with my answer.

“Advisor of White Army. Siji.” I turned my head and looked at him in the eyes calmly.

His pupil contracted and his body went stiff for a good second, but then he quickly regained himself. “No wonder. No wonder you can come in easily. That man sent you here, after all. But, here’s the next questions. For what reason? You said that he was your advisor. Are you the new master? I didn’t see that you had that qualification in you when we last met.”

“When we last met?” I repeated his words with a frown on my face.

“Ah, I did tell you that you were going to forget about me, huh? Those two women I got from you are still here.” He waved his hand and two tall women stepped forward from the flock of women around him. They still had the veil on their faces, so I couldn’t really tell who they were.

“They hold out so long, I like them. They are good harvest.” He nodded his head in satisfaction. “Taking them away from you at that time was really a good decision. As expected, their lust is overwhelming that they’re still alive until now.”

The frown on my face was getting deeper. What was he talking about?

“Anyway, enjoy your watch.” He gestured for me towards the big projection.

Since I had no idea about what was going on, I turned my head and faced the big screen intently. There was still some chasing happen there.

“Ah, they always try so hard to find a good place. Let’s find others who have started their harvest.” The King’s voice travelled through my ears and after he said so, the scene in the projection changed quickly, as if someone was flicking the remote to find a good one.

It took him just a couple of seconds before he finally found the one he was looking for. The scene on the projection changed and I finally realized what this harvest event means and why he talked about ‘lust’.
