Chapter 27

(After Chaeyoung left Jihyo's office)

Jihyo let out a sigh after Chaeyoung closed the door. She massage her head from the ache that's starting to inflict in her head. Using her ability too much in a week will cause her pain.

"Unnie are you okay?" Tzuyu knocked on the door.

"Come in Tzuyu"

The door opened and Tzuyu entered her office with a worried expression. She approached the older woman and sat on the arm rest beside the girl.

"Your head hurts? Should I give you medicine?" She asked in concern. Jihyo chuckled and sliglty shake her head for a no.

"Then want me to massage it?" She asked again.

"No, it's okay Chewie. I can just rest it." Jihyo tried to stood up but she felt dizzy for doing so. Good thing that Tzuyu is by her side and managed to catch her.

"Unnie I told you not to overuse it." She scolded the older.

"I know but I need to do it." She answered. Tzuyu helped her unnie to sit on the much long couch. She sat on the other end and as if Jihyo knows what to do already, she laid her head on Tzuyu's lap. Closing her eyes, Jihyo hoped for the pain to go away sooner. The younger woman ran her fingers on the woman's locks.

"You did great unnie." She praised her. Jihyo smiled.

"I did?"

Tzuyu hums in reply.

"Yeah you managed to convince her too."

"It's hard. I know Chaeyoung wanted Mina to remember."

"Well she waited."

"That's why I feel like a jerk when I asked her that." She let out a sigh.

"You don't need to. You are doing it to prevent a greater disaster." She continued to play with her hair. Somehow it makes the older sleepy.

"But we know there are things that's bound to happen." She said and relaxed from the touch. She hums in reply.You are basically sacrificing yourself for everyone. It's too much.. and unfair.

"Now sleep and take much rest that you deserve." She softly said to the woman lying on her lap.

"Thank you Chewie." Jihyo said before finally drifting on dream land.

"We should be the one thanking you pabo." She whispered.

I'll be the one to protect you then.

When she decided to accept Jihyo's offer, Chaeyoung knows there would be desire she needs to give up. Therefore, she will only focus on her present friend and assassin Myoui Mina.

"Are you going to go somewhere?" She asked looking at the small packed bag on Mina's hand.

"Yeah. I'll be gone for days be sure to lock the door." Mina wears her mask.

"A mission?" Chaeyoung knew already but she wanted to ask the girl herself.

"It's bigger than that. I'll be hunting parasites." She said with a deadly cold tone.

Ugh scary.

"Okay be careful chingu." She handed her a key.

"What is this?" Mina raised a brow.

"A key?"

"What for?"

"For the door?"

Mina glared at her when she noticed the girl is not answering her in the manner she wanted.

"Okay It's for you. We are not the employee and the employer anymore nor the killer and the target. We are plain friends and roommates now so you can come anytime. Having your own key is better than calling me and getting back here. I have work too you know?" She answered while sipping her coffee.

"You trust me like that?" Mina is skeptical to the woman. She can't really understand her at all.

"Trust is the first thing you need in building friendship so yeah." She simply shrug and smiled. Mina stared at her for a good seconds before finally  replying back.

"Hmm call me if something bad comes up." She walked towards the door.

"Yeah I'll definitely call you Minari~"  She said in aegyo. Mina stopped in her tracks when she heard it.

"Don't you dare call me with that voice." She threatens before finally leaving the place. Chaeyoung chuckled from her reaction.

"So cute."

Mina and the rest of the girls gathered back on their secret place. Jihyo and Tzuyu came together with Nayeon. Dahyun is still in a deep sleep and it's already the third day. It can be compared to a coma but the thing is that she's just sleeping.

"Mina how's life?" Jihyo greeted her with the same mask in her face.

"Good I think. Are we going now?" She asked to the captain.

"Yeah and about Chaeyoung, your friend. I killed the man who ordered for her death." They are walking side by side going to the armory.

"I thought I still have to deal with him. I owe you one."

"Nah it's nothing the kids took care of it"

They arrived at the armory and saw the four girls inside. Momo is still in her lab coat since she won't be joining in the field work, Sana has her case ready, Nayeon is wearing her gloves that has steel wires coated at the back and Tzuyu well she's just there cleaning her gun. Their weapons are specially made for their abilities. Since Nayeon's quirk is force, she's given the glove and a pair of metal boots. Sana has a sniper gun, it doesn't have a scope since she doesn't need a scope for aiming. Tzuyu is in charge of the escape plan and Momo, well she is talking about the new chemical bullet she invented.

"So you are saying this will suppress their power?" Sana asked while looking at the bullet in her hand. It's a different kind of bullet. A diamond like bullet.

"Tzuyu and I come up with that. She handled the bullet work while I supply the chemical." Momo proudly smile.

"That will only be effective if we manage to penetrate the skin." Tzuyu added.

"Then it's useless if they transform?" Jihyo joined in the conversation. All four of them turns towards the two who just arrived.

"Yeah I still need to do some further research on the new bullet I am making. We need a sample of their blood." Momo let out a sigh. She can't proceed to it without knowing the components of their mutated blood and how they change. Momo have a guess that it is their blood.

"I'll get you some." Mina said in a cold manner making the atmosphere cold as well.

"Y-yeah thanks Mina-chan."

"Okay! Let's go, you drive Chewie." Jihyo throws the car key to Tzuyu.

"Okay captain" She smiled and walked out first.

"Wait! I'll come too." Sana sling her case where her sniper lies and ran to follow the girl.

"I'm done here. I'll go with them." Nayeon patted Jihyo's shoulder and goes out too. Momo handed Mina a black briefcase as well as Jihyo. Mina opened hers and checked the gun. A silver magnum revolver.

"Classic" Jihyo commented.

"Yeah It has the same bullet as Sana's and Tzuyu's. I know you don't need a gun to fight but just in case." Momo smiled.

"Thanks." Mina closed the briefcase again.

"Welcome please take care. I gave you each of a healer. Use it wisely." She reminded.

"Yes prof" Jihyo answered and patted her shoulder.

"See you."

Jeongyeon sat on the opposite chair from her cousin who invited her for a dinner. Nayeon is busy again. She said it's about Jihyo needing her help. The taller woman is not to suspect but they're being suspicious since the day she was release from the hospital. It's been a week since then and she's back managing the company with Chaeyoung. The other two has their assistants to substitute for them in the meantime.

"I heard Tzuyu is with them too." Chaeyoung said and sips on her drink.

"Tzuyu? Woah did they told you what business are they doing?" She asked.

"Hmm I heard it's a confidential one." She answered. Not technically a lie but she knew the truth. She just can't tell the girl because it's not her place to tell her.

"Confidential huh.. Are they involved with illegal things? Why can't we know?" Jeongyeon ranted. It's not like she don't understand but she can't help but feel left out.

"Well they'll tell us if it's okay but since they did not let's understand for now unnie." She offered her unnie a soft smile. Jeong let out a sigh.

"I know it's just frustrating not knowing what my fiance is doing." She huffs in annoyance. Chaeng laughed to her unnie's reaction.

"You're being a baby again unnie. Nayeon unnie and you have been together for what? years? this few days won't kill you." She deadpan. Jeong pouted. Her cousin is indeed right.

"Fine. Now let's talk about you. How are you and your unnie?" She asked, completely changing the topic.

"Oh I finally decided to let go my first love." She let out a sigh before smiling that shows she's serious about it. Surprised? Yes Jeongyeon is. She blinked for fast processing what her dongsaeng just said.

"Really? I didn't expect that. Why? what's your reason? for all I know you are so dedicated and faithful to her since you two separated." She asked in curiosity.

"Hmm I finally realized it's time to stop. Besides there's no point of pushing her to remember me." She answered without looking at her unnie. Sure she accepted the fact already but she can't help but feel sad about it. Her unnie noticed that too.

"Well if that's your decision then I will support you." She said with a comforting smile.

"Thanks unnie." Ahh I'm so thankful having a cousin like her.

"Hmm how about we go arcade?" Jeong offered. She can't take them to a club because Nayeon will kill her.

"Oh gonna bet something?" Chaeyoung seems to cheer up from the idea.

"You know we always did. Come on."

The two cousins drove to the nearest arcade where they can play their hearts out. It is something they always did when they're both still a student. Jeong would bet something and Chaeng as well they will fight on a game. Well they're not in the same level as Mina and Irene though.

"Unnie that's unfair!" Chaeng complained.

"What so unfair?" She acted dumb.

"Woah you're really shameless" Chae shook her head in disbelief. Jeongyeon laughed.

"Well not my fault that your gun is broken." She smugly smile and walked towards another game. Chaeyoung huffs in annoyance.

"Fine it's a tie already." Her unnie will take every chances to win. She knows that.

"Oh how about tha-"

"Jeongie?" A woman in short hair, with blonde colors at the end and black leather jacket called the taller woman. Chaeyoung looked at Jeongyeon if she knows the woman.

"Aki? woah small world!" She said in delight.

"Your friend unnie?" Chaeng asked.

"Yes. Aki this is Chaeyoung my cousin and Chaeyoung this is Akira." She introduced the two girls. They greeted each other with smile and a little bow.

"I didn't know you'll be here." Jeong exclaimed.

"Nah you know I like roaming around the city." She said and smiled. Her smile looks so familiar. It's like I'm seeing another version of Mina. Chaeyoung thought.

"You changed your hair, suits you." She complimented to the woman. Aki snorted and nudge the girl.

"My other friends don't like it." She scoffed.

"They don't? I think you look cute with it though." This time it's Chaeyoung who talked.

"Oh yeah right. I like you already! those scumbags just don't have a taste. The gamer didn't even said anything and said it's a so so I mean bruh it's a match." She rolled her eyes. Both Jeong and Chaeng shared a look and then chuckled.

"So you are here to cool yourself?"

"Yeah I left them somewhere close her-"

"A-ki-ra" A woman taller than Aki came in the scene and started to pinch her ear.

"ouch! Yah Lee Chaeyeon!" She complained. The woman let go and crossed her arms looking ready to scold the girl. Jeong and Chaeyoung just stood in front of them spectating the interesting banter.

"Why did you leave? Don't you know you-"

"blah blah blah come on loosen up as if they can harm us." She confidently smirked.

It looks like she forgot about us.

"Uhm excuse me?" Jeong interrupted. Chaeyeon and Akira looked at her at the same time.

"You should talk first we'll get going Aki" She excused. She noticed that the two woman needs to talk first and they shouldn't indulge themselves on their matter.

"Nah it's okay. This is Chaeyeon my- wait what are we?" She turned to the taller woman in black.

"I don't know." She replied. Chaeyoung and Jeong are confused because of the two other girls.

"Geez. So she's Chaeyeon. Done, Let's go play some game don't mind her." She linked arms with the cousins. Dragging them to another game station.

"Aish that woman." Chaeyeon hissed seeing the three girls walking away.

"Where is she?" Sakura came on her side with a lollipop in mouth.

"She ditched us." Chaeyeon deadpan.

"Oh what's so new with that? She's always like that." Sakura replied.

"Are you not worried?" Chaeyeon eyed the girl on her side.

"betsu ni" (not really) while staring back at her innocently. Chaeyeon let out a sigh.

"You want to play around?" She asked in a defeated manner. Sakura's eyes twinkles.

"I guess you do."
