“So, why have you become like this now?” Li Yue sat down, her expression calm as she looked at Han ShuYi.

Faced with Li Yue's change in demeanor, Han ShuYi was visibly uncomfortable.

After all, in the past, whenever Li Yue saw him, she would always appear timid, not daring to raise her voice.

But over the past while, Han ShuYi had no idea what she had experienced—her attitude toward him had clearly shifted.

“Then what exactly did you do? Why don’t you even dare return home now? I don’t believe Han LiTian is someone who can’t distinguish right from wrong,” Li Yue said, her reasoning clear.

After all, the only reason she could stay here now was because of Han LiTian.

Normally, as a minor, she wouldn’t have been able to rent a place, but Han LiTian had vouched for her and even paid a year’s rent upfront. That’s how she ended up living here and finding a job.

Faced with Han ShuYi’s furious outburst, Li Yue remained unfazed.

Instead, she found it laughable. The once poised and composed “future heir of the Han family” now looked like a madman, roaring in front of her.

Li Yue couldn’t help but laugh out loud.

Hearing her laugh, Han ShuYi froze, his crazed expression stiffening on his face.

He stared at Li Yue in astonishment, not understanding why she was laughing.

Given how miserable he was now, wasn’t she supposed to sympathize with him?

“Why are you laughing?”

“Me? laughing? Sorry, you must have seen something wrong.” Li Yue shook her head, her mood shifting as quickly as it came.

“Li Yue, do you not believe me either?”

“Han ShuYi, why should I believe you?”

Li Yue’s response was sharp. Her brows furrowed as she looked at Han ShuYi with a serious expression.

“I…”

“What? Back then, in school, I listened to everything you said. And in the end, what did I get? Your answer? This place? This situation I’m in now? Han ShuYi, do you think I’m still the same Li Yue as before?”

He stared blankly at the girl in front of him, at her unwavering gaze.

In just a few short months, everything had changed.

HuMing was no longer the same HuMing. Li Yue was no longer the same Li Yue. Nothing around him was how he had imagined it to be.

Li Yue looked at the dazed Han ShuYi, and for a moment, her memory flashed back to the time before she and HuMing had fallen out.

Back then, she hadn’t chosen to listen to HuMing’s words either…
