When Lysanderâs handsome face adorned a stern look, it was a clear sign of his annoyance.
Charlotte couldnât help but feel a little victorious. She knew this piece of news would ruffle Lysanderâs feathers about Thalassa.
Unable to hide her joy, she continued to provoke Lysander. âSheâs so reckless in her private life. She was pregnant in her sophomore year, and sheâs probably had an abortion. How does a woman like that deserve to stand in front of you, Lysander?â
The more she spoke, the scarier Lysanderâs eyes seemed to grow. He stared intently at Charlotte without uttering a word.
Despite her reservations, she wore a smug smile as she waited for Lysanderâs judgment on Thalassa.
She was sure Thalassa was in for a rough ride this time.
âDaddy, did you come out to pick us up?â A small, chubby figure with short legs ran up to Lysander and tugged at his pants. His large, innocent eyes adorably sparkled up at him.
Following him, three more little ones came waddling over and surrounded Lysander as their baby voices called out for their daddy.
Lysanderâs large hand gently stroked their little heads.
Charlotte was taken aback. âThey⦠they areâ¦â
She looked at the little cherubs at Lysanderâs feet, then back at Lysander as her breath hitched. She stuttered as she asked, âTheyâ¦theyâre your children? Are they adopted?â
Fitch stepped forward, replying with the utmost respect. âMs. Ravensong, they are all Lysanderâs own flesh and blood. They are the young masters and young misses of the Royal Estates.â
Charlotte nearly choked on her breath. Lysander had children? And they were this big? Who was their mother?
The children seemed to be around four years old.
Thalassa was pregnant in her sophomore year, so if she had the baby, it would be around four years old now.
Could it be that these children were Thalassaâs?
With that thought, all of Charlotteâs previous triumph turned into shock. Her heart shattered into pieces.
âWhat did you just say?â Lysanderâs icy voice echoed, and his mysterious gaze fell on Charlotte.
Charlotte flinched. Meeting Lysanderâs intense gaze made her panic, and her bravado instantly deflated. She stuttered, âNo⦠no⦠nothing. I remember I have something to do, sol better leave.â
She swiftly lowered her head and hurried away, lacking the courage to even glance at the children surrounding Lysander.
âDaddy, who was that lady? What was she saying to you?â Elowen looked at Charlotteâs retreating figure, her soft voice filled with curiosity.
âShe was just talking nonsense. Letâs go inside.â Lysander took Elowenâs hand and walked into the house. The rest of the children followed suit.
âWhereâs Mommy? Hasnât Mommy come home yet?â Dorian looked around and didnât see Thalassa anywhere.
âYeah, whereâs Mommy?â Elowen chimed in.
Lysander fixed his gaze on Fitch.
âMs. Everhart probably hasnât finished work yet.â Fitch quickly explained.
âThen weâll wait for Mommy to get off work.â
The little ones obediently trotted off to the playroom, intending to play with their toys while waiting for Thalassa to return.
After finishing work, Thalassa was about to hail a cab when a red Porsche pulled up in front of her. The window rolled down, revealing Charlotteâs furious face. âThalassa, you actually have four children with Lysander!â
Thalassa had given birth to quadruplets?!
