Chapter 23 of 25

22 | Devil's Trap

A/n: Ayyyy! Final chapter! I can't believe it. I want to thank all the supporters of this book for your votes and your reads.

I would love to hear from you guys!

When I write something so sad, I have to hold my chest to stop my heart from sinking. And that happened here. So proceed with caution.

Y/h/c- your hair colour

•••••••••••••••••••••••••••

We looked at each other a little too long to be 'just friends'.

Sam's P.O.V.

The youngest Winchester calms his nerves down. Standing out of Bobby Singer's house with a dog barking crazily at them, the last couple of days race through his mind.

In the last few days, a lot had happened. But his talks with Y/n had been the one thing keeping him sane.

They had landed up in Salvation when Sam had a vision of yellow eyes killing a mother there. To save another family from falling down the same rabbit hole they did, they raced to their rescue.

When that demon bitch called with Caleb on the line, Sam had felt his heart still in his chest. He had felt as if his whole body was shutting down. But when he realized that Meg hadn't mentioned your name, he immediately reached for his phone, pacing the room as the phone rang.

Sam couldn't help shouting into the phone as panic fuelled what he did. Dean asked him for the phone when John narrowed his eyes at Sam.

Sam gave the phone reluctantly, biting his nails as he listened to Dean instructing Y/n to get out of the house. When Dean's eyes widened, Sam's did too.

His heart started to race.

"Y/n?" Dean asked into the phone.

"What happened?" Sam remembers asking, shouting nearly. "What happened?!"

"She's not answering," Dean said with wide eyes, lifting them to meet Sam's equally widened eyes.

Sam snatched the phone from his brother, frantically calling out her name, pacing the room and ignoring the looks John was giving him.

Finally, she answered and Sam felt a weight being lifted off his chest.

"Send her to Bobby's," Dean said. "Sioux Falls."

Sam nodded and instructed her to go there.

After hanging up, Sam swore and punched the wall, thinking how Y/n could've died. Because of him.

Dean and John had to wrench him away from the wall with a dent in it and calm him down. Sam ignored his bleeding knuckles and was ready to kill that son of a bitch, no excitement, no happiness, just pure rage, and anger. Anger that he killed his mom and Jess. Anger that one of his servants almost killed Y/n. He was done with chasing the demon around. He was going to finish killing yellow eyes that night.

John held up his side of the bargain proposed by Meg; Colt for John's friends. She told him to meet him in Lincoln when she abruptly cut the call, possibly to talk to Y/n. John bought a vintage gun to make it look like the Colt while his sons would take the real one to kill yellow eyes.

They were so close to killing yellow eyes in the house in Salvation. So close yet Sam would have to go into a burning house to kill the S.O.B. Dean had stopped him saying: "It's suicide! Think about Y/n!"

Somehow thinking of Y/n had calmed him down slightly. His rage still bubbled over as he thought of how close he was. Sam Winchester hated losing.

Meg had called then, saying that John was with her and she had found out that the Colt was fake.

Without any guidance on what to do next and wanting help, Dean decided to go to Bobby Singer's house. They could meet Y/n and use the old hunter's help.

Now standing outside the hunter's house, Sam was anxious to meet Y/n. It would be their first time meeting after the kiss. The first time where things would be different between them.

"You nervous?" Dean asks.

"Why would I be?"

"After what I saw at the motel room," he glances at Sam with a sly smile, "I don't know, I thought you would be nervous seeing her."

Sam's cheeks heat up. Was he making it that obvious?

"Shut up," Sam snaps.

"Ooh, Sammy's got a crush," Dean whispers.

"Dad is missing, Dean. Let's focus on that, please," Sam says and gives his brother his bitch face.

He hesitates and Sam raises his eyebrow. "Dad's going to be fine," trying to convince himself more than to Sam. "Stop making me feel guilty."

Sam rolls his eyes and looks irritatedly at the door. He raises his hand to knock again when it swings open, revealing a blond-haired man who was about Dean's height.

"You're not Bobby," Dean says as he draws his gun out, pointing it at the man who looked in his late twenties.

"I'm not Bobby," the man repeats calmly and Sam shares a look with Dean. "My name is Chris Williams. I'm a hunter."

Sam stands up straighter and closes his slightly hanging mouth. "You're Chris?"

"Have we met before?" The man asks, squinting at the younger Winchester.

From behind Chris, a man with a beard and a baseball cap appears into view.

"What'd I tell you about opening the door?" He asks Chris who gives the old hunter a sheepish grin.

"Bobby," Dean says, relieved and puts his gun down.

"Hey, boys," Bobby says with a small awkward smile. "Come in."

Sam walked in the house, darting his eyes around, pretending to study the house, but was actually looking for Y/n.

They walk into the study with Bobby and Chris when Sam sees the brown-eyed girl in the kitchen, making a sandwich stuffed with loads of ham and beef jerky, with her tongue sticking out.

When he chuckles and shares a look with Dean, she looks up with widened eyes, recognizing his laugh.

"Sam," she breathes out. "Dean!" Sam swears he sees Chris looking at him, realisation settling onto his features when Y/n said his name.

She walks around the dining table and almost jogs to hug the Winchester brothers.

Did she always look this beautiful?

She was wearing her usual tank top and flannel with jeans but Sam saw something different about her.

She crushes both of their bodies and sighs in relief, happiness. She pulls back and looks between the tall brothers. "What happened? Why didn't you call me last night?"

Dean glances at Sam with a small smile.

"We should talk about it," Sam says and glances at Chris. "Alone." He raises his eyebrows to show the urgency of the situation.

"Uh, sure," Y/n frowns while turning back to look at Chris.

"I was going to leave anyway," Chris says after a pause."Call me whenever, okay?"

"Yeah," Y/n whispers. "Thanks for yesterday."

The man gives her a nod and turns to Sam. He brings his hand up to clap Sam's arm, making the Winchester almost move away. "Take care of her."

He leaves the room and Sam frowns sharing a confused look with Dean and looking at Y/n questioningly. She brings her lips up on one side and shakes her head. It was nothing. Sam nods, just happy to see Y/n well after what went down the day before.

"So, what happened?" Y/n asks, turning back to face the Winchesters, not noticing Sam's expression.

~

"You're kidding?"

An awkward silence settles.

"Sam, seriously?! You were going to run into a burning house to kill yellow eyes?" Sam keeps his eyes down and Y/n purses her lips. "I can't understand the anger you feel but I do know that you were acting selfishly."

"Selfish?" Sam scoffs as Dean and Bobby look awkwardly between the two of them.

"Yes, selfish. Did you even think about me before you tried running into the house?" She almost shouts and Sam looks up. Her lips were parted and eyes shined in anger.

Sam looks back at Dean whose eyebrows were raised and Bobby who looked between the two of them in confusion.

"Can we talk?" Sam whispers and leans forward.

"I don't think there's anything left to talk," Y/n says and leans back in her chair with her hands folded on her chest. She looked away from Sam with her jaw clenched.

"I-"

"Here," Bobby says awkwardly, keeping a huge book in front of Sam. "Key of Solomon. Information to last you a long time."

Sam sees Y/n glancing at the book, interest clearly piqued. Sam opens the book, taking in the smell of old paper.

"And here you go," Bobby says again and hands Dean a silver flask. Sam's brother turns the flask in his hand, skimming his eyes over the intricate designs.

"What is this? Holy water?"

"That one is. This is whiskey." Bobby holds up the other flask in his hand, opens it, and takes a swig.

"Are you really drinking this early?" Y/n grunts, her anger marking her voice.

"Considering what's happening now, I think I'm entitled," he replies and offers the whiskey to Dean.

"Bobby, thanks- thanks for everything," Dean says after taking a swig too. "To tell you the truth, I wasn't so sure if we should come."

"Nonsense, your daddy needs help," Bobby replies.

"Also because I'm staying here," Y/n quips.

"Temporarily, if you don't clean the mess you made in the kitchen," Bobby says and Y/n mocks him.

"Girl, I swear-"

"Okay, I'm going. I'm going," Y/n says as she stumbles out of her chair, putting her arms up in mock surrender. Sharing a look with Winchesters, she shuffles into the kitchen.

"Only a day and she listens to you?" Dean jokes.

"She reminds me of someone," Bobby says, half-mindedly as if thinking of that someone.

"Who?" Sam asks.

"I don't remember."

"You don't-" Sam repeats incredulously. He was curious about who Bobby was thinking of.

"Last time we saw you, you threatened to blast Dad full of buckshot," Dean says, diverting the conversation to the problem at hand. "You cocked the shotgun and everything."

Bobby inhales. "Yeah, well, what can I say? John just has that effect on people."

Sam recalls what Y/n had said about her parents becoming hostile at the mention of John's name.

"Yeah, I guess he does."

"None of that matters now. All that matters is that you get him back," Bobby says.

"Bobby, this book," Sam chuckles in amazement, "I've never seen anything quite like it."

"It's the real deal, all right."

"And these protective circles? They really work?"

"Hell, yeah. You get a demon in one, they're trapped," Bobby replies. "They're powerless. It's like a satanic roach motel."

Sam hears a snicker from behind him and sees Y/n walking back to her chair on the table. He gives her a small smile.

"Images," she says.

"I'll tell you something else too," Bobby says as he and Dean walk toward Sam and you with serious eyes. "This is some serious crap you kids stepped into."

"Oh yeah? How's that?" Sam says trying not to sound scared. He was scared though. But he was ready to get his dad, kill yellow eyes, and go back to college. Maybe even with Y/n. However, what Bobby said didn't seem to agree with his plans.

"Normal year, I hear, say, three demonic possessions, maybe four, tops."

"Yeah," Dean says, prompting Bobby to continue.

"This year, I heard 27 so far. You get what I'm saying?" Bobby glances at the three of you. "More and more demons are walking among us. A lot more."

"Do you know why?" Sam asks.

Y/n remains silent, a calculated look on her face.

"No," Bobby breathes out. "But I know it's something big. A storm's coming, and you boys, your daddy," Bobby looks at the girl, "Y/n too - you are smack in the middle of it."

Sam turns to his brother. A flurry of expressions go through his face; fear, determination, confusion.

He turns to look at Y/n who kept her eyes trained on Bobby with fear written all over her face. Sam swears mentally. Of course, she was scared. All she wanted was to avenge Jessica's death and know she had been dragged into this mess.

Sam frowns and looks back when he hears Bobby's dog barking.

"Rumsfeld," Bobby mutters anxiously and makes his way to the window to peer outside. There's a yowl and the sound of chains rattling and Bobby parts the shutters of the blind.

"What is it?" Y/n asks, worry, and fear making her voice shake slightly.

Y/n and Sam stand up and make their way to the window. Outside, Sam sees the dog's chain hanging loosely from the tree it was wrapped around with no dog in sight. His eyes dart around, searching for Rumsfeld.

"Something's wrong," Bobby states in a low voice.

Suddenly, the door flies off its hinges with a loud crack, and the blonde woman behind lowers her leg. She walks inside, looking like hell.

"No more crap, okay?" She says as she catches her breath, looking between the hunters and Y/n.

Without thinking, Dean grabs the flask containing holy water and walks towards Meg. With a wave of her hand, Dean goes flying into a stack of books. Sam's brother gets knocked out just like that.

Sam stands between the demon and Y/n, not wanting her to get hurt.

"I want the Colt, Sam. The real Colt. Right now," Meg demands not paying attention to Y/n or Bobby. The three of you slowly walk into the library.

"We don't have it on us. We buried it," Sam lies.

"Didn't I say, 'No more crap'? I swear after everything I heard about you Winchesters, I've got to tell you, I'm a little underwhelmed. First, Johny tries to pawn off a fake gun, and then he leaves the real gun with you two chuckleheads. Lackluster, man! I mean did you really think I wouldn't find you?" Meg says as she concludes her 'speech'.

The older Winchester walks around the corner and Sam was relieved to see that he was okay. "Actually," he says, voice rough, "we were counting on it."

Meg turns to look at Dean who leaned against the entryway's frame with a small smirk. He looks up at the ceiling where a demon protective circle is painted. Meg looks up too, her face turning into a scowl as she clenches her jaw and fists.

"Gotcha," Dean says.

~

"I salted the doors and the windows," Bobby says to the brothers, carrying a red jug filled with salt. "If there are any demons out there, they ain't getting in."

Sam glances at Y/n who looked uncomfortable but mostly angry at seeing the demon. He walks over to her as Dean stalks over to Meg, threateningly.

"Where's our father, Meg?"

"Are you fine?" Sam whispers and Y/n looks up at him, slightly surprised. She nods after hesitating a bit.

"Yeah, I guess. I want to kill her," she replies, her voice cold.

"You didn't ask very nice," Meg replies with a smile on her lips.

"That's not fine," Sam says, pursing his lips. Then again, who was he to tell her what was right or not?

"Where's our father, bitch," Dean asks.

"Jeez, you kiss your mother with that mouth? Oh, I forgot. You don't," the demon replies smugly.

"She killed Caleb in front of me," Y/n whispers and Sam looks back down at her. "He didn't deserve it."

"You think this is a freakin' game!?" Dean shouts and Y/n jumps slightly beside Sam.

"Where is he? What did you-"

"It's little Y/n Y/l/n," Meg says as she slides her eyes over to the brown-eyed girl standing beside Sam. The Winchester hears Y/n exhale a shaky breath.

"Shut-"

"Dean," Y/n breathes out and Sam looks at her in surprise. Dean turns back, annoyed, and slightly aghast.

She steps forward and Meg looks on in amusement.

"How do you know my name?" Y/n asks.

"You know, I always found your car accident quite strange," Meg says with a smile, enjoying the look of surprise on Y/n's face.

"What do you mean?" Y/n asks, looking at her with narrowed eyes. Sam waits to listen to the demon's explanation. But Dean sighs, obviously getting annoyed, though he doesn't stop Y/n.

"Your whole life has been a lie. Who gets a scar like that from a car accident? Looks more like something clawed you," she says with a sadistic smile.

Y/n curls her lip as she looks at the demon in hatred.

"And your brother? Y/b/n. Your parents lied to you. Deep inside, you know that he didn't die in the accident," she continues. "You know that your parents are lying to you," she continues and Y/n's lip twitches and Sam knew she was barely holding it together.

"You bitch," Y/n spits out with so much anger and hatred that it surprised Sam. She takes a step forward, her fist coming up and Sam jumps forward to keep her from attacking the demon.

"Y/n," Sam says as he pulls her out of the room. She claws and hits his body, cursing Meg.

"Let me go," Y/n growls and Sam takes her into one of the guest rooms on the first floor.

"Y/n, stop. Stop!" He breathes out, keeping her shoulders in place. Her eyes were watery as she turns to look up at Sam. "Demons are deceiving. They lie. You can't believe what that bitch says."

"She's right," Y/n whispers, her voice croaky. She wraps her arms around Sam with a shaky breath, hugging him. He hugs her back, clenching his jaw. It was all his fault. All his fault.

"Y/n, it's okay. It's going to be fine," he shushes her as her body slightly wracks against his as she sobs.

The sound of a slap echoes into the room and Sam pulls back. "Stay here."

She nods as she brings her arm up to wipe her tears.

Sam leaves the room, his heart sinking in his chest. Y/n was in this because of him.

It was all his fault.

"You're no girl," Dean hisses when Sam enters the room.

After some more shouting, Dean asks Sam to start the exorcism. He opens the book with a slight shiver, curious, and scared to see what would happen after the words were read.

"He begged for his life with tears in his eyes," Meg says through gritted teeth and Sam stops chanting. "He begged to see his sons one last time. That's when I slit his throat."

He starts once again after Dean looks at him.

"For your sake, I hope you're lying. Cause if it's true, I swear to God, I will march into Hell myself and I will slaughter each and every one of you evil sons on bitches, so help me God," Dean threatens Meg.

Sam continues the exorcism, trying not to mess up the words. A strong gust of wind blows in the room, making books open and flip through their pages. Some tumbled to the ground but Sam didn't let that stop him from chanting the Latin words. Even Meg's painful gasps didn't stop him.

"Where is he?" Dean asks again, trying to see whether she would answer truthfully now.

"You just won't take 'dead' for an answer, will you?" Meg asks.

"Where is he?" Dean asks angrily.

"Dead!"

"No, he's not!" Dean shouts and bends down so he's face-to-face with the demon. "He's not dead. He can't be." Sam stops chanting the words, surprised by Dean's denial. "What are you looking at? Keep reading."

Sam continues, ignoring Meg's screams. It was like the words had power in themselves; Sam could feel the energy of the words when they left his tongue.

Meg screams as her chair slides over the floor, not escaping the protective circle. The wood scraped against the floorboards as the chair moves around more often with every word coming out of Sam's mouth.

"He will be!" Meg screams suddenly.

"Wait!" Dean shouts to stop Sam. He turns back to Meg. "What?"

Meg catches her breath. "He's not dead but he will be after what we do to him."

"How do we know you're telling the truth?"

"You don't."

"Sam!"

"A building, okay?!" Meg shouts. "A building in Jefferson City."

"Missouri. Where- where? An address," Dean asks in haste.

"I don't know."

"And the demon, the one we're looking for, where is it?" Sam asks.

"I don't know. I swear," Meg breathes heavily. "That's everything. That's all I know." She looks between Sam and Dean and behind them; Sam assumes at Bobby.

"Finish it," Dean tells Sam.

"What? I told you the truth!" Meg says helplessly.

"I don't care," Dean grumbles as he circles her.

"You son of a bitch, you promised," Meg spits.

"I lied!" Dean shouts, holding her gaze with eyes flashing. "Sam?"

Sam looks on, thinking. Meg could be of use.

"Sam!" Dean says once again, turning back to look at the younger Winchester. "Read."

Sam grabs Dean's hand when he walks past him. "We can still use her, find out where the demon is."

"She doesn't know."

"She lied. Like she lied to Y/n."

"Sammy, there's an innocent girl trapped somewhere in there. We've gotta help her," Dean explains.

Sam turns back when Bobby walks towards them, surprised to see Y/n standing there in the corner of the room with a detached expression.

"You're gonna kill her," Bobby whispers. Sam turns back to the old hunter, removing his troubled expression.

"What?" Dean asks, perplexed.

"You said she fell from a building," Bobby says looking at the demon tied to the chair, gasping. "That girl's body is broken. The only thing keeping her alive is that demon inside. You exorcise it, the girl is gonna die."

"Listen to me, both of you. We are not gonna leave her like that," Dean says, looking between his brother and Bobby.

"She is a human being," Bobby says, frowning.

"And we're gonna put her out of her misery." Dean turns to Sam. "Finish it."

Sam leaves his mouth slightly open, ready to retort when from the corner of his eye he sees Y/n moving forward, towards Meg.

"Finish it," Dean says again and Sam looks at him, removing his eyes off Y/n for a second.

"This is for speaking crap about my brother," Y/n starts off and the three hunters look at her in surprise. "And this is for Caleb."

Sam looks at Meg in widened eyes when he sees her smiling painfully.

"This is going to be fun," she says and Y/n starts chanting words. Sam frowns, looks back in his book, shocked to see she was saying the exact words.

"Dominicos sanctae-"

"Y/n-" Dean starts, trying to stop the girl. She shouldn't be doing it.

"Because when I come back," Meg growls, trying not to scream in pain, "I can see you mourning your family's death!"

Meg lets out a shout as her body twitches in the chair, her knuckles turn white as she grips the chair's handle and her eyes turn completely black.

"-Audi nos. Gloria Patri!" Y/n finishes, her face contorted in pain and anger as she clutched her head.

Meg's head falls back as black smoke pours out of her mouth, swirling around the room before disappearing. Her head falls limp on the chair as a trickle of blood flows down her chin.

"I'll go get some blankets," Y/n groans, still clutching her head, as the hunters looked at her in fear and confusion.

How did she know the exorcism?

Y/n's P.O.V.

You look around the field you were lying down on, weeds turning golden and the trees in the afternoon sun casting shadows over you and your companions. The cicadas in the distance chirped and made you feel at peace. Tranquil.

You glance up again at the sky, the grass under you making your skin itch slightly. You place your hands on your abdomen and move around a bit, getting comfortable.

"Dad? Mom?" You ask, looking up at the blue sky.

They hum in response. You look at them and smile softly. They were holding each other's hands and looking up, your mom was studying the clouds and your dad had his eyes closed, listening to his wife describe them.

"What if I don't want to be a hunter?" You ask, quite nervous.

"What do you want to be?" Your mom asks softly with a smile.

"I don't know," you pause. "Were you guys anything besides a hunter?"

"A lawyer," your dad answers, almost bitterly.

"A cop," your mom says. Your dad opens one eye and turns to look at his wife with a smile.

"Why did you become a hunter?"

Your dad hesitates. "Your grandmother was a hunter. She died and I guess that after I found out what killed her, I couldn't walk away and leave people to deal with monsters alone. I had to save them."

"There were many deaths in my neighbourhood. When I found out the actual cause of the deaths, I quit my job and started hunting. I do regret it sometimes," she says bitterly and receives a look of betrayal from your dad. "Because then it would be easier to find murders!"

You giggle when you're dad smiles in relief.

"I met your mother on a case," your dad says reminiscing their first case together.

"You're both so badass."

"Language!"

•

"Y/n, seriously?" The bearded man with a worn-out baseball cap asks walking into the room. "Why did I find this in your bag?" He holds up a shotgun, his shotgun.

"Uh, I don't know what you're talking about, Bobby," you say and look at your brother, sprawled on one of the couches who looks up from his comic book.

"Oh really? So you weren't planning on taking this home?"

You hesitate. "No?"

"I swear, the Y/l/n children," Bobby sighs and you laugh awkwardly as Y/b/n sniggers.

•

"I know we go on cases like this but we should've told Mom and Dad about this one," you whisper to Y/b/n while entering the old creepy abandoned house at the edge of the city.

"They're on their own case, Y/n. And who knows, by the time they come, this werewolf may have killed more. And since it's a pureblood, it can kill anyone despite the lunar cycle." He glances down at you with narrowed eyes. "You're not scared, are you?"

"Of course, I'm not," you say in a hushed tone, moving your flashlight around the old, dark room that had cobwebs hanging around and old broken furniture in the corners. There was a mattress that was considerably cleaner than the other stuff and some blood staining the creaking wooden flooring. "You're just an idiot and if I die, I'm going to kill you."

"You're not gonna die. Not as long as I'm here," Y/b/n says holding his gun up, filled with silver bullets. You raise your gun up too. You notice another mattress tucked into the corner, clean like the last one, and you frown.

"What if there's more than-"

You're thrown to the floor.

"Y/n!" You hear your brother shout as you quickly recover and jump to your feet. A beefy man pushes you down again with a lot of power. He climbs on top of you, his yellow teeth bared and his breath violating your nose.

"Man, do you even brush or what?" You ask and turn to see your gun just inches away from your reach. You see Y/b/n under another werewolf and you swear mentally. There was more than one. Your brother was an idiot.

"Sassy," the man breathes out, his breath making you want to puke. "I like it."

"Leave her alone!" Your brother shouts, trying to fight off the werewolf on him. He pulls his knife out and slashes it along his face and the man jumps up, swearing as he brings his arm up to touch his wound.

The man jumps off you and attacks your brother, allowing you to scurry for your gun. But the other one jumps on you and the gun falls out of your hand again.

You glance at your brother and your heart stills. The man had pushed him to the wall and your brother had lacerations on his stomach and face. The man's claws went over your brother's chest.

"No. No!" You wrestle against the man on top of you as he chuckles. He was tough.

The claws make way for the werewolf's hand to enter his chest and your brother gurgles out blood as he looks down at you with hooded eyes. The werewolf pulls out his heart with a cackle.

"No! You son of a bitch!" You refuse to let your tears blur your vision as your brother falls onto the ground, motionless.

"Y/b/n! Y/b/n!" Your cries fill the house as you look at your limp brother's body.

He couldn't be dead. He couldn't be dead.

"It's your turn now, missy," the one on you growls, dragging his claw along from your hip up to your breast, lifting your shirt while doing it. His claw easily severed your skin making you whimper in pain. You cried, not caring whether you lived or died now. You didn't care. You shut your eyes, awaiting your destiny when the sound of a bullet being fired rings in the air.

You hear a shout and a second shot.

Through hooded eyes, you see someone kneel beside you. You felt so weak. So weak.

You turn to your brother and see someone kneeling over him too, bending over and crying. You smile and entangle your hands with your brother's.

You were leaving this world at fourteen, but you would leave with your brother.

You open your eyes as your headache throbs away. You look down at the wooden flooring and the towels beside you. You were on your hands and knees, your chest heaving. You blink multiple times.

You breathe heavily and your heart thuds in your chest. You were wet and sticky because of sweat.

You didn't know how you knew the words for the exorcism, they just came pouring out. A painful headache throbbed in your head, making it hard to focus on the words. When you came upstairs, you had fallen, unable to take the pain anymore. And you lost consciousness, those dreams invading your mind.

But how did I know the words to the exorcism?

No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.

Your brother died in an accident.

No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.

You weren't a hunter.

No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.

Your parents weren't hunters.

No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.

You sit up against the wall, panting heavily as the truth dawns on you.

They were all memories. Not dreams, not nightmares.

Memories.

No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.

That wasn't possible. It-

You get up, wobbling on your knees a bit, tears in your eyes as you mourned your brother's death.

The laceration on your abdomen. How you were good at shooting guns. Why you didn't have that necklace Allison gave you. Why you were good at hunting.

You were a hunter. You were a hunter.

You repeat it in your head, trying to believe it, trying to understand whether you had lost your mind. Maybe someone was playing tricks on you.

No.

They were too real, too vivid to be fake. You felt everything. Everything. Like it really did happen.

You were a hunter.

Your whole life had been a lie. You fall back down, unable to keep your body from wracking as you sobbed, confused.

What was happening?

You refused to believe you were a hunter. You had a normal childhood, your brother didn't die of supernatural causes.

Your sobs get worse when the image of your brother's heart getting ripped out goes through your head again.

"Y/n?" You hear Sam's worried voice before he kneels down and wraps his arms around you.

"Maybe I'm going crazy," you say, you're words hardly understandable because of your sobs. You sniffed and tried stopping but the images haunted you.

"Y/n, what-"

"It can't be true. It can't be true," you say, slightly rocking.

"Y/n," Sam breathes out, understanding your words and tightens his grip around you.

"I remember," you sniff and pull back, your crying suddenly stopping. "I remember."

"Remember what?" Sam asks, frowning as his hands wipe your tears and push your hair back. He stares into your eyes with worry and confusion. He refused to let you go and kept his hands on your shoulders.

It was like an instinct had come over you that stopped you from crying. You wrench his hands away and get up, keeping your stare ahead.

My whole life has been a lie. My whole life has been a lie. My whole life has been a lie.

"Y/n," Sam says as he scrambles to his feet and brings his hand up. You quickly grab it and push it away, not too harshly but not softly either.

"Let me go," you almost growl.

You only had one thing on your mind. You didn't know what happened to your memory or why exorcising Meg triggered it but there were only two people who could explain what happened to you.

Your parents.

You walk down the stairs, happy to see that neither Bobby nor Dean were in your way.

You walk to Bobby's truck, suddenly remembering that you had forgotten him too. You knew him.

As you hotwired the car, the same words kept chanting in your head.

My whole life has been a lie.

You enter the house with no lights on. They told you they had been in Minnesota yet the house's lights were switched off. It was already dark outside, the moon lighting up the sky which made hatred and shivers run up and down your spine.

You walk around, pushing the bobby pin back into your hair and switch on the lights. The smell of iron hits you.

Was that-

"No," you whisper, your heart beating hard in your chest. You stop in your steps, looking at the living room.

You look at the fallen items; lamps, books, cushions. Even a glass vase had fallen with water and flowers on the wooden flooring.

No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.

You stop yourself from freaking out. But what was there not to freak out about?

You walk around the corner cautiously, into the dining room, pulling out Caleb's gun.

Had you met Caleb before too?

There was no telling that.

Your heart thuds in your chest as he smell of iron becomes stronger. Something was wrong.

You brush the question away as you walk around the dining table and a cry fills the house. Your cry.

You first saw the salt circle.

And then?

Then you saw your parents' dead bodies sprawled on the floor, skin ripped and organs falling out as blood soaked their clothes and painted their bodies red. It pooled everywhere and soaked the carpet. Your sneakers were hardly an inch from it.

Your hand falls limp and the black-handled gun fell out of your hand. Your knees give out under you, making contact with your parent's blood. Tears leave your eyes and mix with their blood.

Their blood.

Their dead bodies.

The walls of the house echoed your wails and cries into the night, where the moon shined bright and the stars glittered against the ebony sky.
