She grinned and nodded, âAlright, Iâll take the kids back later.â
Evelyn, who was also quite anxious, breathed a sigh of relief hearing this and smiled at the children.
âYay! I love Daddy!â Elowen clapped her hands jubilantly, her joyful voice reminiscent of a free-spirited bird.
Fitch drove Thalassa, the children, and Evelyn to their home at Vibrant Oasis Residences.
Thankfully, he was driving a seven-seater minivan. Otherwise, it wouldâve been a tight squeeze with so many people.
Upon reaching Vibrant Oasis Residences, Thalassa and the children stepped out of the van. Thalassa turned to Fitch and said, âYou can go ahead, Fitch. Iâll call a cab to take the kids later.â
Fitch protested, âA cab? Just give me a call when youâre ready to leave. Iâll come pick you up.â
âThat works too,â Thalassa agreed. Managing four children in a cab would have been rather challenging. Having a ride would make things much more convenient.
Fitch drove away afterward.
Thalassa and Evelyn held the hands of two children each. The adults walked steadily while the children bounced around with joy. The happy family headed home.
The children chatted and laughed all the way. They were absolutely delighted.
As they climbed the stairs to their floor, they suddenly noticed a figure waiting at their doorstep.
Upon recognizing who it was, Thalassa swiftly halted and gripped the childrenâs hands tighter, casting a wary glance at him.
âWhat are you doing here?â Evelyn also spotted the visitor and immediately shielded the children behind her. She glared at the man with anger and hostility.
Bruce smiled upon seeing Thalassa, then turned his attention to Evelyn. Despite her harsh words, he remained cheerful. He glanced at the children next to Thalassa.
âThese must be my four lovely grandkids. Theyâre adorable,â he said as he reached out to touch the kidsâ chubby cheeks. Before he could get any closer, Thalassa quickly moved the children behind her and got them out of his reach.
Her children were innocent and adorable so such a scoundrel didnât deserve to touch them.
Thalassaâs eyes shimmered with defiance as she stared at Bruce, âDonât you dare lay your filthy hands on my children!â Bruceâs face briefly turned pale and rigid, but he quickly regained his composure, maintaining an outwardly charming demeanor that hid his cunning nature.
âThalassa, look at you. Iâm your father anyway. You shouldnât talk to your father like that,â he said.
âShut up! You are not Thalassaâs father! I was with another man when I had her. She has nothing to do with you!â Evelyn retorted angrily, her voice shaking with emotion.
Her words were filled with deep-seated resentment, both old and new.
Bruceâs smile faded instantly, and it was replaced by a cold and menacing glare. He turned to Evelyn and glared at her, âWhat did you say? Say it again.â
While Bruce could betray women, he could not tolerate being betrayed. He would lose his temper in the blink of an eye even if it was just a claim.
Especially when it came to Evelyn, he could not bear her betrayal.
Because in Bruceâs mind, Evelyn loved him the most, and she had given her first time to him. She was supposed to be his woman! Evelynâs obsession and love for him had given him a strong sense of superiority. He believed that Evelyn was his to control, and only he could bed her.
Otherwise, his powerful sense of superiority would be challenged.
Evelyn glared at Bruce, grinding her, teeth in anger. She emphasized each word, âI said, the children are not your grandchildren, and Thalassa is not your daughter! She was fathered by someone else!â
Bruceâs face turned vicious, âEvelyn, there are consequences for spouting nonsense!â
