Chapter 34

Chaeyoung stood in front of the wide sea. Smooth breeze brushing her face, flowing on her hair. The sky is dark and it looks like it is going to rain.

"Hey what are you doing here?" A kid who's the same height as her, patted her shoulder. Chaeyoung turned around to meet the curious eyes of the girl. She took out one of the ear piece to listen.

"The storm is coming. The professor said you should go home, we will leave now."

Hearing the girl's words Chaeyoung's eyes formed into tears. Along with it is the music playing on her right. A very familiar one.

"H-hey why are you crying?" The little girl panicked.

"You will take away Mina unnie with you." She cried. The other girl scratched her nape. She don't know what to say since she was right and they can't do anything about it.

"Uhm hey what are you listening?" She tried to change the subject. Chaeyoung's mind focused on her question.

"It's a song I wanted Mina to hear." She sniffs.

"Can I listen?"

Chaeyoung eyed her for a moment before finally nodding in agreement. Taking the free side, she handed it the girl. The said kid sat beside her and wears the ear piece. A certain melody played. It's in japanese and somehow the lyrics is so sad to hear.

"I want the future Chaeyoung to hear this too. Somehow I can get the picture of the future me." She sadly cried but this time she's crying silently.

"Will you be okay after hearing this?" The other girl asked. Chaeyoung wiped her tears.

"Hmm I think it will comfort me." She answered.

"Then I will hold onto this." The little kid took out the ear piece. Chae looked at her in confusion.

"When the time comes. I'll let you and Mina hear this. I promise." She let out her pinky finger. Chaeyoung seems to calmed down after hearing the girl.

"Really?"

"Yeah" She smiled widely. Chae managed to form a small smile too. She took her pinky finger to intertwine with the other girl.

"Then you can have this." The little Chaeyoung gave the girl her ipod.

"Will you really give this to me?!"

"Hmm Chaeyoung never break her promise too so don't break yours okay?" She smiled, showing her dimples.

"Okay. I _____ promise-"

Before the girl could finish her words the world suddenly turns to black. The scene changes into chaos. There are fire everywhere. The heat hurts her but in the middle of it all is a slight taller girl than her.

"Unnie" She called. Her glowing blue eyes reflected on her own.

"CHAE!" "NO DON'T"

A loud alarm wakes her up from a deep nightmare. Beads of sweat strolling down from her forehead. Her breathe labored and fast. A piercing ache came to her.

"Fuck." She muttered. Clutching her head, she desperately reached for the medicine beside her desk. After drinking the pill she let out a big sigh as if she just survived a life threatening moment.

"What did I dream again?" She asked herself. It's all blurry and she can't remember it but a certain song played her mind.

Why do I felt like I heard this song way before?

"Chae I'll be going." Mina knocked on the younger one's door. Hearing Mina's voice, she bolted up from her bed and ran to the door.

"Already?!" She opened the door and saw a quite surprised Mina.

"Yeah?"

Chaeyoung pouted.

"Okay call me everyday okay?"

"Why would I?" Mina asked with her blank face. She had no idea why the girl is being clingy.

"Because I'm worried about you? It's good to know that you are still alive." Chaeyoung joked. But it's actually half meant.

"I won't die." She deadpan. Chaeyoung chuckled on her reaction.

"Tch yeah you are the great assassin after all. Just call me okay? It makes up my day if I hear your voice before I sleep." She flirted and winked. Mina just tilted her head in confusion.

"Do friends flirt like this?" She asked.

"Ani." Chaeyoung answered immediately with a smile.

"Then?"

"Who says we will just be friends forever?"

"We won't?"

"Of course. I never planned to be in a friend zoned you know." Chae crossed her arms as if saying a matter of fact.

"O-kay?" Mina can't quite get her but she has the idea what the girl is meaning to say. She is still far for that or so she thought.

"Good that we are clear." Che patted Mina's shoulder with a proud smile now but Mina still has the same poker face.

"I'll get going then?"

"Yeah but before that give me a hug first." Chaeng opened her arms for the girl to come. Mina's brows furrowed.

"What for?"

"It'll be days before we meet again so a hug is needed." She grins and opened her arms wider.

"Err is that really needed?"

"Of course! I need something to hold on since you are leaving me for a while." She whined. "Or do you want a kiss instead?" A mischievous smile peeks through from her teasing mouth.

Mina stared at her for a moment before finally shaking her head in defeat. The girl won't budge on her position. Walking closer, Mina wrapped her arms around the smaller girl. Chaeyoung triumphantly smiled and wrapped her arms on Mina's waist.

"See it wasn't that bad." She whispered. Mina didn't say anything and just hug the girl. Somehow it makes her feel more contented. Her heart beating so fast making her remember she is still alive.

"Hmm call me immediately if something bad comes up okay?" She replied but her voice has a tin softness to it. The coldness is slowly melting because of the warmth.

"If you are still worried about that, I'll be okay. I promise that." Chaeyoung patted the back of the girl lightly to sooth her worries.

"Good. Then I should go. They're waiting outside." Mina was the first to let go.

"Okay take care." She waved the girl goodbye and lead her to the front door. Mina waved back without turning around and left.

"Now let's prepare for work."

Chayeoung walked out of the condominium with a plan to commute. She left her car into the repair shop yesterday after knowing that the engine was jammed. It's really suspicious how it happened though since she always has her car in maintenance.

"Have a good morning chingu?"

Chaeyoung flinched in surprise when Akira suddenly came behind her, covering her eyes.

"Aki what are you doing here?" She chuckled recognizing the voice.

"I live near. Didn't know you're just a block away." She let go of Chaeyoung and settled beside her.

"Really? that's good." She smiled.

"Yup so how do you know Mina?" Akira asked. She actually didn't live nearby, that's just an excuse. She's looking out for the girl and saw Mina coming out of the building.

The question made Chaeyoung frowned.

"You know Mina?"

"Yeah we're somehow related." She smiled not wanting for the girl to ask more about the two of them because she herself don't know what to say. Should she say enemies? Surely, that would make the girl shock.

"I see. Well, Mina is my former bodyguard and assistant. We live together." Chaeyoung answered. It's not really a confidential information so it might be okay to share.

"Really? you live together? are you somehow..." Aki gave her a known smile. Chaeyoung reddened from the assumption.

"No no no we are not in that kind of relationship. We're just friends." She denied. Akira just nodded but she knew already what their exact relationship is. Chaeyoung is the prey Mina is so obsessed with. This is getting interesting.

"So where are you going?" Chae changed the topic.

"To your company." She cheered.

"Why?"

"Oh did I forgot to tell you that I'll be applying as a music assistant producer?" She acted dumb and gasped.

"You are? really?" Chaeyoung was taken back too. Who would thought that the girl will be her next assistant. Thinking about it, it'll be fun working with her.

"Hmm Jeongie offered me the job since she said it's vacant at the moment." She shrugged.

"If it's you I don't mind." Chae beamed.

"Don't worry you can count on me." She winked. Just in time the bus came. "Let's go boss." She grins and drag Chaeyoung on her wrist.

The white room door opened, revealing the man in glassed and white coat. He walked towards the girl who's still hugging her knees since the day she was transferred.

"Hi" The man squatted in front of her. He has a gentle smile playing on his lips. The little girl looked up hearing him. She stared at him with a blank face.

"I'm Dr. Myoui, I am your father." He introduced himself.

"You are?" The little girl asked. She has that deep dark eyes that could bore holes in your soul.

"Yeah and your name is Mina" Dr. Myoui sat beside her.

"I'm Mina?" She asked again. The man nodded.

"But before that, you need to finish the first holder of that name." He smiled.

"Father wanted that?" She asked. He nodded. The little girl who has the same face of the child Mina paused for a minute to think.

"Will father be happy?" She asked innocently.

"Yeah because Mina will finally be my only daughter." He patted her head softly. The small kid nodded and smiled.

"Then Mina will exterminate her immediately." She answered. The man stood up and offered his hand to the girl to take.

"Come, we won't do that. First is that we need to make her suffer."

"Why?" She asked.

"Because that woman destroyed your father's life." He answered, his eyes reflects the madness.

"Who will Mina finish first?"

"It's a girl close to her."

"A girl?"

"Hmm a girl named Son Chaeyoung." He smirked.

Jihyo and Chaeyeon is in front of the door for ten minutes now. The younger woman is nervous to open it. Different thoughts came to her mind. How will she face her sister? Will she recognize her?

"Come on Chae" Jihyo patted her back.

"I'm nervous unnie." She bit her lips.

"Nah It'll be fine." She winked and opened the door for her. Seeing that the girl is still in a trace, Jihyo decided to go inside first. Entering the apartment, she saw the Chaeryeong and Yuna watching some movie on the living room. Yeji is cooking along with Ryujin and Lia.

"Unnie!" It was Yuna who noticed her first. All eyes immediately darted to her. Chaeyeon finally gained her courage and followed the older girl inside.

"Who is she unnie?" Ryujin asked. Clueless eyes staring at her companion. Jihyo looked at Chaeryeong's reaction. Her expression screams confusion and a mixed of surprised.

"S-she's my..." She trailed.

Chaeyeon finally saw her little sister for ten years of separation. An overwhelming emotions squirmed inside her. She can't help but to feel the sting in her eyes after finally seeing the only blood family she have.

"She's your what?" Yuna looked at the girl beside her.

"Unnie!" After finally absorbing everything and realizing who was the person in front of them Chaeryeong ran towards her sister and hug her tight. Chaeyeon managed to catch her even if her knees itself is getting weaker from her emotions.

"Unnie?!" Lia looked at Jihyo in surprised. Jihyo just nodded while smiling.

"She's Chaeyeon, Chaeryeong's older sister." She introduced.

"But h-how?"

"It's a long story." She let out a satisfied sigh. She approached the girls who pretty much looked surprised themselves.

"Hey who want some ice cream? Let's leave the sisters have their time okay?" The four girls just looked at her and nodded. They silently left the apartment with the two crying sister inside.

After this, everything will be hard. I just hoped the girls will survive... even when the time I'm gone comes.
