âHow can a fried egg be like thatâ¦â¦ Thatâs what they called scrambled egg, right?â
âEven if you said that, it canât be helped, since it happened this way.â
I thought to myself, staring at the messed up eggs. Well, Iâve never really done any real cooking.
âWell, youâll just have to get better at it from now on. I can teach you if you like. Iâm a woman who doesnât even know what sugar and salt areâ¦â¦â
Saying this, Sawa chan laughed self-deprecatingly. It was a tempting offer for me
An offer that kills two birds with one stone: being able to legally stay with Sawa chan and even getting better at cooking.
âThen, can you teach me how to show affection? Sawa chanâs hamburgers were delicious, and I figured there was a secret to themâ¦â¦â
I said so, and Sawa chan answered shyly and bashfully, scratching her cheeks with her fingers.
âIâm sure youâll be able to find a way to make it work.â
With that said, she vigorously dipped the salad into the cold water. The water splashed on herself and she wiped it with her sleeve. Sawa chanâs reddened face made her look even cuter.
âIf I do that, Iâll be so absorbed in my fantasy of Sawa chan that I wonât be able to cook.â
âOh, enough ! Enough with kind of flatteryâ¦..I mean, unbelievable.
While we were having such a silly conversation, I smelled a burning smell coming from somewhere. I looked into Sawa chanâs face, and her face was turning more and more pale.
âThe bread !â
When I took it out, something black that had passed the point of being savory was taken out. Sawa chan was depressed, and her back was curled up.
ââ
âIâm sorry â¦â¦ I did it.â
She bowed her head apologetically.
âItâs totally fine. Just being able to eat it with Sawa-chan is delicious. Besides, it looks better after I removed the burnt bits with a spoon.â
When I said that, Sawa chan smiled at me. I like it better when she smiles than when she looks apologetic.
âWell, thatâs right. But I never thought I would screw up like thisâ¦â¦. Itâs definitely Shoâs fault !â
Sawa chan said as she bit into a piece of bread.
âYouâre right. I wonder if you were fantasizing about my smile?â
As I said that, Sawa chan choked on her bread and coughed.
âGohohoho! H-huh !? Iâm not. Letâs go to school alreadyâ¦â¦â
Sawa chan drank her coffee and got up from her seat. Apparently, she also ate the scrambled eggs that I made.
âWell, I bet the fried eggs were good, too, werenât they?â
He said while twirling the ends of her hair and playing with his fingertips. Sho muttered as he saw Sawa chan leave.
âSheâs so precious that Iâm going to dieâ¦â¦â
