Chapter 21~ Unreal

"Did I just hear that right, or am I losing my fucking sanity right now!?" I wasn't sure whether or not to ask River to repeat himself just to make sure I did hear him correctly. I anxiously turned to face him and look him in the eyes. I noticed that he was just sitting there, giving me a certain look that told me he was waiting for a response from me.

"Shit, quick y/n what do we say? I'm not even a hundred percent sure I heard him correctly" I rapidly scolded myself internally.

"Uhm I'm sorry Riv, I didn't quite catch that" I embarrassingly admitted whilst absentmindedly shaking my head. Still maintaining eye contact with River, I waited for him to repeat himself again. He paused for a moment, I got the sudden impression that he was immediately regretting whatever it was he had just said. I could see slight redness starting to form in his cheeks, causing my heart to melt in awe and smile kind-heartedly at him.

"Will... You... Go on a double date with me...?" He anxiously stuttered as he spoke and quickly turned back to face the road ahead and started the cars engine.

Fuck I really did hear him correctly. I did not see this coming. What's this double date thing about anyway? And who would we even be going with? My mind was racing with nothing but confused questions.

"Are you asking your best friend out on a date right now Riv? I chuckled. "Yes I will go on this double date with you... But who exactly are we going with?" I asked, trying to act as calm as possible. But little did he know I was internally freaking out right now. I mean what a coincidence, the night I finally realize my true feelings towards him he asks me out on a date!? It's like he knew or something.

"Wait really!?" He turned back to face me in complete shock.

"With Jaide and Ryan of course" he finally answered with a shy smile on his face.

"Oh okay, sounds good then" I agreed with the plans then ended the conversation there to let River focus on getting us back home. As usual I remained staring out my side window daydreaming about anything that came to mind until I felt myself slowly doze off.

- Arriving home -

River's POV:

As I finally arrived back home I turned the engine off. Confused to why y/n hadn't ran out of the car to get to the front door yet I looked over in her direction to see what was up. I felt my heart warm up a little as I saw y/n fast asleep in the passenger seat. I sat there for a moment, admiring her peaceful resting body before stretching my arm out and lightly shaking her to wake up. Surprisingly, she did not budge at all from this. I debated on shaking her a little harder to help wake her but hated the thought of startling her or even somehow hurting her, so I tried to come up with a different solution. I quietly got out of the vehicle and made my way over to y/n's side. I had came to the conclusion that I'd rather pick her up than shake her awake. So with that I proceeded to slowly open her door and carefully reach over to unplug her seatbelt. As I successfully undid the seatbelt she slightly moved whilst still fast asleep, causing me to quickly stop and see if she would wake up or not. She didn't. I proceeded to very carefully tuck one hand under her legs and the other around her back then slowly lift her out of the car. Y/n surprisingly did not budge from any of it either. I carried her bridal style to the front door and had to difficulty knock since I wasn't able to reach into my pocket to grab the house key anymore. Thankfully, Ryan rushed to open the door due to his panic of not knowing where heck y/n had wondered off too during the day and night.

"Thank God you found her!" My brother let out a relieving sigh as he saw that y/n was perfectly fine. Just then Wyatt rushes over from the editing room.

"Where was she dude?" He asked, looking as relieved as Ryan now.

"At her usual hangout spot she goes to when she needs to take a mental break... I'm just glad she introduced me to it's location the night before, otherwise I wouldn't of been able to find her..." I quietly stated to the two boys, still trying not to wake y/n.

"Well I'm glad she did too, now go take her to bed she looks fucking exhausted dude" Ryan told me while pointing to the direction of her room. I didn't waste no time in doing so and started walking to her room. I struggled a bit getting her door open while holding her in my arms but ended up succeeding in the end. Slowly, I nudged the door open with my foot and made my way inside. I felt kinda bad just placing her on the bed without having the blankets on her but I didn't know how to possibly place her under the covers. Gently, I placed her onto the bed then quickly went to my room to grab one of my spare blankets from my wardrobe. Once I came back I pulled the blanket over her sleeping body and even tucked it in on her. Satisfied with my kind gesture I decided to take my leave. I leaned down and gave y/n a kind-hearted peck on the side of the head before walking out and closing the door behind me. I then remembered the plan that Ryan had set up for y/n and I last night.

"I guess I should go and tell him that his plan surprisingly worked" I thought to myself as I started making my way into the editing room.

"Your plan worked Ry" was the first thing I said as I entered the room.

"What plan?" My brother turned to me and gave me an unaware look. I can't believe this fool forgot about his own plan.

"The double date" I reinformed him and took a seat on my office chair.

"Oh shit, proud of you dude!" He gave me a proud brotherly smile and a fist bump.

- Next morning -

Y/n's POV:

My eyes forcefully opened from the blinding beam of early morning sunlight shining through my curtains yet again. I groaned in annoyance while trying to cover my eyes from the light with my hand. Sluggishly I decided to just hurry up and wake up, I knew the sunlight wasn't going to be leaving anytime soon anyways. I slowly lifted myself up bed and started to reanalyzing my surroundings.

"Wait a minute, I don't remember coming home last night..." I realized. Just then all recollection of last night came flooding back to me, like usual after I've woken up. Oh shit I have a date tonight don't I!? As I went to jump out of bed I looked down at the unfamiliar blanket that was over my legs.

"What the fuck, this isn't mine" I stated out loud in utter confusion. I looked down at my bed and noticed that I was laying on top of my own blankets. What the hell is going on? Confused out if my mind I decided to get out of bed and change into some cleaner clothes. Fuck I must of been really tired last night to not change out of these.

Gosh it feels odd looking at myself in the mirror, again checking out my outfit. Satisfied with my choice of clothing I exited the bedroom and made my way into the living room where the boys were.

"Good morning y/n, how did you sleep?" Ryan was the first to speak.

"Morning, I'm not gonna lie I don't remember coming back home last night" I embarrassingly admitted while letting a little chuckle slip out.

"Don't worry, River brang you back home last night" Ryan chuckled along to my comment.

"Yeah I remember River picking me up, I guess I just don't remember falling asleep" I shrugged then starting making my way into the kitchen to fetch something small to eat.

"I put that blanket over you by the way, just in case you were wondering" River admitted to me. Well shit that makes a lot more sense now doesn't it.

"Ah okay, yeah I was wondering how the fuck that ended up on me... Thanks Riv" I smiled then continued with the food search.

- Skip to night time -

The boys and I were all chilling in the lounge room, being like the little kids we were watching SpongeBob. It's nice being able to spend some time with them when it's not work related scenarios.

"I just texted Jaide she said she's ready now so I'm gonna go pick her up" Ryan openly said after shoving his phone back into his pocket. We all said our goodbyes and let him leave to go pick up his girlfriend.

"I'm gonna go and get ready now" I stated while lifting myself off the lounge and jogging to my room.

Oh god I am so anxious right now. What even is my life? I began anxiously tapping my wardrobe door while searching for something nice to wear out for tonight. Quickly analyzing through all of my clothes I came across a cute black dress that I had completely forgot I even owned.

"Oh this will be perfect" I positively thought while admiring the dress. Without a second through I grabbed the dress and tried it on.

I stared into my full length mirror absolutely in love with what I was wearing right now. I quickly went to put some makeup on and do my hair before Ryan came back with his date.

I admired myself in the mirror once more, feeling good about my decision of clothing.

"Y/n I'm back are you ready to go?" I heard Ryan call out from the other side of my door, causing me to jump a little.

"Uhh yeah coming!" I stuttered. Before leaving I made sure to grab my phone from off of my makeup desk and turn the light off.

"Wowzer look at you! You look amazing y/n" Ryan complimented as he analyzed my outfit with a amazed look on his face. I couldn't help but giggle at his reaction.

"Thanks Ry, you look mighty fancy yourself" I analyzed Ryan's change in style. He was wearing a white tuxedo shirt with a black tie. I must admit he looked very handsome tonight.

We began walking into the lounge room to meet up with the others.

"Wow you look so beautiful y/n" Jaide stated as she admired my outfit just as much as I did.

"Awh stop it have you seen yourself!" I commented back while giving her a warm smile.

"Where's Riv?" I openly ask as I looked around the room. I noticed Jaide staring and smiling and something behind me so instinctively I turned around to see what it was.

My heart began to race as I saw a very formal looking River staring right back into my eyes. He too was wearing a white tuxedo shirt with a black tie, making him match with Ryan. My eyes lit up in amazement as I admired how god damn handsome he looked right now. I could see that River too was jaw dropped. He looked at me the very same way I did him.

"Woah..." He muttered under his breath but loud enough for all of us to hear. His shyness caused me to chuckle.

"Woah yourself handsome" I teased, causing Riv to go visibly red in the cheeks.

"You look incredible" he stated while very closely analyzing my outfit. His straightforward compliment instantly made me smile like a idiot.

"Alright love birds let's get out of here before we become late for our renovation" Ryan ordered while teasingly petting both of us on the shoulder and leading the way to the front door. River and I immediately both went quiet after Ryan's little comment. But non the less we followed suite.
