Chapter 53
Edwinâs mind was somewhere else, so he didnât catch Sharonâs name.
Nina recalled how Sharon was deeply devoted to Edwin. Sharon even offered her own commeas to help him see again because she feared his family wouldnât accept him if he remained blind.
Nina noticed Edwinâs lack of response to the story and decided not to say anything more, leaving Edwin in place alone with his thoughts.
Sharon didnât have any plans after leaving the hospital, so she swung by her old house and tidied up a bit. It held too many memories for her to let it fall into disrepair as it was built by her parentsâ own hands.
The neglected state of the house saddened Shuren. Mold and peeling wallpaper showed it hadnât been cared for. She planned to hire a construction team for a quick renovation. After cleaning inside, an hour passed.
As Sharon carried the garbage out, she noticed a long shadow ahead, cast by a beautiful woman. Squinting, she recognized the face, yet it seemed different somehow.
Running into someone she didnât want to see three times in one day felt like a weird coincidence to Sharon
Tilda stood at a distance, observing her.
After the cleaning, Sharon wasnât as glamorous as Tilda. Her hair was a bit messy, and she had a touch of sweat on her forehead. Yet, her eyes still shone bright like stars.
Tilda, displeased, looked away. She couldnât resist standing tall and proud, making herself seem taller than Sharon by a few inches
Sharon had no desire to see her, so she didnât bother with greetings and simply walked away,
Hold on, Ms. Cressâ Tilda tumed slightly. âHow about letting us take care of Irenc!â
Sharon stopped in her tracks and looked at Tilda. âMs. Gill, are you out of your mind? Why would I leave my daughter in your care?â
Instead of getting angry at Sharonâs blunt words. Tilda suggested Sharon send Irene back to the Stanley family for a better life and focus on finding happiness with a stable guy, instead of clinging to her ex
Sharon caught onto Tildaâs implication. âAre you suggesting that I insisted on taking Irene back because I still had feelings for Edwin?â
âIsnât it thoughâ Tildaâs smile was sweet, but her eyes held a sharp challenge as she spoke, âMs. Cress, you meddled in Edwinâs and my relationship, separating us for four years. Yet here I am, offering you a chance at happiness. Id call that pretty generous of me
Tildaâs shameless words finally struck a nerve with Sharon. She had held back a lot, but now it seemed there was no point in holding back any longer.
Sharon chuckled lightly. âMs. Gill, you sound so aggrieved that one might mistake you for the victim. Are you sure I meddled in your relationship?â
âI didnât say anything wrong, did 1 Tilda didnât even see Sharon as a match, âHonestly, there wasnât much between me and that guy, Everything couldâve been cleared up, but your meddling made it all awkward. I had to let go and give Edwin to youâ
Tilda smirked, her eyes glinting. âI didnât spill the beans to Edwin till a year later, taking your emotions into accountâ
âA year later?â Sharonâs demeanor shifted abruptly, signaling her distress. She tightly balled her fists within her sleeves.
During these four years, Edwin kept his distance from Sharon, showing linte interest. About a year after they got married, shortly after Irene was born, he occasionally came to see his daughter.
Then one day, he told her he would go on a business trip and would reconsider their relationship when be returned. Believing Edwinâs increasing warmth toward her signaled a positive change, Sharon eagerly awaited his return, hopeful that he had finally accepted her.
But Sharon was taken aback by Edwinâs sudden coldness upon his return. It seemed he had allowed his friends and family to mistreat her from that momention. She wondered if Edwin had heard similar words from Tilda during their encounter on the trip.
Sharon chuckled bitterly, her hidden anger undeniable, She saw through Tildaâs intentionsâto make her miserable. Despite trying to move on after the fourâyear marriage, since Tilda wouldnât relent, neither would she.
Sharon shot back, âMs. Gill, when the reporters asked you about cheating, you stayed silent for five minutes. Wasnât that enough time for you to explainâ Edwin was there. He would have listened.
Tilda narrowed her eyes. Sharonâs words hit home, shutting down every objection she had.

Sharon circled Tika, her tone calm but cutting. âMs. Gill, without my intervention, your cheating scandal would have been exposed four years ago. So, spare me your victim act now. I donât expect gratitude, but at least be sincereâ
Tilda froze, her face flushing with anger as her confidence crumbled
Tilda couldnât wrap her head around the sudden reversal of roles, from victim to beneficiary, caused by Sharonâs intervention.
âBy the way, you claim there was nothing between you and that guy, but you both stripped naked. Do you really expect me to believe you are innocent?â Sharon continued, her gaze shifting to another figure nearby.

Chapter 54
Sharon smirked knowingly, intending to air out certain truths.
She didnât hold back, confronting Tilda directly. âEdwin trusted you, but others saw through it. And letâs be honest, didnât you stay silent deliberately? You thought Edwin cared for you so much that even if you were caught redâhanded, he wouldnât abandon you. You were waiting for him to speak up, to indulge your whims. Isnât that being too selfish?â
Tilda was shocked at Sharonâs accuracy in reading her thoughts from back then.
Tilda, after a momentâs pause, finally found her rebuttal. She wasnât about to ler Sharon walk all over her
Tilda nodded confidently, unfazed. âExactly! So what if Iâm a bit reckless? Edwinâs love for me is undeniable. My plan all along was for the entire city to see how much he adores me. No matter what I do, heâll always paper me, never let me go!
Sharonâs anger flared. âYouâre shameless,â she cursed furiously. Hearing Tilda admit her audacity only fueled Sharonâs indignation. If she hadnât divorced Edwin yet, she would probably slap Tikla a few times.
Sharon said. âHave you ever considered the consequences? What about the reputation of Edwin, the Stanley Family, and even Genesis Group? All of them will have to pay the price for your recklessness.â
âSo what Tilda lifted her chin defiantly. âWho carest Edwin loves me and is willing to sacrifice everything for me.â
shameless flaunting of Edwinâs love was disgusting, a far cry from her usual elegance.
Sharon couldnât help but wonder if Edwin still admired Tikla after witnessing her shameless behavior. Meanwhile, Sharonâs gaze fell on someone, and a sly smirk spread across her lips.
Tilda didnât notice Sharonâs change and continued walking closer. âSharon, this is the difference between you and me
She resented Sharon for stealing Edwin any for four years. Avoiding confrontation before to protect her image, the now saw a chance to stomp all over Sharon in this quiet place,
Tilda cocked her head with a smirk. âEdwinâs all mine. No matter what you do, heâs still wrapped around my finger. You could beg on your knees, but he wouldnât give you the time of day.
âOh,â Sharon said knowingly, nodding and shooting a meaningful glance behind Tilda. Would you dare say that to Edwins face?
âWhatâs there not to dare!â Tilda blurted out, getting caught up in the moment and unable to hold back. But as soon as the words left her mouth, she regretted it.
Tilda spun around and locked eyes with the figure behind her. The shock of recognition froze her in place, sending a jolt of fear through her body.
The man standing there looked like he could freeze time with his cold stare, making everything feel tense.
âEdwinâ¦â she whispered, her throat tight, struggling to breathe, feeling like the might collapse.
Tilda couldnât believe it. She shot Sharon a sharp glance, realizing what had happened. Sharon had seen Edwin earlier and had deliberately provoked her into saying those words.
Sharon smirked, satisfied with Tildaâs unintentional revelation. Without a second glance at Edrin, she walked away, leaving him to see Tildaâs true colors for himself.
Edwin, please listen.âTilda had never felt so flustered. She tightened her grip on Edwinâs hand, her fingertips trembling. âActually, L
Tilda didnât know how to proceed. Even if she found the right words, Edwin had already witnessed her ugly side. More explanations might only reinforce his belief that she was adept at distorting the truth
Edwin observed Tildaâs anxiety, a mix of emotions flickering in his gaze. He hadnât anticipated seeing this side of Tilda, finding her sharpâtongued and disdainful demeanor unexpected.
Edric saying Tilda lef by herself got Edwin worried, so he followed. But it turned out to be pretty funny,
Tikla usually put on a classy act in front of Edwin, all polished and elegant. But today, she acted like a totally different person, which was quite a
shocker.
Seeing Edwinâs disgusted look, Tildaâs heart sank. It felt like everything sheâd worked for had gone down the drain. Her legs gave out, and she hit the ground. Then, someone grabbed her arm and whispered, âLetâs date.â
Tilda paused, thinking she might have misheard, then quickly looked up at Edwin, tugging on his sleeve. âEdwin.â
She glanced at his composed yet unreadable face. I mustâve misheard. After all the effort Iâve put in lately, heâs never said those words. Why would
