One Week.
Alice had spent the entire week holed up in the residence provided to her at Velvet Hunter Academy. The place they had offered her, which they referred to as her new home, far exceeded anything she had ever imagined.
"I thought weâd be living together like roommatesâ¦"
Fortunately, that wasnât the case. Instead, it felt more like being neighbors in the same building.
An entire vacant floor of the building was given to Alice. Coming from the remote, mountainous Taebaek region, which could only be described as a backwater, the civilized world was like an entirely different planet to Alice.
"I can use hot water even in winter!"
There was no need to draw water from a well, thanks to a Bluetooth shower that operated with a magic stone.
A vacuum cleaner that not only swept the floor without the need for a broom but also turned food waste into fertilizer in an instant.
A fully automated wardrobe that refreshed worn clothes to feel as clean as new without the need for washing them in a stream with soap and a paddle.@@novelbin@@
Alice often found herself standing in front of this wardrobe, mesmerized by the process of her clothes becoming clean.
Every modern convenience that replaced the manual labor she was used to felt like a series of shocks that turned her world upside down.
But the most shocking of all was the internet.
