Thalassa was shocked to see Lysander in the car.
Alaric went to the Sinclair Group to pick up Lysander?
Lysanderâs face was cold, and his eyes were deep. âAlaric, your driving skills still need some work.â He said.
His words put the blame squarely on Alaric, echoing what Thalassa had said about his lack of driving skills.
Alaric just laughed and nodded. âYeah, my driving sucks. Itâs all on me. Miss, letâs talk about compensation.â He told Hertha.
His smile was as carefree as ever.
Lysander was right. His driving was lousy. If Lysander had been driving, he wouldnât have crashed, even if he had to brake suddenly Herthaâs body went limp when she heard his voice. She stared at him, too stunned to move Thalassa turned around to see that Hertha was still staring at Alaric. She was so disappointed in her.
She nudged her gently. âHertha, Alaric is talking to youâ
Hertha snapped back to reality. She was suddenly full of energy and rushed to the car window. âNo need for compensation. Itâs not a big deal. You guys can go.â She babbled to Alaric.
Thalassa rubbed her forehead, wondering where Herthaâs common sense had gone.
Alaric chuckled. Thatâs not how it works. We have to follow traffic rules. Iâm a man of principles. If youâre really busy right now, letâs exchange contact info, and Iâll transfer you the money.â
Herthaâs heart pounded like a jackhammer. She pulled out her phone, but she was so excited that she dropped it.
She quickly picked it up, but her fingers were still trembling slightly.
Alaric saved her contact info and started to close the car window, saying, âMiss, could you step back? I need to back upâ
âOh, sure.â Hertha quickly stepped back.
The silver car backed up and then drove away, leaving Thalassa in a cloud of exhaust.
She was a bit annoyed.
Rich people were so arrogant. They hit someoneâs car, and while the other car was wrecked, theirs didnât even have a scratch.
Hertha watched the silver Porsche drive away, then excitedly hugged her phone and started screaming, âOh my god, he saved my number!â
She turned and hugged Thalassa, jumping up and down in excitement. âThalassa, he saved my number again! This is so great!â
Thalassa smiled, âAs long as youâl ire happyâ
At first, she wanted to warn Hertha about Alaricâs style so she could make an informed decision.
But if Hertha knew all about Alaric and still liked him and wanted to chase after him, Thalassa wouldnât say a word.
They were all adults. They knew what they were doing.
Even if Hertha ended up getting hurt, at least sheâd have no regrets.
And who knew, maybe Hertha would succeed?
Who could say anything definite about love?
âHonk! Honk!â
âWhy are you still parked there? Move it!â
Cars drivers behind them started honking as they grew impatient.
Hertha immediately stopped jumping around, quickly let go of Thalassa, got back into the car, and moved it to the side.
âThe car can still be driven, letâs get it to the car repair shop.â Hertha said, seemingly back to her sensible self.
