The chill in the air was enough to freeze a soul in place.
Callum faced him squarely and said, âDo you have any idea what Thalassa just went through? She was kidnapped, nearly destroyed. If I hadnât arrived in the nick of time, sheâd be ruined by now!â
His expression darkened as he addressed Lysander.
Lysanderâs gaze swept the room, catching sight of the discarded ropes and the tape that had been used to silence her.
Tightening his hold around Thalassaâs waist, he gritted his teeth and said to Callum, âQuite the coincidence, you being here. Iâll be looking into this, rest assured!â
With that, he turned, Thalassa in tow.
Coming back to her senses, Thalassa, though weak, tried to push away from Lysanderâs firm grip around her waist.
âLet go of me. I can walk on my own.â
Lysanderâs grip tightened slightly, and he gave her a piercing, icy look that could stop anyone dead in their tracks.
His eagle-like gaze was sharp enough to cleave through Thalassaâs resolve.
She faltered, all the grievances she held bottled up inside, unable to voice her pain or vent her frustrations.
Exiting the hotel room with Thalassa, Lysander commanded his bodyguard, âLock down all the exits.
Everyone gets searched. The kidnapper does not get away with this!â
âUnderstood!â the bodyguard replied, taking the order.
Lysanderâs men, demonstrating remarkable efficiency, promptly closed off all exits at the hotel. The hotel manager, visibly anxious, approached, awaiting Lysanderâs instructions.
The shifty-looking man was soon brought forward, kneeling and shaking like a leaf before Lysander.
âWhere did he touch you?â Lysander asked, his deep and steady gaze falling on Thalassa.
âMr. Sinclair, please, Iâll never do it again, I swearâ¦â the man babbled, his legs quivering, realizing the gravity of the man before him.
Upon seeing the man, Thalassa felt a wave of nausea; he was one of Bruceâs cronies, a scoundrel who had caused untold harm.
He had to be punished, or he would just continue to prey on others.
Taking a deep breath to suppress the disgust and anger swirling inside her, Thalassa said, âHe⦠he held me.â
She felt Lysanderâs arm around her waist tense at her words.
His aura turned chilling, and with a frosty glare at the man at his feet, he ordered in a tone devoid of warmth, âFor kidnapping and indecency, caught in the act⦠break his hands and throw him in jail, where heâll spend the rest of his days.â
âRight away!â The bodyguard moved to carry out the command, swiftly and brutally breaking the manâs arms.
A shriek of agony filled the air, echoing off the walls.
Thalassa clenched her fists tight. Once, such a sound would have made her cringe, but now, she felt the man got what he deserved, and she even thought his punishment was lenient.
The man was dragged away as the hotel manager, still shaking, addressed Lysander, âMr. Sinclair, we have the surveillance footage ready. You can review it in the security room.â
Lysander stood, his long legs carrying him and Thalassa towards the security room.
The footage would reveal who had taken Thalassa to the hotel.
As Thalassa followed Lysander to the security room, her heart tightened with apprehension.
