Just after the Demonic Gate opened.
Who would have felt the most urgency?
Perhaps the hunters, tense yet excited by the appearance of new enemies, wondering what sort of gains they might reap?
Or the ordinary citizens, sighing as they cheered for Utopia, in a world now disturbingly accustomed to monsters emerging from gatesâonly to learn that even stronger ones were on the way?
Or maybe the politicians who, having lost influence and relevance to the rising power of hunters, were grinding their teeth in frustration, only to leap in front of the cameras as soon as a new stage was set?
Certainly, they were all shaken by the arrival of demons and the Demonic Gate.
But the ones most shocked by the Gateâs appearance?
That would be the Majin.
And understandably so.
Under constant pressure from the Velvet Hunter Academy, Utopia, and the Majin Extermination Squad, the Majin had been forced to hide away in the deepest shadows, barely able to breathe, let alone act on their true nature or desires.@@novelbin@@
The appearance of the Demonic Gate was like finding an oasis after a long thirst in the desertâa chance for reversal.
And why do I bring this up now...?
"A little odd, wasnât it?"
At my question, Shin Se-hee nodded seriously, her expression grave.
"Yes, this Demonic Gate assault by the Four-Nation Alliance was unreasonably rushed and executed at an abnormal pace."
According to Shin Se-hee, this Demonic Gate operation was a large-scale one, deploying as many as 200 top-tier hunters.
No one knew what kind of demon would emerge from the Gate, how to counter it, or even what rewards might be inside.
