Thalassa hurried to the blind date venue.
The matchmaker pulled her along, rushing towards the scene with haste.
In the spacious coffee shop, tables and chairs were knocked down and scattered everywhere.
Evelyn was arguing and struggling with a man, and her face was flushed with deep anger.
âYou rotten scoundrel! Youâve deceived me so many times, and here you are deceiving me again!â
Evelynâs neck was stiff, and she was spitting as she spoke. She was so angry that her eyes were about to pop out.
She held the manâs collar with one hand and a chair with the other, looking as if she were about to hit him over the head with it.
âWhen did I ever deceive you? You were the one who was attracted to my profile and wanted to meet me.â The man defended himself.
Thalassa caught a glimpse of the manâs face.
It was Bruce.
What was he doing here again?
âWas I attracted to your profile? You were the one who told the matchmaker that you were interested in my profile and requested an introduction! You used a fake name and hid your identity and photo all to deceive me!â
Evelyn was so angry that she was breathing heavily. She furiously stared at him like a madman.
âIâve always been like this! It was you who was attracted to me, which means you still like me. Evelyn, we are destined to be together. You cannot deny it.â Bruce kept on persuading Evelyn, even though she was red in the face with anger.
âShut up! What destiny do I have with you?! Iâd rather marry a monk than marry you in this lifetime!
Cough up my introduction fee!â Evelyn gripped the chair tightly, threatening to hit him.
If he continued his sweet talk, she might really break his head.
âEvelyn, donât be so high and mighty. It doesnât suit you. Youâre the modest and graceful type. After all the twists and turns, we always end up together, and the fact that you picked my profile at first glance proves that you still canât forget me.â Bruce, looking sophisticated in his suit, tried to win her over with his charms.
It was this handsome face and charming demeanor that had deceived countless women.
Evelynâs heart ached. She didnât want to admit that she still had feelings for Bruce. She tried to forget him by meeting new people, hoping to erase him completely from her heart.
But the person she was meeting was still Bruce.
Was it true that she was only attracted to his type?
Why did she always fall into his trap?
Evelyn became more and more agitated, and her anger turned into embarrassment. The more he read her mind, the more unbearable it was for her. She lifted the chair and swung it at Bruce.
âIâll kill you for ruining my lives!â
Bruce raised his hand, accurately catching the chair she had swung, and pushed her away angrily.
âYouâre becoming more and more violent!â
Evelyn was pushed back, causing her to stagger.
All of this happened very quickly, in less than a minute.
Thalassa and the matchmaker were still on their way.
âMom!â Thalassa was shocked and rushed forward.
Fortunately, she managed to catch Evelyn in time.
Thalassa glared angrily at Bruce. âBruce, what the hell do you want? Why canât you leave my mom alone?â
Thalassa, you saw it just now. She wanted to hit me. I didnât do anything to her. The blind date was arranged by the dating site. We just happened to meet here because of fate.â Bruce defended himself innocently.
âStop fooling people! I asked the matchmaker already. Youâve been a member of the dating site for years! Youâve met a lot of women, and you always end the relationship after a while, using incompatibility as an excuse! This is clearly fraud! Youâre a married man, and youâre using someone elseâs ID to register on a dating site?! How many women have you deceived?â
Thalassa stared at Bruce angrily. On the way here, she called to ask about the man who had the blind date with Evelyn.
What kind of person could get into a fight with Evelyn?
When she got the manâs information and saw that it was Bruce, she instantly understood what was happening.
