Chapter 29

The five of them meet up on the van. Tzuyu and Sana is already inside when the three girls arrived. Sana has this pissed written all over her face and Tzuyu is just there on the driver seat sitting silently.

"Hey what's up?" Nayeon eyed the two.

"Hi unnie come in we need to go on the next location." Tzuyu answered knowing that Sana isn't in the mood. The three entered the car. Mina still has her eyes in blue.

"Mina you can change it back now." Nayeon turned to her.

"Can't" She shortly replied. Nayeon was baffled to her answer and it seems like she won't be explaining it further. So she decided to look at the captain. Jihyo got the hint.

"When Mina uses her ability for long or too much, it will be hard for her to turn it back." Jihyo answered for her. Nayeon nodded, understanding the situation.

"Are you sure the other man will be there?" Mina broke the silence.

"It was given to me by Dahyun so yes. We can trust her." -Tzuyu.

"How can Dahyun do that?" Nayeon curiously asked again. Well no one can blame her for being lost. She is still pretty new to the group.

"It was programmed by her. A man made A.I. called Tofu. The system was built with Dahyun's knowledge and could practically substitute her for a while." Jihyo answered for her again.

"That's awesome.." She exclaimed.

"She is." This time it was Sana who answered, with a small tug on her lips. Nayeon smiled too seeing that the girl is really responsive when it comes to her lover. Somehow I miss my girlfriend too. Just then, Mina's phone rang. She emotionlessly fished it out from her pocket and looked at the caller. Chaeyoung. She stared at it for a minute, contemplating to answer or not. Letting out a sigh, she answered.

"What?" she coldly asked.

"Aw does my Minari miss me?" Chaeyoung used her aegyo voice again. Mina's brow instantly twitched from the tone.

"I told you not to use that." She deadpan.

"But Chaengie misses her friend." She continued. The whole atmosphere in the car drops down. Mina's aura is getting colder. The three in the back shared a look since Mina is seated in the front seat.

"Chaeyoung I'm going to end this call if you use that annoying voice one more time." She threatened. Jihyo, Nayeon and Sana gulped at how serious Mina is. They don't want a pissed Mina, It'll be a disaster.

"Tsk. Arasso." Chaeyoung gave up.

"Good."

The three in the back let out a sigh of relief. Tzuyu stayed oblivious since she is focused in driving them.

"How are you? Everything is fine?" Chaeng asked, getting into her soft and concerned voice.

"Hmm yeah. Why are you still awake? you usually sleep this time of night." She asked.

"Aw my friend really cares for me. She even knows the time I sleep." Chaeyoung get back into teasing the assassin.

"I'm ending the call-"

Chaeyoung laughed and decided to stop it.

"I just came back home. Jeong unnie and I did some arcades and we met new people." She started telling about her day. Mina silently listen to it. It's not like she have anything to do. Besides listening to girl makes her feel more calm. Somehow the predicament that happened just minutes ago are long forgotten.

"That woman we met is really energetic. A complete opposite of you Minari." Chaeng laughed when she said that. It's like the two is the contrast of night and day. Mina was aware of her lack of enthusiasm but she doesn't really care about it. She's just being herself and not actually faking anything. Still, there is something she can't quite understand when she heard the girl cheerfully talking about someone else. It's exasperating and dreadful to her ears.

"So what about it?"

"Nothing I just realized that despite your coldness, I would still prefer to have your company." Her tone soft and happy.

"and why is that?"

"Well before you told me the truth, I always hate it when you force yourself to smile. That is why I told you that you can loosen up to me because I can see the difference in your action from the concealed coldness in your eyes." She explained. Mina did not have an answer for that. Surprisingly, the girl can see through deep in her. Chaeyoung seems to understand the lack of response.

"You should rest now. It's late already Minari." she changed the topic.

"Yeah you too. Lock the door." She reminded. Chaeng chuckled.

"Yes mom. Goodnight Minari." She happily cooed.

"Hmm goodnight Chaeng." She answered with a cold one. Chaeyoung does not  expect something, as she was already happy that the girl could talk to her like that. Mina ended the call and put it back on her pocket.

She really took the friend card to use.

She didn't even notice that there is a small tug on her lips.

Silence. It was something new for the three of them. Specially, the short haired woman who usually are very impulsive. Chaeyeon is even confused why she look so lost in her thoughts. As much as she knows the girl, she rarely use her brain.

Akira might be a grown woman in appearance but this girl is concealed to such civilization since the age of eight. Her knowledge about the world is limited. Sometimes Chaeyeon would feel sorry for her since the girl was under her leadership for awhile now. She acted naughty and all excited over small things and about what she lost? simple, her freedom. An innocent? yes she is, but just like any of them, Aki has gone through cruelty too. Seeing that the woman is younger than her, she can't help but feel responsible as the older one. Even though the woman rarely listens to her. This girl is still a kid in heart even when she has a cruel ability.

Once she activated her ability, there would be hunger. That hunger is what drives them doing crazy things. Akira hates it when she gets dirty so she certainly hate bloody fights. Instead, she wanted a quick one. She loves to play around but surely she knows how strong her opponent will be. Against Mina, she knew she can fight her but she has her limit and Mina doesn't.

"Aki did you eat something wrong? why are you so silent?" She asked. Akira turned to her and stared for a moment before letting out a exasperation sigh.

"I just thought that I want to end this play. We clearly don't stood a chance on Mina unless that woman join the game. We're just pawns used by the organization for a quick test." She pouted while fidgeting with the stuffed toy in her hands.

"You know we are under their mercy." Chaeyeon gave her an apologetic smile. This is one of the rare instances that they would talk without insulting each other or gething on each other's throat.

"But Aki hates it. I like to play with Mina but-" she complained. Looking at the plushie and patting its head. "I want to continue make friends. Is it wrong?" She asked looking with her eyes full of want. Chaeyeon does not know what to answer about that. She seek help to the much older woman beside her who has been silently playing in her phone. Sakura seems to feel the stare as she look up to meet the seeking eyes. She was listening to them so she understand what she meant.

"daijoubu." She smiled. (no problem)

"What do you mean?" Chaeyeon asked. Akira mirrored the same question. Sakura put away her phone and focused on the two people waiting for her answer.

"I have been waiting to tell this to you guys. Before Dahyun and Aki clashed, me and Dubbu made a deal." She grins. Chaeyeon bolten up from her seat. Just what nonsense is she saying?!

"WHAT ARE YO-"

"Listen first." She gave Chaeyeon a stern look which effectively shut the girl. Sakura rarely talks to them like that.

"We traded information. The reason why they know where Hiro hides is because I leaked that information." The reaction of Chaeyeon is quite understandable. She look so agitated and angry while Aki just listened obediently but Sakura choose to ignore it. "In return she gave me a valuable information about Mina." Chaeyeon raised a brow.

"We all know why we choose to stay in organization for years now right?" She asked. Chaeyeon and Akira nodded in union.

"The vial that we need for our life, they have it too and that's what made Mina live for ten years." She revealed. Chaeyeon fell silent from the information. So that was it. The room was swallowed by silence. All of them are thinking of possibilities. This was their first mission without someone from the organization eyeing them. Sure if the chances are in their side, tables might turn.

"So what do you think?" Chae is calm now and asked Sakura for her plan. She's the one reliable on this things.

"Hmm guess It can't be helped since you two look interested. How about we go somewhere?"

Momo seated silently on Dahyun's side while reading a book. She has her glasses on and was so consume on the book that she didn't notice the move on Dahyun's hand. When Dahyun finally opened  her eyes, a blurry ceiling welcomed her. She adjusted her eyes from the in the room and let out a small groan. Momo heard it and stood up from her chair immediately.

"Dahyunie?" She asked, checking the girl.

"unnie" She called. Her voice is hoarse from not waking up in how many days.

"Hey you want some water?"

Dahyun slightly nodded. Momo reached for a glass of water and helped the girl to sat up. Dahyun finished the whole glass.

"Where is Sana unnie?" that was the first thing she asked after drinking the water.

"They are hunting the vessels down and it seems like they successfully killed one. Thanks to your A.I. for guiding us." She smiled in appreciation. Surely, Dahyun plays a big role in their group. She's like their eye in the city.

"I see." She nodded in understanding. Her energy is already replenished and she can finally move on her own. Unlike a normal person in a coma, Dahyun is a different case since they are not all humanly.

"Are they going on the next place?" She asked.

"Hmm yeah Jihyo updated me earlier. She said they're on their way. Why? something wrong?" Momo eyed the younger girl in curiosity.

"No. It's just right to kill those loyal dogs who wanted to kill Mina." She remembered the deal between her and Sakura. Dahyun knows those men are not suitable for recruitment. They will only raise havoc in the team. But that wasn't the problem now. The problem is how is she going to convince her unnies. The reality of their battle, she knows Akira don't have any plan in killing her. In truth, her motive was to bring her back. It was Dahyun who forced herself.

"Then why do you have that look?" Momo stared at her deeply in the eyes. It's as if the chemist is trying to read her but, just like the codes. Dahyun wasn't one to be easily deciphered.

"What look?" She played dumb.

"It's as if you know something we don't." Momo gave her a suspicious look.

"We all know something that other don't" She answered in a smile. By that, Momo understood her.

"I see. So it's a secret" She let out a sigh. Dahyun chuckled to her reaction.

"For now, until they finished the last man." She said with eyes full of resolute.

"Very well, this unnie is patient enough." Momo smiled.

"I'm hungry unnie." Dahyun changed the topic and rub her tummy with a pout. Momo laughed and eventually give up on the matter.

"I cooked. Let's go to the kitchen." She helped the girl to remove the IV's and made their way to the wide and spacious kitchen. Dahyun casually asked on what happened while she was asleep. Momo answered with her full knowledge.

I need to contact her after this.

Finally an update :) Since the next chapter is 30, I will finally introduce Tzuyu's involvement. How and why is a normal girl joined the team. We reached quite far already. I hope to see you guys till the end. Have a nice day~
