Chapter 35

Chaeyoung slumps on the sofa in Jeongyeon's office. She look boredly at the two girls who's happily chit chatting about random things. It's been a week and four days since Mina left the condo. She missed the girl's presence even though they call each other everyday. Mina might be cold and silent but there is comfort every time she's with the girl.

"Someone is bored here." Jeong commented and looked at her teasingly. For the past week, the three of them are always together. Akira, her and Jeongyeon. From those days, she managed to tell them her feelings towards the former bodyguard.

"Bored? or she's missing someone?" Akira teased her with a known look.

"Tch. I am not the only one who's missing someone here." She smirked towards her unnie. AKira formed an 'o' and looked at the taller girl.

"I have the very right to miss her. She's my girlfriend and besides we update each other through sms. Unlike someone there." She teased back. Chaeyoung huffs and frowns.

"Mina is busy it's not like I can disturb her." She reasoned.

"Busy? Is she?" Akira joined to tease her too.

"Ugh why are you two bullying me?" She pouted.

"Well it's funny how you defend yourself and her." Jeong laughed. Akira nodded in agreement.

"Don't worry you'll meet her soon and invite me too. It's been a long time." She lied. They actually met before because  of the alliance. Mina is hostile to her, clearly giving the impression that she is not welcome. Although she didn't know that Akira's part time is Chaeyoung's assistant slash secret bodyguard. Ahh it's fun~ I want to see her reaction.

"Sure. I'll tell you when she come home." Chaeng smiled. Akira thumbs up to her which made the girl chuckle.

"But before that we need to focus on our work. How was the music you two are working on?" Jeong changed the topic and eyed the two girls.

"So far, so good, we already have six songs in hand now. Akira suits the job." She praised her friend who also smiled proudly to herself.

"Of course I am." She smirked.

"Hmm that's good, we have our trainees too. So far there are two talented girls who stands out." Jeong crossed her arms.

"I heard about that from the other trainers. If I remember correctly, It's Lisa and Jennie?" She asked to the president. Jeong nodded as an answer.

"So how many members do you want?" -Aki.

"I'm planning for four."

"Well considering the talents we have I think that's enough." Chae agreed. Akira decided to change the topic. They always talked about work for the past weeks it's making her dizzy. She's not trained to do this kind of job.

"After work what should we eat?"

"Aigoo our Aki is thinking about foods again?" Chae teased.

"Food is enough for me to think about."

"That's Aki for you." Jeong joined and shrug to her cousin. Chae let out a sigh and decided to suggest a good place to eat.

...

"Hey Jisoo unnie." The kid reached for the woman's hand.

"Yes milady?" Jisoo lowered her gaze to the child.

"Why do father wanted to kill her? She didn't do anything to him right?" The innocent orbs stared at her deeply waiting for a reply.

"She is close to your sister Mina and in order to make her suffer you must kill that woman." She pointed at the person who's happily talking to the other two girls far away from them.

"The other Mina is my sister?" She asked again. Jisoo paused and thought for a moment. Is it okay to tell the little miss that she is her sister?

"You can tell me everything Jisoo unnie I won't tell father." The child smiled. Her eyes glowing purple. I forgot she can read my mind.

"Hmm well genetically yes. You both have the same father but the difference is that you are born in a machine. The thing is you have the duplicate of her genes. I don't like calling you a clone so I would rather choose to call you as her twin? or something but is a lot younger than her." Jisoo tried to explain. This little Mina is smart. She can understand things quickly and can even take one or two together just by observation.

"Then why do father name me Mina? I don't like it." She pouted.

"The professor said he only need you as a daughter and his daughter's name is Mina. For you to take that place you must replace her." The older woman is starting to get anxious from the questions coming from the small girl.

"Why can't he have two?" She blinked. Ugh I don't know that myself.

"I don't know milady." She answered, honestly. The little kid nodded in response. She's only ten years old but her comprehension with things is good enough for a college graduate itself. She's a genius made by geniuses so nothing to be surprised.

"Then Jisoo unnie." She called again.

"Yes milady."

"How do you want me to kill her?" She asked. Her eyes flickers with killing intent. Those eyes that could make everyone tremble except for her and the professor. Jisoo is a normal human and she has been working in the organization for seven years now. She don't know how but this child in front of her became dependent and trusted her with everything. That is one of the reason why the professor won't let her quit.

Flash back

After accidentally knowing the dark side of the organization, Jisoo tried to escape. She tried to leave the place before they would notice her. It was that night that she first met the toddler. Jisoo stopped on her tracks. She felt sorry for the baby to be experimented like a lab rat.

"How cruel." She whispered to herself and cried. It's so heartbreaking to see the small life being imprisoned on that glass room. She wanted to set her free and so she did something stupid. She tried to open the door, making a loud siren to alarm the guards.She hurried to the child's side and took her in her arms. She tried to ran and escape but it was too late. The place is too big and the guards is already encircling her and the baby.

"Miss Kim, what do you think you are doing?" A man in a lab gown came to the scene. He's the leader of mad people.

"How could you do this to a child sensei?!" She spat.

"What? Can't I do something to my child now?" He laughed. That made Jisoo even more angry.

"It was your child and you dare to-"

"Shut her up." He commanded. One of the guards pulled out a gun and pointed it on her. Jisoo closed her eyes and hug the baby in her arms protectively. She waited for the bullet to come but there wasn't. After seconds of waiting, she finally opened her eyes and saw many bullets floating in the air just inches away from her.

She looked down on the child and the toddler has her eyes glowing in purple. The bullets returned back to the ones who shoot it. Killing them in the head. A thundering laughed came to the dark moonless night.

"As expected for my child!" He said in glee.

"What the-" Before she could finish her words, she noticed how the kid clung to her.

"My child likes you it seems like I can't kill you that easily."

End Of Flashback.

In the end she became her guardian, the only person in that place to treat her as a family. Jisoo became obligated for the child. She knew she doesn't have to but being with her through those years made her feel protective to her too. Every time she saw the child kills, a growing worry sprung into her heart. She's scared that someday the child will be a merciless monster. She knew that's what the professor wants but she don't like it.

"You can do what you want to her milady." she smiled and brushed the smooth hair of the child.

"Hmm I have another question unnie." Ugh she's full of curiosity today.

"What?"

"If you would be the one to name me what would you want?"

Jisoo thought for a moment. She brought her point finger on her chin. A hobby when she's in deep thinking about something.

"Well you look like a princess so something like Hime will suit you." She answered.

"Then unnie you can call me Hime." She beamed.

"But milady, your father-"

"Unnie~ father is someone who only uses me as his weapon and replacement. You are my family so you can call me whatever you like and Hime is a good name." She smiled and cheerfully clung to the older woman. Jisoo was stunned. To think that the child itself understood her situation is amazing enough. Well, In age she might be only ten years old but her growth is fast itself. She looked like a teenager but Jisoo is still taller in inches. She let out a sigh and smiled.

"Okay Hime when are you planning on killing her?"

"The day is clear so tonight is a good time"

"Very well. I'll be preparing for everything."

"Hmm but don't come near to me. I don't want you hurt." She pouted. How cute. (Just imagine a small Mina)

"Okay fine"

The night gets deeper and deeper and the sky doesn't have any stars. It was moonless and even looking like it's going to rain. The three friends are walking on their way home since they decided to stay the night on Jeong's house. They will be drinking beer since tomorrow will be sunday and no work.

"Will this be enough?" Aki asked looking at the plastic of beers in her hand.

"I still have some in the fridge." Jeong chirped.

"This is unfair I'm a lightweight." Chae deadpan. They have already gone out to drink some days ago and it ends up with the two carrying her back home.

"Not our fault though" Akira shrugged.

" Still you should cons-"

Her words was stopped by the sudden vibration coming from her phone. She fished out her phone and saw that it was a call from Mina. A smile creeps on her lips.

"Ohoho Jeongie I think I just saw someone smiling here." Akira teased after seeing her reaction.

"Omo is this love Aki?" Jeongyeon joined her act.

Chaeyoung glared at them for a moment but can't hid the smile that would magically stick up on her mouth. She walked away from the two girls to have some privacy.

"Hello Minari~" She answered.

"Are you busy or something?" Mina asked with her infamous cold tone but Chaeyoung found it attractive to hear.

"Ani. How was your day?" She smiled while fidgeting with her feet.

"It's okay. We just did some test and training. How about you?"

"The usual routine." She sighs.

"Hmm but why do you sound like you are bored?"

"It's not that I am bored. It was fun to be with them but you know I missed you." She answered honestly. Chaeyoung doesn't know where she got the courage to be so upfront. Maybe it was the woman's influence on her or the fact that she is confident that Mina wouldn't reject her like that.

"I'll be back soon, no need  to be a whiny cub." Mina answered. Chaeyoung pouted hearing her.

"Don't you miss me?" She asked in aegyo.

"Should I?"

"Of course!"

"Then want me to clear my schedule and come home tonight?"

Ugh she's really straight forward and shameless. This is so unfair for my heart!

"Ani gwenchana. The three of us will be drinking in Jeong unnie's house." She let out a sigh. On the other line, Mina remembered something from mentioning of drinking.

"Hmm again? who will you drink with?"

"Jeong unnie and Aki."

"Aki?"

"Hmm my new assistant and the friend that I talked about last week. Oh! right I forgot to tell you that I have a new assistant now." She smiled sheepishly.

"Chae." Mina's voice suddenly turns into a negative degree of coldness.

"y-yes?" She could feel the nervousness building up from the change of Mina's tone.

"The Aki that you meant... is it Akira?"

"Yes? hmm wae? now that I remember she told me to bring her along with us. She said it's been a long time since you met-"

"I'm coming."

"Eh? wait Minari- she ended the call." She stared weirdly at her phone.

What was that?

"Done?" Akira approached her. Chaeyoung nodded.

"Let's go?"

"Yeah" They started walking again towards Jeongyeon's house. Chaeyoung is still in her trance. She's confused why Mina suddenly acted like that. She sound like she heard a very bad information. Is it related to Aki?

She shook her head. Akira is not a threat and she is sure of that. In the middle of her thinking she saw a group of men cornering a kid who looks like in high school based on her uniform. She has her back on them so Chaeyoung can't see her face. The night is deep and the people around wasn't much in the area. It's a small park near Jeong's place.

"Hey look someone is being bullied." Jeong pointed at the group. Seems like it's not only her who noticed. Akira did not say anything and look at the direction.

"We should help her." Chae looked at her cousin in worry. Not for them but for the young girl.

"Should we call the police?" She asked. As they are approaching near the place...

"Let's stop them first-"

"No" Akira holds both their wrist. The two cousin's looked weirdly at their friend.

"Don't." She continued.

"Why? what are you saying-"

"Run."

"Aki-"

"I said run!"

I should have listened to her.
