Thalassa darted out of her house and hailed a cab, directing the driver to Royal Estates.
âSir, could you please hurry?â Thalassaâs heart was pounding with anxiety. She was eager to see Lysander and tell him that she wasnât Bruceâs daughter and that he didnât need to keep her by his side as his emotional punching bag.
She was ready to end their illicit affair.
He had no right to keep her from seeing the kids.
She had never felt such a longing to see him.
Upon reaching the gates of Royal Estates, she was met by the same stoic guard.
Thalassa stated her intentions.
The guard, emotionless as a mannequin, replied, âIâm sorry, Mr. Lysander isnât home. Ms. Everhart, you canât go in.â
He wasnât home again, and she was barred from entry again!
Thalassaâs anxiety escalated.
She couldnât wait another minute.
She dialed Lysanderâs number again, but like before, there was no answer.
Just as Thalassa was about to lose her wits, her phone rang.
It was Hertha.
âThalassa, guess who I just saw outside the Starhaven Hotel?â Hertha sounded very excited. She talked like she had just discovered something great.
âWho?â Thalassa wasnât in the mood for games.
âLysander!â Hertha exclaimed. âHe just walked into the Starhaven Hotel with a woman. Iâm certain I saw them.â
âIâm on my way!â Thalassa responded hurriedly.
After the call, she hailed a cab to the Starhaven Hotel.
Hertha just gave her a lead to find the man she was scouring the city for.
She reached the Starhaven Hotel with a pounding heart, where Hertha was waiting.
âHe went into room 1008.â Hertha informed her. She had been staking out the hotel since she called Thalassa.
Thalassa briskly walked into the hotel, with Hertha trailing behind her.
They took the elevator to the 10th floor, where Thalassa spotted two stern-looking bodyguards standing outside a room.
That had to be Lysanderâs room. Only he would warrant such a show.
As Thalassa approached, the bodyguards blocked her way, making it clear that she wasnât allowed in.
Just as Thalassa was about to speak, a womanâs shriek echoed from the room. It sounded loud and lustful.
Thalassaâs words were stuck in her throat as her face turned pale.
She was no longer a naive girl. She knew exactly what those sounds indicated.
The bodyguards remained expressionless. They were unfazed by the sounds.
Hertha, however, was gaping in shock. Her eyes were as wide as saucers.
2 2 2 2 2 2 2 8 2 2 2 2 2 2 After glancing at the closed door and then at Thalassa, she noticed Thalassaâs ashen.face. Her heart ached, and she rolled up her sleeves, ready to confront the bodyguards.
Thalassa quickly grabbed her arm. âHertha, donât rush in. Letâs go.â
âWhat? Youâre leaving? Arenât you going to barge in and slap that adulterous man?â Hertha was indignant on Thalassaâs behalf. Her chest was heaving heavily with anger.
âLetâs go, Hertha. Donât cause a scene. Thalassa held Herthaâs hand and led her to the elevator. Her hand was trembling as she pressed the button for the ground floor.
Realizing that her friend was pretending to be calm yet trembling too much to even press a button, Hertha lost all control. âThat Lysander is too much! How dare he be with another woman?!â
