chapter 24

On their headquarters, the three girls gathered on the living room. Nayeon, Momo and Jihyo is thinking about their plan. How they will convince the girl and keep her on their side.

"I'll talk to her. It's better that I'll do it." Jihyo raised her hand.

"Will she believe you?" Momo is skeptical, she did not know that the captain is close with the girl. After all, they don't know her real identity.

"She better be or this will fail." Jihyo let out a sigh.

"I'm sure she will. The fact that Mina is that woman there's no way she wouldn't do it." Nayeon crossed her arms. Analyzing the possibilities.

"Captain are you close with Chaeyoung?" Momo asked. She's curious.

Jihyo contemplates if she will say it. Of course the main purpose of hiding her identity to the team is because of Mina. So maybe she can let down her guard to Momo.

"I am" Jihyo took out her mask. Momo gasped seeing a familiar face.

"You- you are that woman who visited us-" She stuttered.

"Yes I am Park Jihyo. But please keep this a secret to Mina." She smiled gently.

"But why?" Momo asked in confusion. By any means it was Mina who should know because it's her life they're trying to protect.

"That is something I can't say for now. Can I trust you with this Momoring?" Jihyo can show herself but the  reason behind is something she can not say for the moment.

"Okay I'll keep it. I trust you too." Momo decided not to touch the matter for now. What is important is to defend themselves from those monsters. If Jihyo has a good reason for hiding her identity, she's not one to rush things. Jihyo smiled to her in gratitude.

"The two of them will be back tomorrow." Nayeon chirped in.

"Tomorrow huh. Okay the sooner the better." Jihyo nodded to herself. They only have limited time. She needs to brief the cub about the plan to make it a success. Mina is their priority, because she was the one the organization is craving to have. Keeping her safe is a must. It'll be bloody once they'll have her. No one can stop them.

"Then I shall check those two." Momo excused herself to check to the love birds.

Let's hope we can make it with this little time.

The small waves gently brushed through my small feet. As the salt water embrace me I heard a laugh on my side.

"Unnie! The water is cold." The younger kid said while giggling. It was the same kid I saw in my other dream. I don't know why but somehow I could feel familiarity. Those smiles... It resembles someone.

"Of course it'll be cold." I answered.

"Then penguin unnie let's play" She cheerfully tug me.

"What should we play?" I asked.

"Let's build a castle" She suggested.

"Sure what kind of castle do you want?" I smiled. Ahh why does it feel so warm?

"A big one! So that we can live there."  Her dimple smile showing from her cute little face.

"We can't build that big though."

"Hmm then someday I'll build us a house that we can live together." Her companion said while stacking the sand.

"Someday? Why are we living together?" I asked.

"Because I'll marry unnie." She said without even hesitating. I paused from helping her. Just what is this kid talking about?

"Me?"

"Yes I will make you happy and take you away from them." The little kid pointed at the house close to the shore. I chuckled hearing her plan. Aw such a cute idea.

"Why would you take me away from them?"  she asked in curiosity.

"Because they're taking you away from me." She pouted and huffs. Ohh. When I turned to look at her...

"What do you-"

Suddenly the scene changed. It was no longer in the beach. It was a wide field with towering walls around. Bob wires embedded with electricity on top of it. The cage. I looked around. Blood, it was coated with fresh blood. Dead bodies around me.

"Number Zero please exit the cage. I repeat exit the cage." The speaker announced on the side. Why the hell... When I tried to remember what is happening the speakers starts to let out a static sound.

The world starts to spin itself. She can't understand... Her memory starts to deteriorate. She can't remember the scene so clearly.

"Unnie.." "I'm sorry Mina I need to do it." "No!"

"Please stop!"

"Unnie.."

...

"No!" Mina gasp and sat up. Chaeyoung who was sleeping on the other bed stirred from the noise.

"Mina?" She asked in a hoarse voice. Mina snapped back in reality and start calming herself. A nightmare. She tried to take a deep breath and then exhale. Good thing she calmed down fast. When she didn't answer, Chaeyoung stood up from her bed and approached her.

"Are you okay? You look pale." She commented. Mina paused when Chaeyoung point that out. Shit. She closed her eyes and tried to reverse her eye color back to normal but it won't work. Seems like the dream triggers something in her.

"I'm fine I just need to close my eyes." She responded. Chaeyoung looked at her worriedly. What's in her eyes? Did it turn blue again?

"Did it hurt?" She asked. Mina just nodded to avoid more questions.

"Should I get you a medicine?" She asked again.

"No it's fine Chae you can go back to sleep." She urged the girl to go back to her bed.

"I won't. you don't look fine at all." Chaeyoung sat beside her. Mina sigh in frustration from the stubborn girl. "Mina open them."

"The what?"

"Your eyes I want to see them." She smiled looking at her.

"Why?"

"Aish just open them." Chaeyoung nudge her. Mina gave up and eventually slowly open them. Chaeyoung was met with a pair of blue eyes intensely looking at her. She look so mesmerized to the orbs. Mina's eyes wasn't the typical blue eyes. Somehow it flickers some light. Now that she can observe it up close without the fear for her life. She's admiring it. Like a deep cold ocean on a winter's day.

"What?" Mina looked at her blankly.

"Your eyes looks so beautiful." She answered honestly. Mina just continued to look at her.

"Why do you hide it? It looks amazing on you." She complimented. Mina was surprised that the girl wasn't scared at all.

"This eyes can kill Chae. It's not something to be proud of." She stated.

"But aside from what it can do it won't take the fact that its beautiful." She smiled.

"What's with you?" She eyed her weirdly. Mina can notice the change of behavior towards her. It's like Chaeyoung is getting closer to her each day.

"Hmm? nothing is wrong with me." She looked at Mina innocently. Mina let out a sigh seeing that she won't get any concrete answer from her.

"Anyways did you had a nightmare?" Chae changed the topic.

"I think I did."

"You think?"

"Yeah I did."

"So what is it about?"

Mina looked at her blankly. Chaeyoung stared back.

"I don't need to tell you. Go back to your bed. I'm going back to sleep." Mina laid down again and turned to the other side, not to face Chaeyoung. The cub pouted from the rejection of the girl.

"Meanie~" She said and eventually forced to go back to her bed. She slipped under the cover and decided to face the back of the girl.

A nightmare huh... but you called my name.

Dahyun laid on the bed unconscious with IV's injected on her. It seems like it's not just blood but she also lost too much energy. The energy of someone like them is different from normal human. Considering her weak body is not in good shape too. She has yet to wake up and seems like it won't be sooner.

"Sana-chan you should eat." Momo entered the room with a food tray. Sana turned to her and crack a small smile.

"Thank you Momoring but I don't have the appetite." She kindly declined. Momo sigh for nth time. It's the third meal that the woman rejected.

"Dahyun will get angry you know." Momo put the tray aside.

"That would be better than her lying here." Sana is holding her lover's hand not even once to let go.

"She'll wake up soon. It takes time to replenish her energy." Momo patted her shoulder to comfort the worried girl.

"But I want to be here when she wake up."

"I know but you need to take care of yourself too. Mina will be back today. We'll be having a meeting please take a rest first." Momo patted her shoulders again before finally leaving the room. Sana was left with a sigh. She has to do her part too as a member. Standing up, she leaned into the sleeping girl and kissed her forehead.

Dahyun is her life support now. She was close to lose her because she became too relax about their plan. She should know better than to leave her alone. There's a part of her wanting to blame herself but she knows Dahyun would get angry. She knows the woman hates it when she starts blaming herself with everything. The circumstances made it hard for her too. They're ambushed and she can't do anything but to push her way. She came late though, she is thankful for Momo and Nayeon who came before the worst might come.

"Dahyunie I'll back later. Please wake up soon hmm." She whispered.

"I'll make sure to deliver my revenge to that woman." She gritted her teeth remembering the one who gave Dahyun a hard time. Eyes glowing in blue.

No one mess on what's mine.

...

Chaeyoung and Mina just landed back in Korea. They're on their way to Chaeyoung's condominium when a call flashes on her phone screen. It was her Jihyo unnie. Tsk, this woman.

"Hello Chaeyoung? Did you arrive already?" Jihyo's voice sounds so serious. She thought she could scold her unnie for sending her without proper preparations first but it seems like that will be only for the next time.

"Yes unnie something happened?" She asked. Slight worried for the older woman.

"Nothing happened but can you meet me in my office?"

"Right now?"

"Yeah I need to tell you something."

Chaeyoung understood that it is important just from the tone of the woman.

"Okay I'm coming."

"Thank you and please don't bring Mina with you." Jihyo specifically pointed that.

"Is it confidential?"

"Yes" She answered shortly. Chaeyoung let out a sigh.

"Okay." She ended the call.

"Minari drop me on the company. I need to give the folder to Jihyo unnie. We'll be having a dinner together so you can go home first" She turned to the drive who was focused on driving. Mina just hums as a reply. After dropping her..

"I'll have to go somewhere too. Call me when you're finished." Mina said it with a poker face. Her voice cold a distant. Chaeyoung is getting used to the freezing aura of the girl. Somehow it doesn't scare her.

"Hai don't worry I'm not escaping."

"Who said that I'm worried?" Mina eyed her blankly.

"Aigoo" Chaeyoung deadpan. Mina didn't react instead she said something surprising.

"Let's talk about your life when we get back to your condo later."

"You're going to kill me?" Chaeyoung gasped and acted like she's scared. Mina's brows furrowed.

"I wouldn't bother to tell you if that was the case."

Chaeyoung pouted to the cold retort. Surely, this Mina is not easy to talk with but she still found herself liking it.

"Yeah whatever." She rolled her eyes and chuckled. Somehow it wasn't that cold anymore.

"Okay." Mina drove off on her way somewhere who knows where. Chaeyoung wasn't one to pry. She made her way to her unnie's office. Opening the door, a familiar fragrance welcomed her. It's Jihyo's perfume.

"Hi cub" Her unnie noticed her entrance and smiled at her. But her eyes speaks how nervous she is.

"Tsk after sending me off in Japan in short notice." She crossed her arms as if she's getting angry. Jihyo laughed at her. Somehow it made the nervousness calm down.

"I'm sorry I need to do it and besides It's like doing you a favor right?" She smiled. Her confidence is back. I need to tell her and make her understand whatever happen.

"What do you mean a favor?"

"Mina.. You like her right?" She said directly not even trying to detour some words.

Surprised, she is. Confused? more than that. Chaeyoung is baffled from the question. How did she know? Did Jeong unnie told her? But I never speak about who.

"I know you have many questions but first please have a sit."

I didn't know such revelations will be happening today...

I won't be updating daily anymore. Classes might start again next week so I need to prepare. I have many plates that has yet to finish so I hope you understand.
