The events that took place inside Vibrant Oasis Residences were beyond the bodyguardâs auditory perception. He could only report what he saw.
Having heard the bodyguardâs briefing, Lysanderâs handsome face turned cold, and a sudden icy aura enveloped him.
Even through the phone, the bodyguard could feel the oppressive atmosphere, his voice trembling as he spoke, âAfter that, Ms. Everhart returned to her villa and didnât come out again.â
The line went dead before he could utter another word. Wiping the sweat from his brow, the bodyguard sighed. It was a treacherous tightrope walk, serving Mr. Sinclair; one false step and heâd find himself in deep trouble.
Lysanderâs eyes shimmered with a cold fury. In a sudden movement of frustration, he snapped his pen in half, dark ink splattering across the document, blotting out lines of carefully written words.
After taking the medication, Evelyn was joined by Thalassa, who stayed by her side, fretting over her well-being.
That evening, Thalassa insisted on sharing a bed with her.
âThalassa, you havenât showered yet. Go take one, and then head up to your room on the second floor to sleep. Iâll be fine,â Evelyn said, trying to reassure her.
âBut itâs been so long since weâve slept together. I really want to stay with you tonight,â Thalassa pleaded softly, gently tugging at Evelynâs arm.
âI need some time alone to clear my head. I wonât be able to sleep with you here, sweetie. Go on, back to your room. Donât worry; I wonât do anything foolish again,â Evelyn replied, offering a comforting squeeze to Thalassaâs hand.
Thalassa was terrified at the thought of Evelyn hurting herself again, but seeing her motherâs earnest eyes and calm demeanor, she finally relaxed.
âIâll be right here if you need me,â Thalassa conceded, understanding her motherâs need for personal space.
After leaving Evelynâs room, Thalassa took a hot shower and chose a room close to the staircase on the second floor.
That night, her sleep was restless, her senses on high alert for any call from Evelyn.
In a haze between sleep and wakefulness, Thalassa saw a dark figure at the edge of her bed.
Dismissing it, she closed her eyes to sleep, but her brain suddenly jolted her awake.
As she sat up, the figure became clearer â a tall, chilling presence, like a ghostly apparition.
Her breath caught in her throat as she scooted back in fear.
The shadow moved, leaning over her, and a large hand gripped her chin with undeniable strength.
âWhoâ¦who are you?â Thalassa gasped, her voice trembling, as she instinctively grasped the hand holding her chin.
âWho else would be at your bedside?â A deep, icy voice cut through the silence, bone-chillingly familiar.
That voice was low and resonant. It triggered memories in Thalassaâs mind.
Lysander!
A wave of fear washed over Thalassa as the acute pain in her jaw reminded her of Lysanderâs foul mood.
âLysander, why are you here? How did you get a key?â Thalassa asked, trying to make him loosen his grip. The pain in her jaw was radiating to her temples, throbbing fiercely.
âThe entire Central Ring Realty Group is mine. Is there any place I canât enter?â Lysander tightened his hold, forcing her face up to meet his. In the darkness, his eyes glowed with a predatory light, dangerous and wild.
