Faye was green with envy for Thalassa, she hated her. Yesterday, Lysander dared use Thalassa as a reason to reject her, which was a total slap in the face.
Thalassa, the root of all evil, was there and saw everything. She had to go!
Upon hearing this, Thalassa instantly got Fayeâs drift. She said, âFaye, thereâs a price to pay for spreading slander.â
âYesterday, no one else heard the conversation | had with Lysander in the office apart from you. So who else could be spreading rumors?â Faye was sure that Thalassa was the one who let out the rumors.
Now, the whole company is buzzing with gossip about her and Lysander, even absurd rumors that Lysander is gay!
Facing Fayeâs accusations, Thalassa stood tall and fearless.
âI didnât eavesdrop on your conversation with Lysander, and I wouldnât do something as boring as spreading rumors. Faye, as a senior staff, you should know better than me that you need evidence before you accuse someone! I might only be a cleaner, but I will not tolerate baseless accusations! If thereâs nothing else, I have work to do.â
With that, Thala turned and left the office.
She had been in the work.
Cleaning Department all yesterday afternoon after cleaning the top floor and went straight home after How could she be the one spreading rumors?
Besides, she was also part of the rumors, no way she would want to make herself the target of gossip.
Lysander had also heard the rumors when he came to the office, his aura icy and displeased.
He called Faye, shouting. âTo my office!â
Soon, Faye was standing in front of Lysander.
Lysander gave her a quick once-over, noticing a change in her outfit today, but to him, she was the same old Faye.
He said in a deep voice, âImmediately suppress these rumors and gossip. If I hear anyone talking about this again, you wonât need to come in tomorrow!â
Faye quickly said, âMr. Sinclair, someoneâs deliberately stirring the pot. Iâve just finished looking into it and found the answer. Mr. Sinclair, listen to this recording.â
The recording was from earlier when Thalassa was at work, female employees whispering in the elevator.
After they finished speaking, Thalassaâs voice could be heard, âWho knows? Besides, everyoneâs different, you canât compare people like that.â
âOh my god, is that the cleaner that Mr. Sinclair brought in to embarrass Faye?â
âYouâre slow on the uptake, gossiping right in front of the person involved. Youâre really something.â
The recording ended.
Lysanderâs gaze was icy, his expression unreadable.
Faye reported, âMr. Sinclair, Thalassa was cleaning the office yesterday and she was the only one who heard our conversation. Itâs clear that she spread the rumor to show that youâre interested in her, to let everyone in the company know.â
Faye saw the chill emanating from Lysander.
She continued, âShe has a lot to gain from this. First, she wants me to lose, for all the Sinclair group employees to understand that you value her more than me. Second, she wants everyone to know that you have feelings for her, so she can get closer to you and declare herself as your woman. Sheâs forcing your hand, using public pressure to make you admit that sheâs your woman.â
âAre you done?â Lysanderâs gaze was sharp, as if he was about to see through Fayeâs mind.
Faye couldnât figure out Lysanderâs real intention, hesitated a bit, then lightly nodded.
âGet but!â
Faye was taken aback, seeing that Lysander was angry, she swallowed her pride, slightly bowed her head, and then left the office.
Why?
She had made everything crystal clear, why hadnât Lysander expressed any intention to punish Thalassa?
He didnât even have any intention to confront Thalassa!
Faye clenched her fists, her nails digging into her flesh, her indignation and jealousy twisting her delicate features.
