After seeing Thalassaâs spirits fall, Hertha quickly put her phone away, indignantly making a point of defending her friend.
It wasnât fair. Why should Lysander be able to see other women while expecting Thalassa to remain chaste for him?
âWho is your happiness?â A deep, intimidating male voice echoed, cutting through the vibrant nightlife.
Its chilling tone instilled fear in all those who heard 1.
Thalassa looked towards the voice, spotting a man striding towards them with an imposing figure highlighted by the neon lights. His icy demeanor felt like it lowered the température around them to near-polar levels.
Lysander had arrived.
Thalassaâs heart instinctively clenched.
Hertha, who had just been full of righteous indignation, seemed to falter at the sight of Lysander.
She stood, intending to protect Thalassa, but as Lysanderâs looming figure drew nearer, she unconsciously took a step back as her resolve wavered. âStay away! We donât want anything to do with you.â
Lysander brushed past her without even a glance, making a beeline for Thalassa. He took her hand, pulling her up from the rock they had been sitting on. His gaze was piercing as he stared at her. âWho are you looking for? Who is your happiness?â
His alluring eyes were filled with rage, and his handsome face was taut.
Thalassa, who had been so desperate to find him, was suddenly calm.
She turned her face away, avoiding his touch. She found her courage, no longer caring about his potential anger.
âItâs certainly not you!â Thalassa snapped. âHertha was right. If you want to see other women, I wonât stop you. But you canât stop me from finding someone I like⦠Ah!â
Before she could finish her sentence, Lysanderâs strong arms wrapped around her waist, pulling her against his muscular body.
âWatch me stop you!â Lysanderâs eyes were cold as he hoisted her onto his shoulder and headed towards the hotel.
âLysander, let me go!â Thalassa beat against his back, kicking and struggling.
Her efforts, however, were futile against Lysanderâs superior strength.
âThalassa!â Hertha, upon seeing her friend being carried away, tried to follow them, but David stepped in her way.
âMs. Kensington, itâs a lovely night. How about I treat you to a cup of coffee?â David suggested while maintaining a professional smile.
âWhoâs in the mood for coffee right now? David, get out of my way!â Hertha tried to push past him.
David didnât budge. âMs. Kensington, if youâre not in the mood for coffee, perhaps we shouldnât disturb Ms. Everhart and Mr. Sinclair.â
âDo they look like theyâre going for coffee?â Hertha scoffed at him.
David simply smiled. His silence said more than any words could.
Realizing what he was implying, Hertha huffed. âFine, I want the most expensive coffee. Youâre paying whether you like it or not.â
With that, she stormed off towards a nearby café as David trailed behind her.
Lysander kicked open the door to his hotel room, tossing Thalassa onto the bed.
The moment she landed, she tried to get up, but Lysanderâs arms trapped her beneath him.
Tell me, who is your happiness?â Lysanderâs cold voice demanded an answer as his frosty breath brushed against her cheek.
âItâs not youâ¦mmph!â Thalassa was cut off by a dominating kiss.
